Thank you for posting this video! I’ve been looking around for a while and not much good info out there. This is exactly what happened to my ceiling after I bought my condo!
I had some water damage, and had to remove some popcorn. I put two thin coats of mud down on the ceiling after scraping away the popcorn. Would that be enough of a barrier or would still need to be primed?
Get yourself a can of spray paint that’s called oil based Kilz. Spray it right on there two times and you are ready to go my friend… Two coats of mud will do nothing
Even better, you know why? Now take a flashlight with all your lights off and shine the light sideways against the wall after you primed… Look at all of your imperfections now and re-plaster and then prime again; you did not waste your time

Legends says he’s still priming that small spot
Hey Spencer, great video. I don't see you using any joint compound or mud before priming it. Are you painting directly on dry wall?
I have Gardz leftover from a wallpaper removal project. Could that be used to seal the area instead of oil based primer?
Yes!
Can I use Kilz in place of primer?

@@spencercolgan appreciate it, thank you.
Thanks
By any chance are you cousin of Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Oh, no. I primed without sanding.

Again, can you actually show how it's done
