Barely lose 80 miles throwing tail out for a 360, then accelerate for another 5 or so frames to add another 10 miles and then do another 360 but counter-clockwise, losing another 80 miles? @@Hyde233 because on controller, your joystick goes (f.e.) from the middle (lets say 0) to the far right (lets say 1) by going 0.1,0.2, etc. (maybe even more precise) in the time you turn but since you cant handle that smooth with a keyboard, there is only from 0 directly to 1, which makes it very direct but just gives this advantage. it is possible to fish tail on ps2 or controller in general but you probably can't and never get it as much on keyboard because of the handling in the game. In need for speed games, I think this is handled better but mc2 gets its own vibe through this :D I hope it was kinda understandable
@@xRaisn There's more to it than just that. Even when the joystick is moved all the way to the left/right, it still doesn't turn as sharply as it does on keyboard. Cars are just able to turn much harder on keyboard. Some cars, like the Cocotte and Citi, are impossible to fishtail on controller because the game just doesn't allow you to turn sharply enough with a controller.
@@Hyde233 probably due to "limitation" of the joysticks so the driving feels smoother for ps2/controller players. the fine tuning for the keyboard is just not optimal which somehow makes it better imo
@@xRaisn Nope, that's not it. In the settings for the PC version of MC2, you have you switch between a "keyboard" and "controller" mode when you want to switch between using a keyboard or controller. When in controller mode, it allows you to use both keyboard and controller at the same time, but if you try to use the keyboard while in controller mode, you just can't turn as sharply. The game purposefully limits how sharply you can turn when you're in controller mode.
This is the first time I see a full playthrough of a speedrun, I’ve looked at a few others but I just lose interest cuz I’m like “oh he’s just jumping, rolling” or whatever, but this entire playthrough is so entertaining, so full of skill, I had to watch the whole thing, really well done!

Yep fastest car isn't always the best. In Midnight Club LA I would just use the corvette c6 to beat the game, had all the power you needed without being ridiculous like the higher end cars which I'd always end up crashing. Taught me a valuable lesson about cars which still holds true to this day.

How are you able to do fishtailing on anything besides Emu? I can only do fishtailing on Emu, other cars just slow down. Do I need specific hardware specs, framerate or options?

@@antscorpio1030 Nah. The thing is, MC2 is a very complicated game with how it works. Basically: The more fps you have in this game, the faster your car gets damaged and breaks. The emu is one of the first cars you get in L.A. so when i play on 120 fps i can take 5-6 hits max till i break = major time loss. The first two races with blog are with very high traffic which makes fishtail a risky thing to do. The jersey is faster in those two races in particular.

Tap handbreak. Hold forward button and then left or right key. Just practice really.
