Titus is literally incorruptible. However he is constantly treated with suspicion by the Imperium because, deep down, they fear that he will fall to Chaos and side with the enemy. That is the fear in the back of Metarus’ mind and that’s why he gets defeated by the Chaos Sorceror.
Well guess that depends on how far into removed content you want to go. He was supposed to be corruptible for Space Marine 2 and 4 back when THQ ran it but that never happened. Really though weird Leandros was so freaked out about it. Not like other people in 40k don't have that kind of resistance. I get Metarus, a rage filled kid with no chill becoming a space marine could easily fall to pride but really you become a captain the ship tends to have sailed.
@@dagonofthedepths I don’t think anyone’s worried that Titus will fall to pride. It’s Khorne that they’re worried about him going to. Can you imagine Titus becoming a Khornate? The blood would truly flow forever if that was to happen.
@coltonwilliams4153 Really pride is how a lot of people fall to Khorne. "I'm better than you why are you not listening to me I can kill 6000 blindfolded orks ect.". Really there was a Guard unit that happened to. They got so arrogant and zealous they just went off on their own on their own personal crusade and came back worshipping the blood god. Pride and arrogance can lead to failing to all 4 depending how it happens.
@@dagonofthedepthsRage is not the issue for the Imperium but more like what if you start seeing the other things about Imperium. Chaos corruption comes with different layers, Horus gets corrupted when he got slash by the chaos knife(on other words seduce by the daemon warp), Angron gets corrupted because he inject himself (nailed) with the "no other emotion except angry" machine into his brain and obsessed with Khorne, Mortarion doesn't want to but since he loves his legion so much he had no other choice but to sell his soul to Nurgle and many more. It all goes down when you start to feel the temptation and all hope is lost.
@@redhakiim789 Yeah I know it's rage and not know fear which leads to having an authority problem if you're a 12-year-old. I mean you look at it from the sergeant's view, he chose a kid with anger issues and someone that doesn't fear his betters. To most people in the Imperium fear breeds obedience. Then this kid grows up to be a space marine then gets accused of heresy and comes back to the chapter all mad and disobedient after touching a chaos rock. Space Wolves have been under watch for far less. So yeah, he has doubts. I know that doesn't hold up in practice all the time. But a lot of characters start sipping the chaos cool-aid because of issues like that. Most marines turn traitor because they feel disrespected, have a superiority complex, or they are overly bloodthirsty. Also I get your point and you're not wrong but 40k Imperium isn't 30K Imperium. Nobody knows really anything relevant about the Primarchs besides Bjron, Cawl, the Custodes and other Primarchs. Besides the culture is totally different.
In the tabletop game "And they shall know no fear" is a special rule for spacemarines. "They shall be my bulwark against the terror and they shall know no fear for they are fear incarnate"
The sorcerer was attacking them through their fear, using it to kill them. One had imposter syndrome, and was afraid of his humanity making him weak, Metaurus, the old man, was afraid that Titus, who had been accused of turning evil, even though he hadn't, so it used that against him. When it got to Titus, he had no fear. EDIT: Also, because of the amount of evil space magic on the planet, things were going weird, like the gravity changing directions when the marines jumped down the cliff.
To add to this the planet was weird bc when you worship chaos you open up to influence to the warp and the warp tends to make things all strange and weird but what's cool is depending on which God you're worshipping (in this case they were worshipping Tzeentch) your planet will change to fit that Gods theme
The gravity didn't go weird it was literally just a camera angle choice lol. They slid to the bottom and the camera simply rotates to establish an uneasy feeling down there.
@@StopReadingMyNameOrElse Watch it again. The camera rotates. The ground does not change at all, there is no 90 degree rotation the marines face during the switch. That is a gravity switch, not a "hitting the bottom of the hole".
@@xenomemphate Except, the wall comes crashing down at the end and they are standing normal the whole time. It was a camera trick to make you think they did that, but the dude in the video also points out an obvious fact too. The crate they are dragging would have slid down ahead of them if they were walking down the wall. They literally slid down like a slide until they hit the bottom, and then stood up. There is no gravity inversion because the statue was right side up. Which is also why the beam comes straight up from where he was standing.
5:09 she's right, there in a chaos field of influence, like tzeentchian, where physical becomes metaphysical, up is down left is right typa shi. chaos shenanigans.
Guys, jump into the lore! There's so many great videos out there. So many great producers. There's ones designed for brand new players and there's ones designed for people who already have a grasp but want to know more. Do everyone a favor just go watch one of them. We'll all be here for it! I am exceedingly biased so go watch bricky. Every faction explained in a nutshell part 1. Yes, it's an hour long Every faction explained part 2 it's also an hour long. Warhammer 40K timeline 30 minutes long Warhammer 40K every Space Marine faction explained 30 minutes long. It's the baby steps into the lore of a game that has 40 years worth of lore and hundreds of books/short stories. This is the very first time it has had an official episode on anything. If you've seen something wearing power armor they got the idea from 40k Everything that you think you know about fantasy sci-fi it came from Warhammer 40K. The term Grim Dark as a genre, literally comes from the opening phrase, In the grim dark future, there is only war. Please, take a second, look at the views on Bricky's videos and jump in. Cheers -Alpharious-
when they dropped into the "hole", there was a gravity shift, making them able to "walk" on the "wall"... the big statue, is the relic that they were send to destroy, guarded by a human, turned demon, and is a sorcerer, that goes into your mind, finds your fear, and kills u with it, buuut, Titus has NEVER known fear, not even as a little KID, so the sorcerer is WORTHLESS vs him...
They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear. --The Emperor of Mankind.
At the beginning of the episode you see a prompt pop up with Projected Mortality: Absolute. The reason for this is that there will be an orbital bombardment once their part of the mission is complete. Then at the end when Metaurus says "Out duty is done" it references the imperium motto, Only in death does duty end.
It's almost impossible to explain Warhammer to new fans in one succinct paragraph lmao but that's why we love it. I've probably read 20 books or so and there's still parts of the lore I have no clue about
if you're interested in the lore of this fictional universe, Bricky does some great videos to introduce new people by lightly touching on subjects, i would start with his factions explained pt1 and pt2 videos, then go to the timeline of 40k, and then every space marine legion explained.
It should be mentioned that when he says “our duty is done, it’s time to go.” He’s saying it’s time for them to die, because a space marines duty ends only when they die.
The people on the bikes are heretics, the bird creatures are daemons and the winged creature is a sorcerer of Tzeench..the sorcerer used their fear to kill the marines..the child is Titus the protagonist of the Space Marine game 1&2.
The implication that Titus is the Space Marine of Space Marines, devoted absolutely to the Emperor and the Imperium, uncorruptible and without an ounce of fear. They're 100% going with the original plan of eventually giving Titus command of his own Chapter. Making a whole new one he will lead the same way Calgar leads the Ultramarines.
For the initiated. Space Marines are psycho indoctrinated from childhood to ignore fear. They do still feel it but they have trained to shrugged off their fight or flight respond to only respond to the former when facing insurmountable odds. As far as the creature that has slowed down time, that was a Tzeetnch corrupted sorcerer. They specialized in using warp magic so while being in the shield was a wise move, you can't be sure when it comes to Tzeetnch's followers. Thus they took a risk to go after it before anything else could ensued. Also Titus is just built different. Even as a child before his indoctrination training, he already never known fear hence why the sorcerer's spell didn't work on him and instead backfire on it.
Titus is just him. He's the MC of space marine. He survives the impossible and his faith is unwavering. So much so that his fellow space Marines revere and fear him, because he should of fallen to the warps corruption several times but he just doesn't and we don't know why except this episode gave us a glimpse of perhaps why with his resolve and never knowing fear.
To give you an idea of how powerful the astartes(space marines) are. You send 1 astartes to take a city, you send a squad to take nations and you send a legion to take worlds. This is referencing Titus the mc from the space marine games but that is only the tiniest touch on the VAST amounts of lore n story I reccomend you guys deep dive into the lore through the UA-cam creators Bricky, luetin and weshammer. In that order. The lore will addict you its so good
The walling on walls and other weirdness kind of takes explain but in 40K there is the Warp. Easy way to understand is its basically hell and it's also unreality (so like up is down left is backwards the air is made of cheese and the ground puppies. Any weirdness you can think of) and the warp is bleeding into reality on this planet so when that gets bad, physics stop working at a point. There are a lot of hints to that that might just seem odd but if you're in the know it's panic time. It's a step away from hell on Earth. Also, for further reference how bad things can get, daemons can pop out if reality gets weak enough and that thing at the end isn't a daemon, it's a daemon worshipper (powerful one but oh boys what some true daemons can do, scary.)
The blood running upward, the paper unburning, the gravity inversion, the purity seals burning, all of this could be explained in a master thesys by influence of the Chaos God of Change, Tzeench himself. TL;DR: CHAOS BULLSHIT!
Welcome to the WH40k Universe. Just to get the quick tid bits out of the way - The knife Wielded at the start is a standard issue combat knife astartes are given. to a normal human being its essentially a sword because of how big it is. to astartes its the equivalent to a combat knife - During the first engagement with the motorbikes. they were firing .75 calibre rocket propelled shells meanwhile the "Astartes" the 4 space marines walking, use ammo equivalent to a 40mm grenade shell. except the ammo is just a tad bit bigger and is also rocket propelled! - Astartes are viewed as "Demi-Gods" essentially Super SUPER soldiers. - Them jumping in a whole is giving context regarding the foe they are about to fight. "Tzeentch" Who is 1 of the 4 Chaos Gods is the god of mischief, Changer of ways, Evolution, trickery etc etc. That hole was a pocket space meant to bend reality. hence the shift in camera perspective - Astartes do not need light in order to operator as all astartes helmets are equipped with AR like infrared & night vision capabilities. also has built in 4x magnification and as shown target acquisition & surveying / scanning - Everything onwards since jumping into the "Hole" are followers of the chaos god "Tzeentch" Hence the bioluminescent blood - The big winged vulture looking dude with the spear that releases the enemy to engage the 4 man astartes team is an "Tzeentchian Sorcerer" a high follower of "Tzeentch" that is able to manipulate time within the blast radius of when he landed. - The sorcerer's main power is to exploit his victims fear. going in order = The 1st astartes feared he would be nothing without his suit > The 3rd was metaurus fearing that titus would be converted to chaos > And lastly the 4th was titus Who HAS NO FEAR. he broke the sorceress scepter within his subconscious which completely broke the spell to manipulate time within the area. This is only just a wiff of how deep Warhammer 40k goes. space marine 1 & 2 the games, do a good job at portraying the universe for the general masses but the real nitty gritty stuff comes from the books which there is over 400+ books!
The reason Space Marine 2 had a somewhat short lifespan is because it was actually designed that way. The campaign is actually the main attraction, and follows the "child" in this, Titus (both Space Marine games do, actually). The game does have multiplayer, but it's kind of limited. The reason it got so much engagement is because it's just so good at giving players a fun experience. It throws you into its world and doesn't waste time trying to make some contemporary point. It's often summed up as a modern Xbox 360 game, like if Gears of War was made today.
The demon sorcerer was using their fears against them basically, until Titus, who Metaurus claims to have known no fear, filled with pain and rage. There was nothing that thing could use against Titus. As for how ridiculously powerful these space marines are, hell, imagine giving a pair of limbs to an armored van. Or maybe captain america + ironman, but instead of one single drug like the captain, lets shove more + 13 (i think. I forgot how many organs were added for Primaris Marines) more organs. They are nasty killing machines, and so yes, they can quite literally, run through a vehicle. Best part is, they can move even faster than what we're seeing in this episode, while also weighing a ton or so from all that armor.
Can confirm that people are in fact still playing Space Marine 2! The content rollouts have been slow but I think it’s worth the wait especially because they aren’t over charging for DLC like most games nowadays
Those studs in the forehead are "service studs" Titus' silver ones represent 50years of service each. So he is over 200years old (mentioned in the game Space Marine 2), his mentor has golden ones which should represent 100 years each, so he would be over 400 years old. Which also fits, because Titus still calls him "old man". Some older books differ, but I think nowadays mostly they go with (silver = 50yeatrs and gold = 100years). Additionally I think I read somewhere iron was used for 10 years. But remember even if people like to take things more serious in 40k .... we're still in fantasyland and much is very open to interpretation and what you personally prefer. The Spacemarine Legions differ greatly amongst each other and don't even get started with the Chapters.
Hi friendly neighborhood 40K nerd and chaos worshipper here to add some context: The main squad with Titus is a Bladeguard Veteran Squad so all of them are experienced warriors. The studs in their heads are service studs each one representing 50 years of service. They were dragging a sanctioned psyker with them (psykers being psychic people) the luminescent blood is coming from Tzaangor who are mutant followers of the God Tzeentch the chaos good of sorcery and Change. And the final enemy apparently is a Sorcerer of Tzeentch but I thought he was a Daemon Prince
The deamon was attacking each of them based on their fears the first marine was afraid he is seen as weak, thought he was lying, so it kills him by that fear and switches the words on his suit to lier and so on the squad commander's fear was of Titus joining chaos and betraying his brothers because he has no fear, which is what they turn into obedience, so the deamon makes him live that fear of being betrayed by Titus and stepped in the back Titus has no fear, so the deamon finds nothing but the child that's filled with rage but no fear. It has nothing to work with to attack Titus and so it loses.
11:15 Helldivers is HEAVILY inspired by Warhammer 40k. You guys got the most of it honestly, there's details about the lore but nothing big about what you could have missed
The purity seals burned away in the presence of Chaos, which is also why the gravity shifted; the warp doesn't pay much attention to physics. The blueblooded creatures are daemonic foot soldiers for a particular Chaos god. The psyker-in-a-box protects the marines against psychic attacks, but is vulnerable to a simple blade. The first marine died due to a form of imposter syndrome, hence THE LIE engraved on his armour. Metaurus fears Titus could turn to Chaos, and was thus betrayed. But Titus himself has no fear for the daemon sorceror to exploit, to its brief regret. Titus is the protagonist of the Space Marine games. This episode is set after SM2. If you've watched the Astartes fanfilm, the person that made that was the 'cameraman' for this; the studio did the animation, but he lined up the shots. Hasbro bought a controlling interest in Games Workshop in 2020, and told the fanfilm makers to work for them or get sued. Richard Boylan's Helsreach series is the only fanfilm to survive, the works of the others have been reuploaded by third parties. Astartes guy signed up, but I hear he quit later on? If someone could confirm... If you want some backround on SM1, react to "For The Emperor" by TheRussianBadger. If you want to learn more about 40k in general, Bricky's "Every Faction Explained" videos would be worth reacting to.
Warhammer is a big big story guys, i been reading books and watching videos of lore and still i dont know everything, but i know the most part and i can tell you this is the best sotory i have read, the people you see in this secret lvl they are not even the main characters hell titus is nothing comparing him to the main characters, there is to many op people and aliens in this no ending hole of lore any way..... THE EMPEROR PROTECTS
You picked up on SO MANY MORE elements, ideas and plot than most that reacted to this show.... really nice to see. If you liked this, please give Space Marine 2 a go.... you'll love it..... and if you want lore, chat can easily suggest at least a few hundred 🙂
Yo, if yall wanna check out some Warhammer stuff that's more horror based, the old 'Death of Hope' trailers and mini-movie go SO DA*N HARD! Ancient armor from 10,000 years before this cinematic, Warp monsters, traitor space marines, and the beginning of the end brought to life by one single dude. Sh*t goes unreasonably hard
Just FYI there's a bunch of Warhammer 40k video games, in different genres. The most recent and very cool one that's a shooter instead of strategy (and on consoles) is Space Marines 2. I've not had the chance to play it much yet but I know it's going to be fun.
Honestly yall should just react to the Warhammer 40k Lore timeline. Bricky does really good videos for entry level Warhammer lore. It's probably one of the deepest and richest lores there is.
Henry Cavil left the Witcher because the Writers were butchering the OG story, n since then he has only been doing cameos in movies because he has been working with the main creators of “WARHAMMER 40K” for a live action show. He has talk about WARHAMMER like a nerd on multiple interviews for years now. He hand paints his own figurines to play a war game with them.

"They shall be my bulwark against the terror
and they shall know no fear
for they are fear incarnate"
They didn’t leave the guy, the turned around to shoot the demon.
Sorcerer. That was a sorcerer. Albeit one that appeared to be close to ascending as a Daemon Prince, but a sorcerer nonetheless.
BTW
Henry Cavill is producing and starring in an upcoming Wahammer TV show
It’s going to be AWESOME!!!
by the emperors light, i sure hope so.
@@MrFredstt Yep, when that page from the tome reverse burned it was clear there was Tzeench fuckery going on. The bird eggs too.
"My armor is contempt, my sword is hatered, my shield is disgust. In the Emperor's name leave none alive!"
5:09 she's right, there in a chaos field of influence, like tzeentchian, where physical becomes metaphysical, up is down left is right typa shi. chaos shenanigans.
13:19 They weren't running away. They knew the demon was behind them. You can see them shooting at it.
Yes, it's an hour long
Every faction explained part 2 it's also an hour long.

Warhammer 40K every Space Marine faction explained 30 minutes long.
It's the baby steps into the lore of a game that has 40 years worth of lore and hundreds of books/short stories.
This is the very first time it has had an official episode on anything.
If you've seen something wearing power armor they got the idea from 40k
Everything that you think you know about fantasy sci-fi it came from Warhammer 40K.
The term Grim Dark as a genre, literally comes from the opening phrase,
In the grim dark future, there is only war.
Please, take a second, look at the views on Bricky's videos and jump in.

2:19 To refuse would be….HERESY!!!
FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
when they dropped into the "hole", there was a gravity shift, making them able to "walk" on the "wall"... the big statue, is the relic that they were send to destroy, guarded by a human, turned demon, and is a sorcerer, that goes into your mind, finds your fear, and kills u with it, buuut, Titus has NEVER known fear, not even as a little KID, so the sorcerer is WORTHLESS vs him...
...O.K. if you want more of this, then y'all need to watch Astartes now.
The Emperor literally watches over this man. They're trapped in that planet with him
Running through a car is the least thing u can do as a space marine
Oh you want the humans fighting back against aliens? Warhammer 40k is the right place. Lots of aliens to fight against!
Titus, man too angry for any room for fear
The lore and stories of Warhammer are so dense and far reaching that it makes the entire run of one piece look like a short story by comparison. 😂
It's almost impossible to explain Warhammer to new fans in one succinct paragraph lmao but that's why we love it. I've probably read 20 books or so and there's still parts of the lore I have no clue about
"this is way beyond my comprehension". Welcome to the deep well of Warhammer lore.
if you're interested in the lore of this fictional universe, Bricky does some great videos to introduce new people by lightly touching on subjects, i would start with his factions explained pt1 and pt2 videos, then go to the timeline of 40k, and then every space marine legion explained.
Those things aren't Aliens, they're Daemons.
Technically both. Albeit from what I read, these specific monsters are humans transformed by warp magic, there's even a term for it that I forget
This is what I've been waiting for! FOR THE EMPORER!!! You guys have to check out Astartes if you haven't already.
Ave Imperator, brother. Gloria in excelsis Terra.
If u want to know more about Warhammer 40k u should do a group reaction and watch a UA-camr name Bricky, he knows about Warhammer 40k.
“Is it a holy war?”…My brothers and sister of the Emperor…It is THE holy war.
It seems like the Emperor has plans for the child with no fear.
Upon first experiencing the Ultramarines slaughterfest
We all felt bad at first 😂
To give you an idea of how powerful the astartes(space marines) are. The lore will addict you its so good
Titus (the child) is well over 400 years old at this point too.
Warhammer is a great franchise that's been hidden in plain sight. I dig deep into the lore and oh boy, probably greatest and darkest lore.
The blood running upward, the paper unburning, the gravity inversion, the purity seals burning, all of this could be explained in a master thesys by influence of the Chaos God of Change, Tzeench himself.
TL;DR: CHAOS BULLSHIT!
@@thiagohayashi9936 I personally prefer the phrase Warp Fuckery
The fluorescent blue blooded creatures in the dark are literally daemons of Tzeentch
@@BloodShed4REAL Nope, they do be Tzaangors aka Beastmen who worship Tzeentch.
Welcome to the WH40k Universe. Just to get the quick tid bits out of the way
- The knife Wielded at the start is a standard issue combat knife astartes are given. to a normal human being its essentially a sword because of how big it is. to astartes its the equivalent to a combat knife
- During the first engagement with the motorbikes. they were firing .75 calibre rocket propelled shells meanwhile the "Astartes" the 4 space marines walking, use ammo equivalent to a 40mm grenade shell. except the ammo is just a tad bit bigger and is also rocket propelled!
That hole was a pocket space meant to bend reality. hence the shift in camera perspective
- Astartes do not need light in order to operator as all astartes helmets are equipped with AR like infrared & night vision capabilities. also has built in 4x magnification and as shown target acquisition & surveying / scanning
- Everything onwards since jumping into the "Hole" are followers of the chaos god "Tzeentch" Hence the bioluminescent blood
- The big winged vulture looking dude with the spear that releases the enemy to engage the 4 man astartes team is an "Tzeentchian Sorcerer" a high follower of "Tzeentch" that is able to manipulate time within the blast radius of when he landed.
The deamon was attacking each of them based on their fears
the first marine was afraid he is seen as weak, thought he was lying, so it kills him by that fear and switches the words on his suit to lier and so on
the squad commander's fear was of Titus joining chaos and betraying his brothers because he has no fear, which is what they turn into obedience, so the deamon makes him live that fear of being betrayed by Titus and stepped in the back
Titus has no fear, so the deamon finds nothing but the child that's filled with rage but no fear. It has nothing to work with to attack Titus and so it loses.
Presumably this storyline happens after the events of Space Marine 2 campaign. No reaction to Titus.🤣
TITUS is Him
this episode is basically a epilogue to the game btw
11:15 Helldivers is HEAVILY inspired by Warhammer 40k. You guys got the most of it honestly, there's details about the lore but nothing big about what you could have missed
You should react to what is Warhammer by bricky
That is beginning explanation for the lore
Warhammer is confusing if you don't know the lore. But if you know the basics, everything is badass.
Now we're getting to the fun part.
They are not frozen
Good news, the video game should have a resurgence this year when they release a horde mode.
3:20 don’t let the sororitas hear that.
lol I love seeing non-warhammer 40k fans see exactly what a Space Marine can do for the first time.
Nice Outlaw Star reference lol, love it.
Well, "absolute" means death for that mission. But dont forget "Fear forged into obedience. Into faith.", it's just that simple. ;)
What could a soul like that be capable of?
Warhammer is a big big story guys, i been reading books and watching videos of lore and still i dont know everything, but i know the most part and i can tell you this is the best sotory i have read, the people you see in this secret lvl they are not even the main characters hell titus is nothing comparing him to the main characters, there is to many op people and aliens in this no ending hole of lore any way..... I believe there will be Space Marine films and series in future which is good because Warhammer 40k is awesome 👍💯.
Warhammer is peak and has so much lore, but it's great to get into
Space Marine 2 has a great campaign, don’t need multiplayer, but plenty are still playing it :)

I dont think Cavill is going to play Titus. I think he is going to play a inquisitor.
Just FYI there's a bunch of Warhammer 40k video games, in different genres. The most recent and very cool one that's a shooter instead of strategy (and on consoles) is Space Marines 2. I've not had the chance to play it much yet but I know it's going to be fun.
Just wait till you see the things worse than the demons.

Funnily enough Helldivers is very strongly based off Warhammer 40k

Honestly yall should just react to the Warhammer 40k Lore timeline. Bricky does really good videos for entry level Warhammer lore. It's probably one of the deepest and richest lores there is.
been waiting for this episode
Titus is the main character from Space Marine 2 which was game of the year imo u should def play it.
Only it wasn’t game of the year…
Astrobot won goty
Henry Cavil left the Witcher because the Writers were butchering the OG story, n since then he has only been doing cameos in movies because he has been working with the main creators of “WARHAMMER 40K” for a live action show. He has talk about WARHAMMER like a nerd on multiple interviews for years now. He hand paints his own figurines to play a war game with them.
