Mine will be delivered monday hope it is in as great of shape as your i just recently aquired a m91ts carbine an i like it alot very nice rifle for the money always happy to add to my collection
When the whole sight leaf is flipped forward the front of the rifle, that notch is calibrated for 300 meters. If you place the rear sight leaf toward the rear of the rifle and is resting on the 300 meter notch that is a 400 meter notch.
I have one of these that belonged to my father and was returned by him from WWII. Marked Terni 26 year of manufacture. It has been stored and unfired since its return. Thanks for helping with the ID I was not sure what model it was.
Thank you for the extensive review. My 91/24 from Buds has a bulged barrel about 6 inches from the muzzle, Buds refused return since i didn't report within 1 week. I've never seen a bulged barrel and at first thought the black ring inside the barrel was due to the 'gain twist rifling' of this model. So now i have a $249 wallhanger. Live and learn i guess.
I recently picked up a 91/24 from royal tiger imports and well let me tell ya somethin. It has a really nice stock and that’s where it ends. Still getting wire wheeled, missing the sling bar on the side, bolt handle is bent, cleaning rod is just a metal rod, the bar that adjusts the site is bent, and the barrel… it’s effectively a muzzle loader. Hell what can I expect for $179.00.
I ordered one of these M91/24's from Bud's Guns on Sunday, just waiting for it to be delivered to my FFL. Kinda wish now I had gotten the T.S. from DK Firearms but hopefully I will get a good one.
Good luck man! They seem to be hit and miss but it's that way with most surplus stuff now. I wanted one of the DK T.S. rifles too so I just went ahead and ordered one of each. I'll be unboxing that one next week.
I got one of these from Bud's. I think yours is a bit better than mine still I'm very pleased. Especially considering what the condition of surplus that's being sold on the market lately. Mine's a 1916, no cleaning rod, stock is more wore but is matching. Only odd thing is the importer added a serial number to the guns which already have clear numbers. Nothing wrong with that but i can't figure out why.
that is because the receiver does not have a serial number on them and here in the USA we consider the receiver as the main part of the firearm and before importation must have a serial number put on the receiver.
Yeah I hate that they have to do the import marks they way they do. It's a dumb law but I'd rather have them imported with ugly stamps than not to be imported at all. Enjoy that rifle man! Thanks for watching!!
I am surprised it came with cleaning rod I heard that is super rare with these. I am interested in seeing the comparison shooting. Always great data with these videos I learn a lot watching.
I glad it had the cleaning rod. They weren't guaranteed with the purchase. I'm hoping to get it out the range this weekend. Thanks for watching buddy. I appreciate it.
The m91 I ordered is on its way to my ffl. I've heard people getting bad rifles from buds, so I ordered mine from psa because I havent seen as bad reviews from them. Hopefully I get a good one
Dude that thing looks close to untouched judging by the slightly bent rod in the front it spent a lot of time leaning on the wall. The blueing looks awesome and the stock looks beautiful
Try to find some ammo with a .268 diameter bullet. It may perform better in your rifle. I'm looking forward to getting this one and my DK M91 T.S. to the range! Thanks for watching!!
The thumbnail caught my attention. “EXNAVYEOD” would love seeing this. I think you’d enjoy seeing his collection also. (He served 22 years, has a REALLY COOL collection, and also documenting his journey with Huntington’s Disease.) Awesome guy! That’s a beautiful piece. Love budsgunshop! 🇺🇸💚
Sounds like the kind of channel I'd like. I'll check it out!! This was my first time doing business with Buds. They were easy to work with. Thanks so much for giving the video a look!!
@Readiness Reviews Any insight to what Buds ships under the "Carcano 91 Truppe Special Carbine" eg 91 v 91/24, 91/28, etc? Is it just a luck of the draw?
I cant seem to get my front barrel band off, it feels like I have to destroy the handguard to do so. Seems like the wood expanded. Not sure what to do.
It's pretty tough. I had to carefully tap mine off with a hammer and punch. Light taps at different points on the band and it will loosen up and come off.
Trying to read these comments but not fully understanding. What is the difference between the rifles Buds gun shop sells and the ones from DK? I placed an order from DK only because multiple reddit comments I read were saying DK's batches seemed to be in better condition based on pictures compared to Buds, RTI and PSA. But was there a difference in the actual rifle itself between these companies?
Buds has M91/24 T.S. rifles. DK has 91 T.S. rifles. The 91/24 is converted from a long rifle and the 91 T.S. was originally built as a carbine. As far as condition goes they look about the same but the 91 T.S. rifles are most likely better shooters because they didn't undergo a conversion.
@@ReadinessReviews Thank you so much for explaining. Makes perfect sense and I am hoping the rifle I ordered is in good standing condition to at least shoot it. I'd rather have a good shooter than a wall hanger lol.
PPU makes .268 bullets you can buy for reloading so I would suspect (I have some but just got them today) that PPU 6.5 Carcano ammo has the correct larger diameter bullets. So if people are using PPU and it still shoots like hell...doubt it's the ammo.
@@ReadinessReviews You're welcome, hope it does. I have one of these on the way from Buds as well and I got two boxes of that PPU ammo plus a couple boxes of their .268 bullets for working up some reloads. I didn't know about the issue with the gain rifling and these being cut down, hope it shoots decent!
PPU factory ammo has the wrong projectiles. The box clearly specifies that they are using .264, why they do this having the right projectiles available is a mystery to me. I bought a few hundred .267 projectiles to reload the brass from their factory ammo.
@@ReadinessReviews I unfortunately found out after spending almost 2 days looking. The kick in the butt is that I looked at 2 sites in Canada and they have it but they wont send it to the U.S.

Just got mine today from Buds. It is not even close to being in the condition yours is. Lots of rust and corrosion. Thought about ordering another one from them but think i will pass. Thanks for the video and good luck!
Mine had quite a bit more rust under the wood. I still got it to clean up pretty nice though. Sorry yours wasn't that great. Thanks for checking the video out!
Be careful removing those action screws. The front one on mine was tightened down by a monster. Soak them with PB blaster or something similar from above and below.
I had an M91/24 on order from Bud's Guns but it had not shipped yet & so let me cancel the order. I then went to DK's website & ordered one of these M91/TS rifles, I had second thought on that cut-down barrel on the M91/24 so hopefully this M91/TS will be a shooter.
It's a dice roll. Sometimes you get lucky sometimes not so much. This one did clean up pretty nicely though. Thanks for checking it out! Enjoy that rifle!!
They seem to be pretty hit and miss. From what I've seen from others they do look like they are in better shape than what RTI has to offer. Thanks for checking the video out!
That's really unfortunate. They seem to be hit or miss for the most part. I think you will find it was worth what you paid for it in year to come. Thanks for watching!!
I wouldn't call them a "rip off" You just have to know what to expect before buying. The guns are going to be in rough shape because they have a storied past with hard use and poor maintenance. They were stored in bad conditions for many years. Are they a bit overpriced for the condition they are in?.... Yes, I think so. They are the only place you can get some of the stuff they are offering though.
