- Super fishy on one of our hot spots out off Brisbane Queensland. Spearfishing off Moreton Island can be very challenging but it pays to explore and find the fishy spots.
We shot mangrove jacks, spanish mackerel and black spot tuskfish to name a few.
spear gun: Vendetta Rollergun Aimrite
wetsuit: Polosub
boat :Haines Hunter v17r - Ігри
Aha, such a nice "secret spot"! Can't wait until weather gets good again to visit ! Nice vid
Haha, it's top secret. Yeah, has been over a month since I have been out. Need this wind to stop
Another great video, I love the slow-mo.
Thank you, Peter. I love seeing the slowmo shots
Cracking vid bro, that school of jacks was awesome!! 🤙🏼
Cheers mate! Yeah, love finding these big schools of jacks. So good
So good! I was hanging for your next video to drop and this is why, awesome viewing. Love your work Cliffy
Thanks mate, thank you for the footage! Hopefully we can make many more
Your videos are great, man! Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much! Glad you are enjoying them😁
Awesome vid! Great to know regarding the Surgeonfish schools, I always ignore them but will take a better look next time I run into them! Really cool to see what this coastline has to offer, looking forward to the next vid 💪
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the vid. I have some pretty epic footage coming very soon.
@@DownDeep I'll be waiting! 😁
Hey Cliffy, looks like you're getting shaft whip from overpowering your spear. I could be wrong but could be worth considering changing up .5mm and see how your accuracy sits.
I think you are right! I am using a 7.5mm at the moment. I have been thinking about moving up to an 8mm.
It was shooting to the left pretty bad, wasn't sure if it was a bent shaft or the recoil throwing the shot off.
It's weird that it doesn't always whip. Especially when I have a new shaft. I'm going to buy an 8mm shaft tonight and try it. Thankyou! Appreciate the feedback
Excellent video brother!! Sending you good vides from Okinawa!! Happy Hunting ❤
Thanks mate, I'll check your channel out. Would love to dive Japan one day
@DownDeep the water here in Okinawa is very similar to yours, just a little warmer, perhaps. If you ever come up this way, I'll show you some decent spots!
@ExploringwithBug that would be amazing. Hoping to visit Japan in the next couple of years. Will have to make trip to Okinawa
Good selection of great fish for SEQ!
Thanks mate, was a particularly good day that one. Top table fish
Excellent vid Cliffy!
Thanks Brad😁
Nice video man i enjoyed the commentary.
Glad you enjoyed! thanks for the comment
So many mangrove fish bro done sub dive safe bro.
Thanks mate😁
Good eating
Deadly video again, another lifetime spot. So great to see you jus take a feed 👍🏾
How deep youse was diving
Thanks mate, best thing about spearfishing is only taking the fish you want to eat. Most of the diving was 20m-22m.
Thank you for sharing nice content, full suport done❤❤
Thank you very much for the support! Much appreciated!
Haha damn gota hate those days of missing
It's the worst! I'm getting a new shaft😅
HEY! That's my secret spot - Get off it you mob 😲🤣What happened at 6:00, did the shaft skim off via the flopper? Time to sharpen the spear or go to spec savers LOL! Great Video crew ripper fish, jealous as, tell Danny to pull his finger out and get some fish hey! Dive safe, have fun! 🤣🤿🐟👍🍻
I want to get a gopro on Danny's head. He shoots some great fish.
Man, not 100% sure what was happening. It looked like shaft whip on a few of my shots. May be a bent spear. I'm going to try an 8mm spear. Should stop shaft whip and be harder to bend. Hopefully solves my issues 😅🤣
@@DownDeep I'd be checking your flopper too looking at the footage. 7.5mm spear shouldn't be whipping off the roller. 8mm is better though. Check the end of the shaft point as well and get the file on it if the shaft is not bent.👍👍
What should I be looking out for on the flopper?
I really want to try an 8mm spear. I seem to bend a lot of spears.
When I get a new shaft, I'm pretty accurate. After only a few trips it looses accuracy. I mean it could just me some days, but in the footage it looks like it's whiping to the left pretty bad. I'll check the shaft when I get home for any bends and get back to you.
@@DownDeep The floppers can sometimes get knocked enough to have an effect on the spear travel. Get Danny to give you my number and give us a call. I'll be able to step you through some quick checks. Or send me an email with your number in it from my contacts / community page is my email address and I'll give you a call. Save time.👍👍
I found the problem mate, the shaft was slightly bent. Was shooting dead accurate the last two trips
I bet you guys would be much happier hunting for Mangrove Merv!
Haha, I had to look up who that was
Woooow a beautiful spot subscribe es done
Thanks for the sub😁
Bloody brilliant video mate as always what's the go with the shit shots mate. At least you can admit to a couple of bad shots, not like some.keeping it reel, brother, keep them coming. Love your videos.
Haha, I think my shaft was bent, or the gun was overpowered. I'm going to try a slightly thicker shaft so it doesn't whip. Hopefully, it helps. Missing fish sucks!!
Salam kenal master spearo. Semoga bermanfaat
Good 👍 eating
Delicious!!
Just sub bro nice video..
Thank you, mate.
@@DownDeep your welcome bro
So many fish brother 👌🤿
We were lucky that day😁
@@DownDeep dive safe always brother from Philippines 🇵🇭👌
8:22 How much meters was that on the Sun from the surface?
About 22m here or 72feet
@@DownDeep nice 👌🏾 ua-cam.com/video/9D5vLgy5A1k/v-deo.htmlsi=5JS8sakyBSDYsKv8
You see it
Where the kingies definitely too small?
They were definitely legal. Some of them are around the 8kg to 10kg range. Some of our King fish go mushy when cooked from a parasite or something. I always seem to get the infected one, so I don't normally shoot them.
It's probably fine as sashimi though
What is the depth?
20m-22m deep mate
why didnt you take any kings?
Honestly, they are not my favourite thing to eat.
Our kingfish sometimes are really mushy due to a parasite I think...
they don't all have it though. the last one I shot did however
@@DownDeep oh ok thanks for responding
