It sounds like the beginning plays around with key of G but then shifts to F, making the G a II-maj when they go back to it throughout the verses. The A in the chorus feels borrowed too. I don't know where I've heard these chord choices before but they sound very traditional, maybe gospel or country songs. Thx for posting!
