I had never actually seen an Omega until I bought my own, after years of arguing with myself about spending that much on "just a watch". I wish I had pulled the trigger sooner. My Aqua Terra is a work of art, and I check the time without even noting what time it is, I get lost in the dial, the details and glints of polished detail make me forget to note what time it actually is. I might have been made aware of them because of Bond, but I am firmly a lifelong Omega man now. Rolex just leaves me cold. Omega watches are warm and alive, you just can't help but touch it. I didn't take mine off for a month after I bought it. Now I feel naked without the familiar weight on my wrist. The only other watch I swap it out for these days is my Planet Ocean. I wish Omega made more "stuff", like ad posters, clothing, watch display cases, etc.

I could not resist buying the Seamaster NTTD 007. Irrespective to its connection with Bond, it is a sublimely designed watch. I enjoy mechanical watches but I am rarely drawn into these to the point that I want it and buy it. The Seamaster NTTD was an instant hit for me from the moment I opened Omega's newsletter: I simply had to have it. Very rare moments for me...
I never liked the seamaster 300...especially the shiny dial with engraved waves and the ceramic bezel. However the NTTD is really a killer in my opinion. Somehow much more modern in its execution and so much stealthier...Probably one of the better omegas for a long time. In fact it is almost a pitty that this one is associated to the 007 franchise even though it is hopefully not visible on the watch until you flip it. I hope omega will soon have in the collection a regular seamaster 300 in titanium with the same thickness, mat plain dial and bezel at a lower price than the nttd ... but you bought a top watch in my opinion !

The silicon hairspring was made through a joint industry research project funded by the Swatch Group, Rolex and Patek Philippe. They therefore both have access to this patented technology but each have a different shape hairspring. However the patent will expire pretty soon allowing others to use the technology.
There are only a hand full of hands on start to finish watch makers in the world,and theses are a one of a kind creations.All the rest have production orientation in mind.cnc repeatability for consistency of the part.The process is basically the same for all the manufacturers. The better the presentation the better one thinks the watch is and of course it’s inflated price tag.

I think 15,000 is considered anti-magnetic since that's as high as the rating goes, I believe. They probably have to call it "resistance" for legal reasons.
Hondikee made a test with a 4,500 Gauss magnet on a Milgauss and a Seamaster. Neither was affected by the magnet. 4,500 Gauss is already much higher than what we may encounter in real life hence the conclusion is that both are amagnetic watches.
You should get the Seamaster NTTD or the Aqua Terra Ultra Light. These are fairly light watches from Omega. If you want lighter then you will have to go and check Richard Mille. And of course Swatch offers very light watches too !
I am wearing my omega Seamaster Aqua terra 41 mm golf edition orange second hand. Dollar for Dollar the best watch on planet earth. After the long search for the perfect watch , I have found it.
I have an Omega Aqua Terra but the watch strap has already broken 3 times. twice I had it repaired and 1 time I even had to buy a new watch strap. Because of these experiences I don't wear my Omega often anymore because I no longer have confidence in the watch strap. As a daily watch I now wear a beautiful Seiko and this watch has never disappointed me.

I understand why step Omega to this road. But the truth is, the robots are killed the myrh of the mechanical watches. No more handcraft, no more soul.
