  • Tsunami2 decoders have two braking systems built into them. We have both independent and automatic brake features. In this video, George explains the difference between these two prototypical braking systems. He also explains how Tsunami2 decoders model these and shows them in action with a Tsunami2 equipped locomotve. Watch now to learn more!

So when you set your own settings for the braking/acceleration etc., do these override your Momentum 1-9 options? Do you leave that setting at 1 to get your custom settings then? Right now I just randomly choose like a 2 or 3 on the momentum but have no clue what it actually does... Nice video, thanks.

They do not overwrite other CVs, the will effect eachother and work together to create the effect. For more info on this please contact our Support Department Directly: soundtraxx.com/contact/technical-support

As soon as I modify CV 118 the locomotive will NOT move no matter what I do.

The steam loco demo video doesn't show anything more than a train starting with a lot of momentum, it certainly wasn't stopping. If CVs 3 and 4 were adjusted for a loco only then adjusted for a loaded train then CVs117 and 118 could be used to reduce the momentum to simulate actual braking. It seems that CV118 was used to add more momentum to simulate a heavy train not to actially brake the train to a stop. It depends on your viewpoint. Wrong terminology regarding braking to stop a loaded train.
    Not a good demo.

I believe you are misunderstanding the demonstration. CV 3 and 4 are set to higher momentums, and CV 117 and 118 are set to demonstrate the feature. How you decide on your final values is up to you, but the point of the demo is to show how it can be done and it is exaggerated so that you will notice a difference so you can see how it works. Apparently this was not the way you would have done it. But the user’s guide and our readily available tech support can help you better understand it so you can implement it properly on your railroad per your desires. Thank you for watching.
