Bimodal distribution is really important for people to be aware of. But people should also understand these are entry level salaries. There's a lot of room for salary growth throughout an attorney's career in small firms, government and public interest jobs. For ex, California Deput District Attorneys in some counties may enter at around $70k, but within a few years can be in the 6 figures.
One still needs to account for a lower salary at the start of their career when choosing a law school. But having a better idea of where they could be in 5-10 years is also helpful information to know.

@@kickboxer2149 I think some schools like Yale posts it. A lot of government salaries are posted online (just look up salary scales for different jobs). And there's a really cool in house counsel salary guide out there which breaks things down like that

Keeping in mind that these are starting salaries, I personally believe $45k a year for potentially $300k+ worth of debt is straight up criminal.

The rankings double round as they factor in cost of attendance and stats etc. if you guys created a law ranking system based on BL+FC % and starting salary for non-T14 schools, it would be way more accurate than the current system. It could say what $ scholarship to each school makes it worthwhile. Schools like Wake (~22), UGA (~20) , Minnesota(~15), and UNC (~20) have way worse career outcomes than some low ranked schools like Emory (~35ish). Emory has close to double the BL+FC of UGA.

Hello? Aren’t these salaries for the grads who DO get jobs? What if you factor in all the grads who don’t get paid anything?

Correct. They are salaries from "full-time jobs lasting one year or more."

Yeah saying the average salary for lawyers is x can be misleading. Average-mean is just a smoothing of data, not necessarily a probability.
Mode would be more helpful if not considering other factors/variables.
