    I've yet to try the biting technique for dispatching octopus! Nicely done! 😁 And very cool to see some of the other fish the sunny coast has to offer

    Awesome vid, mate! I live and spearfish in Brissy but wow, sunshine coast sure looks way better haha. Have fun and be safe out there 🙂

      Cheers mate! Nah brissy can be insanely good. Like best diving in Australia good when its on. Check out one of my other videos: ua-cam.com/video/E0UcuRgzI1M/v-deo.html
      I suppose the allure of the sunny coast is we get a lot more trout, and Ive got a chronic trout addication.
      Hopefully see you out in the water sometime!

    The shark you spotted at 4:09 is not a Grey Nurse Shark (Carcharias taurus), it's probably more likely a Nurse Shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum)

    Fe’e 😂🙌🏽 so cool that you acknowledged the Samoan term of octopus! Surprised me 🇼🇸

    Great vid Rhys, love the voice over. Very nice trout and well done on restraining yourself on the Jack's. That's hard to do!

      Cheers cliff, it was so hard but I needed to get the kids from school and keep the filleting time to a minimum

    Sick as always! Love the new audio set up

      cheers Svenny! And thanks for the feedback. I worked out you need an audio splitter to use a mic with a macbook. Also putting a sock on the mic reduces the popping noises

    New Subscriber, that is amazing to watch just how much fun you had
    I have wanted to have a go at it and hope to in the future
    What sort of area loosely is it out of?
    Cheers Garry

      Cheers Gary! To be honest with you the diving is fantastic from Caloundra up to Noosa (and south and north too!). There isnt really one area thats better than the other, you just get to know them over time and when to go and where.

      @AttitudeAdjuster Рік тому

      WHat is your name? and do you use any shark bands or shields
      You seem just so relaxed and I just think it looks like such an amazing sport that I want to have a crack in the future @@novizadventures

      @novizadventures  2 роки тому

      Yep absolutely - it’s never perfect but always pretty good. Especially when you lose brain cells and can dive dirty water

    Man, massive step up in quality! Awesome video.. good to see someone else plug a gold spot sweetlip, I smoked one after drying it and it was legit one of the best fish I’ve had.. also that stone shop was a cracker.

    • @novizadventures
      @novizadventures  2 роки тому

      Cheers John! Yeah the sweetlips go really quite well especially smoked up. Good sustainable species that one. How did you dry your fish?

    Hey mate, great vid again. What were the larger fish in the cave at the 5 in mark. Awesome vis.

    • @novizadventures
      @novizadventures  2 роки тому

      Cheers mate they were brown sweetlip aka blubberlip morwong. Although they are actually pretty ok to eat they have super tough scales - so tricky to fillet

    Hey mate just wondering what size is that gun looking at buying a rob Allen And not too sure what size to get

    • @novizadventures
      @novizadventures  2 роки тому

      Hey mate - the gun is custom made but has a 105 barrel and 1.5m spear - this works for me. A speargun with similar specs would be 1.1-1.2m
