Great song, the whole album was good. Six singles released from that album in the UK, two in the US. This song charted higher in the US than in the UK (#2 vs #5)
Great song, great choice. A lot of people will skip over because they've never heard of it, but my dad loved it, so I remember this as a kid. And I've loved it ever since.
Whenever I hear this song, I also need to hear "If you Leave" by OMD. They're similar, and they give me that same feeling. I think they may have come out around the same time 😎👍
Every time I get into a phase of listening to this type of music Things can only get better by Howard Jones is a part of the mix. Have you reacted to that song?
I love eighties and this sweet song. Please think of spandau ballet "through the barricades" and Billy Idol " sweet sixteen". You are my favourite couple who react to those songs. I appreciate very much your kindness ❤❤❤
This genre of music is called "Sophisti-pop" and was actually more common in early to mid 80's rather than late 80's when this song came out, nevertheless...Also, this is the American version of the video, the original British one(as this is an English band) has a different vibe.
Totally agree sophisti pop as you call it was big in mid 80s , aztec camera, prefab spout , the style council etc I didnt think JHJ as belonging to that genre but it makes sense
Now THAT is music!!!!! Actual well written lyrics, music and clear singing that encapsulates a universal human experience. We need more well thought out songs rather than these endless noise (some called "music") prevalent over the radio waves and coming through current music videos. Garbage that fail to have any sort of well thought out form, such that continuous expletives are used to mask talentless individuals.
Lovely to see you doing this one.. this song is amazing over years it for the first time last week. I'm 46. Where the hell was I when this song came out.. its amazing to discover hidden gems from back in the day. Please do LISA FISCHER how can I ease the pain video 1993.. you've never done my requests once ❤😢 keep going and carry on making us smile.. love you both
I wish I can go back to 1987❤ I miss so much this Times. 😢

I agree, sounds more like it would’ve come out in ‘83 than ‘88.
Directed by David Fincher!

You should listen to "Heart of Gold"
By them.
At that age they haven't ever watched it???!!!! 🧐 My gosh!! 🤦🏻♂️
😊😊
You guys should do a react to their song I Don't Want To Be A Hero!!!
That era is so missed 😢
Think I was still in highschool (class of 1986). Nice hit.
Johnny hates jazz more than any three people I know yet even his hatred alone may not prove strong enough to halt Jazz.
@tj5579 Showing my age. Radio stations would make comments like mine "Why does Johnny hate jazz?" or "Johnny hates you more than he hates jazz."
nice souvenir
If you really want to know what the 80s smell like, this is your song.

Check out Roger waters, the name of the song is called in every strangers eyes, it's in 1981...(ps, he's the bass player of pink Floyd)
