Glad you enjoyed it. I will try to make more recordings without audiences. this time there were people who had never seen anything like this before. By the way, they plan to join AMICA and MBSI as a result.

The bird singing during the music was a mistake. It was turned on by one person and the roll by another. This IS the original and only Wurlitzer model 33-A ever built. Sorry about the talking during the music. There were people there who had never seen anything like this before.

Well, people were having fun. If you can't afford the real thing, there is a great CD of this exact PianOrchestra available on Chris Carlisle's "Bandorganmusic" website.
And I agree, I highly doubt anyone actually listened to these things seriously back in the day, they were either background music for restaurants, etc. a "musical barker" in front of a movie house, or for dance music. Only home instruments such as player pianos, organettes, and Welte orchestrions were really listened to.

That's a real tour-de-force arrangement. I'm personally not very annoyed by the loud outbursts... it shows that people are really enjoying the music, and besides, I'm sure most of us have heard "William Tell Overture" a bajillion times anyway.
Were it a rare and really good tune like "Mariza waltz" (which I heard on a nice Weber Styria a few months ago), I would have been annoyed by talking.

    That's excellent!
Just a gentle hint: perhaps you could try recording a classical selection with the doors closed, so that the swell shutters in the top can do their work making the louds loud and the softs soft?
I know it is really fun to see the insides, but just on occasion, it might be nice to hear it with the swells as well. (hey, that rhymes)
I know playing it open isn't as sacreligious as with, say, a Weber Maesto... just a friendly helpful hint (I like seeing it open too).

Audience members should be seen and not heard.
: ) Good show. Remarkable instrument.
