Assist Control Volume Control (ACVC) is a mode of invasive mechanical ventilation that is standard for many adults who require ventilation in the intensive care unit. In this video we dive into this mode of ventilation. I graduated from a respiratory therapy program in 1985…almost 40 years ago. We were using the MA1-1 with the bellows 😂

@@WhiteboardMedicine I feel like I need to add it was before disposable vent tubing. We had to soak it in cidex, brush and then hang to dry in a heated dryer. Once that done it was packaged and sealed. Yuck !! Also learned to draw ABG’s in a glass syringe. We would heparinize the needles prior. Afterwards, the glass syringes were washed and dried. Double yuck !! This was before the hep B vaccine came out. How we didn’t all get Hepatitis I will never know.
