the "fat positivity" movement means people at the end of the day are programmed to be OK with their health issues (a boon for the pharmaceutical industrial complex) and this also translates into a boon for the food industrial complex.
being healthy and eating healthy just isn't nearly as profitable for them in the long run.

I think there should be a 'fit Barbie' that looks like Torrie Wilson for girls to know it's ok to be fit and lift weights. Most of the video is about extreme obesity, 39% of the US is obese but not to that level. I could get rid of all visible fat if I liposuctioned about 8lbs of fat off, but if I diet and lose 100lbs I'm only a little smaller. Why, I lose muscle, fat, water, glycogen. The only thing outside of that 8lbs that I want to lose is visceral fat, I actually don't have that much of it; but I'd like to have as little as possible.

As a fat person actively trying to lose weight, I can be brutally honest here, and say that it’s awful. All of the health conditions I have because of my weight like a heart condition and high blood pressure isn’t a good thing. I’ve lost about 50 pounds, though in my journey, and I am somewhat proud of myself. So anyone that is reading this just know if I can do it you can do it to.

That's practically impossible in that time-frame, unless she had a very fast metabolism (which she obviously didn't, considering she was morbidly obese)
It would require a 2000 calorie deficit every single day for 2 years to lose 190kg. For a normal person that's essentially eating nothing, and for most women you'd need to exercise on top of not eating to reach that.
Not to mention the fact that eating so little food would obliterate your metabolism beyond imagination. After 1 month of eating almost nothing, your BMR would decrease to less than 1000, at which point it's impossible to reach the 2000 calorie deficit. Unless you ran 20km everyday while fasting, which she definitely was not doing
Going from 280kg to 98kg would take several years realistically, and considering the amount of eating issues surrounding someone who is 280kg, that probably took a decade.

I am glad that people bullied me and this forced me to change. I am 80 kg now and well built. With great stamina. I am often in good mood now and I feel positive. I know how overweight people feels. I don't make fun of them. Its not very easy to loose weight. I have cried many nights myself. Its like getting good grades when you have always gotten below average grades. It takes time. When I used to work in skin grafting I found out people with high BMI’s do not heal if they get any scrape or cut to the point where they need to look at amputation when that scrape turns into a chronic wound. The companies sales map directly lined up with obesity map because the way to avoid amputation was throwing as many therapeutics as possible give assistance to their body’s healing mechanism. If therapeutics failed to heal them well.. you can look up the mortality rate of LEA amputees it is very sad.

And when these people who indulge in willful obesity get sick to the point they are unable to care for themselves, it’s nurses like me who pay the price by jeopardizing our physical health trying to care for them. I have personally been handicapped trying to lift one of my obese patients who was a whopping 800 pounds. Yes, even with the help of equipment and additional people. All it takes is one pull and there goes your back! People who come in and out of these hospitals are getting bigger and bigger and as long as this is the trend, I’m going to continue taking another route in my career path. The majority of them, like other patient populations, do not even want to improve after their hospitalization. They want to sit around, be fat, get a quick fix and go back to living the same way that got them into the hospital in the first place. They don’t care about themselves. They don’t care about education. They don’t care that they’re literally dying but want you to do everything possible to maintain their sad state of existence…

It is so unhealthy, the acid reflux alone makes me feel like my days are numbered. Going through this myself I just can’t understand how anyone would push this type of a lifestyle as body positivity. To be fair, people have autonomy. They don't have to submit to every examination a physician wants to do even if it's considered routine. So if a person doesn't want to be weighed that's fine. You can still look at people and visually guess BMI ranges. So... unless you want to use their weight for calculating a drug dose, doesn't really matter in my opinion. Also, people started refusing being weighed because when fat people complained about anything doctors immediately just blame the weight and refuse to search for other explanations. The medical industry does have some fatphobia. These complaints aren't always just superficial.

This is definitely an issue. The young men in my gym aspire to have a big body like mine, and there's nothing wrong with that in and of itself. But when a couple of them start talking about hopping on tren, or steroids, or some other cycle of drugs, I can't help but feel sadness. The damn social media craze of fitness influencers has poisoned their own self image.
I'm a big, muscular guy and I always have been. I was almost 200 pounds when I left high school decades ago. I'm actually currently 250 lol. However, I work out and eat right and my size is largely a result of my genetics. I always tell these young men to just stay natural, eat right, and train hard. I think there's a middle path. I don't encourage or condone obesity but I still have empathy for people who struggle with it. The truth is that it's NOT about the food. People have weight issues because of inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and poor emotional coping skills. When most food is unhealthy, most household products are toxic, and there's no emphasis on mental health taught in school, what did we expect to happen? The obesity crisis is the natural result of our nation's health degrading- and glorifying the current normal is simply people's way of coping with an environment that feels out of our control!

There's a big difference between being being curvy with a few extra pounds, and being obese.
We need to stop picking one body type and saying that's the beauty standard. That's like saying out of all the dog breeds only one is considered cute right now. When I was in high-school, people wanted to look like they had anorexia, now they say fat is beautiful, but neither is healthy for the majority of the population.

I think the 'you're perfect the way you are' term in the past was to value and love yourself regardless of your differences, even if those differences is undesirable, as a way of promoting mental health and self affirmation, *not* in a physiological sense; saying 'you're perfect the way you are' based on an obese persons physique is obviously false - being fat is not healthy - but most people mean it in a way that it's not worth making yourself feel like shit just because you weigh more.
I'd rather a happy fat person than a fat person that's just sad because they're obsessed with their weight, quite literally because obsessing over your weight is linked to not only yes, losing weight, but also resorting to radical self-affirmation from these crazy 'body-positive' influencers & EDs.
