- Franck Muller dials are manufactured entirely in house at our factory located in Les Bois, in the Jura. The artistry and talent behind a Franck Muller dial is incredible. Creating a dial is an extraordinarily delicate and time consuming process. Each dial needs 20 layers of lacquer and requires a drying period of one hour for each layer. The emblematic sun burst also makes Franck Muller dials instantly recognisable. Finally, the carefully hand painted Luminova numerals complete the work of art.

I have yet to find a video showing someone making a watch dial by hand. CNC is fine.... but a craftsman did not make it...(. a computer and machine made it ) I am beginning now to attempt it.... nothing but raw materials and my hands. Anyone know of a site that may help ?
jr johnston look up RGM watches is Pennsylvania. He does them by hand and there are video’s on UA-cam.

Very nice. However I am surprized that the guilloché is not handmade on such a luxury watch. Doing a guilloché on a CNC machin doesn't need some specific skills. It's laking of artistic value to my eyes.
Such microscopic guilloché by hand would instantly jack up the price over 100K and it would take half a year just to make one dial. That is if you don't f##k it up. After all, this particular dial is made not to demonstrate a pattern, but to give a dial cool reflections of light.
A central tourbillon guilloché could have been made by hand, but considering that the dial is curved, it was simply stamped like all the AP dials. Tho carefully covered with 20 layers of stuff and no holding back on numerals.
