Would be good if you could keep the reel in frame. When you are discussing removing the pin for the spool release (11:32 or there about) it was hard to see what you were referring to. I love these reels, I use and ambassador more than any other reel. They are fun to fish and last forever.

Hi Dennis, I have one of these and the shaft where the main gear sits on is wobbly, which makes the gears not function very well and slips often. Any chance you know how to fix that? It doesn't look like you can tighten or adjust anything, but I could be wrong.

You need to see if the wobble is caused by the gear sleeve or a worn or loose shaft. . You would need replace either one or both to correct the problem. If the bridge post is loose and causing the wobble, you will need to replace the bridge. If that post is sound, then the gear sleeve may have an elongated hole in which case that would need to be replaced as well. There is no way to tighten that up. - Dennis
