Mike Shinoda was my hero at age 13 when I bought Hybrid Theory, now at 29 (yeah I know getting old) I can say he is even more of a hero. Now as a professional musician that plays classical violin now I have to say he is a huge part of why I'm a musician.

I mean absolutely zero dis-respect, but Mike's vocals seemed to take backseat to Chester, and I think even Mike would agree....

Here's a thing, they want their own personal memory of them seeing an artist they like. You know, some of these people may have never got to see Linkin Park and now especially after Chester passing, this is the closest they can get, so they want to keep it.
But the point of a concert is to feel connected with the people there and most of all the artists, now they are more connected with their phones. I hate going to concerts and ending seeing it through a screen because an idiot has a phone right in front of my face. I'm merciless with those, they end up flying.
But are you going to consider what the person has on that phone? The memories? They want to share them from THEIR view, if you wanna feel connected, why cause conflict with those around you? And also you know the last thing people at the concerts on their phones are thinking, "Wow I feel so connected with my phone." Because they're just recording, they're not looking through their phone screen recording, they just press record and watch the show with their eyes. They just want to keep their own memory of it and not one of a youtube video. And that's also the point of a smartphone that can record, to record things you like and keep the memories.
