- I had an amazing time visiting the national cat adoption center! It was so impressive to see all the different wings and how many cats they help there.

These guys are doing a great job. The kennels are clean with ample space for their needs and the staff are truly dedicated to setting these cats on a successful path and improving the lives of cats as a collective in the area

Yessss!!!!! I was a part of the charity stream for them! It kicked off an entire rabbit hole of charities and donation streams for me, including but not limited to thankmas world central kitchens, but my first dono of the year last year was absolutely to cats protection via your stream gabs. Thanks for the vlog! Wooo! Put out more like this I promise we won't be upset about it! After all how can anyone be upset when they're looking at kittens!?!?!
Real talk, your content is the biggest reason I started liking cats and why I want to adopt one myself some day. I learned a bunch about them through you and would love to adopt from a shelter and/or contribute to rescues some day. My future cat thanks you!

Look at all those little babies! Thank you for sharing this. My cat suddenly passed away last year, I’m still recovering from that loss, but I definitely want to rescue one in the future.

I lost Emerald - she was 22 years old but still sprightly.
I now have a Cat Rescue kitten from Cat Action Trust, called Casper. He is nothing like Emerald and I will always miss her, but he is good company.
I'm really sorry for your loss. Pet loss is an incredibly traumatic experience for many. But I am confident your cat was so loved and happy with you and lived the most fulfilling life! And in the future you'll be able to give all this love to another cat that will get to live their best life with you!

Sorry for your loss. Consider two especially if you get kittens. They entertain each other and keep each other company when you are not there or working. Is easiest with kittens but can be done with effort on adults. Cat whisperer has videos that help if you need them.
Coming from a vet tech in New Jersey, US that facility is gorgeous 😍 Any animal rescue organization would be in heaven to have a facility like that. For such a short clip, you can tell the staff is so dedicated to finding proper homes for their kitties

The chattiness is adorable right up until it starts happening every time you lie down to sleep lol. I do love having "conversations" with my youngest, though. It doesn't matter that we don't understand what's being said, it only matters that we're interacting and bonding in our own way.
I sometimes wish I could see how BB would interact with my void princess, Udon. Would like to see if playdates with other amicable cats would be good for her.
Honest to god I did not expect either of them to let go of the little black kittens, that was so precious when Evelien and Seán were holding them 🥹

Thank you for all you do for Cats Protection for raising funds in your charity streams. I am a fosterer for my local Cats Protection branch and have been doing it since 2015, and Ive had a few of my ex fosters go up to head office or the National Centre, even though I have never been to the main centre I have heard its big. Once again thank you for all you have done and to those that donated.
The tiny editing moments here with the 💢 kitty thwap and the 💛 nose boop really came for my heart. ☺️

Such a wonderful looking place! Education is just as important as handing out cats to people. I tried volunteering at our local shelter when I wasn't quite as sick, long before the pandemic, but the only jobs they could give me were laundry, cleaning accidents, and cleaning the restrooms. It's great when you can see right where your money is going.
Unfortunately in my case with the shelter, tons of laundry was not in my physical abilities, and now is impossible, so no luck. I also used to be an official in a voluntary service organization in high school. We'd rase money and awareness for conditions, especially ones affecting children. We supported a big group home in our state and we had our officer training there so we could see the place and the good they were doing. It was great.
I teared up with joy! This is so heart warming. Seeing you play with the kitten made me say "Naww!" out loud serveral times! So freaking adorable!
Gosh that place is amazing. The cats look so healthy and the facility is so clean! And seeing how many cats were homed and the average amount of time a cat spends there, I want to cry it makes me so happy

I was a little confused when they mentioned that cats are not social animals though. I work at a local cat shelter and plenty of those cats are incredibly affectionate toward either a companion cat or humans in general. Often times we recommend they have a buddy with them in their new home because they want to be around others so badly, though we make sure to tell people when a cat isn't fond of other animals too. Some might be solitary but cats are individuals and they have their own needs that are not always the same.
Yes exactly! Two or three is kinda the purrfect cat number, especially two if you can get them around the same age. Pair bonding is so important to cats.
They meant with lots of other cats. Often in media cats are portayed as living with "crazy cat ladies" in houses filled with many cats. As well as that, being in a building with many many other cats, it can sometimes be stressful for some cats to be around so many other cats at once for a long amount of time. But you can tell with like how there's the black kittens together, they know pairs and such are fine :)
@Sky-jf7ft I know that too many cats in a room can be stressful for some cats. I've heard plenty of horrible hoarding stories at my work. I just wanted to mention that cats, no matter the age, can be with other animals. Maybe I just misunderstood what they said in the video? Thanks for clearing it up for me!

This reminded me of my days when i volunteered at my local animal shelter. I still remember so many of the cats :’) The two black kittens reminded me of two kittens that were siblings at my shelter. they were total brats and would climb on me but they were so cute 😂 I wish all shelter animals could have this good of a place to live before being rehomed! I also love that they microchip and spay their cats at this facility before they send them to homes! my local animal shelter does this too. This video totally made my day 🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing this. My Cat Rocket, of 13 years was recently diagnosed with a very, very aggressive cancer. We've tried somethings to help it but after some checkups.. we have only a little while left with her. I love seeing how much you help these little ones - i've donated to help in the past and i will do again! With a matching donation to my local shelters.

Those two black Kittens remind me so much of when my two blackies Luke and Leia were like that. Next month they will be 3 years old and are so precious to me, they love playing with their big brother Niko. I love this blog, I love cats, and seeing what a good job they are doing warms my heart (and makes me cry lol). People who say they hate cats is because they haven't met the right cat yet imo.
I recently adopted my own kitty. He was abandoned by his previous owner. My front door was open and he walked into my house, into my bedroom, and just slept on my bed. After neutering him, vaccinating him, giving him a good bath, he's now my baby boy. He's single handedly the clingiest cat I've ever met. He will only sleep with his head on me at all times. In the middle of the night, he'll tuck his head on my arm.
I guess the point of my story is, please adopt. You are giving these cats a home they will appreciate so much. Especially if a cat chooses you. That's a done deal at that point.
Gab, thank you so much for helping these cats to live a better life. Your heart is made of gold and I hope that one day I can do what you do too!

Im so glad you vlogged this visit!!! Not only was it an absolute delight to watch, but the education is so important for people who want cats and even have cats already and maybe don't take the best care of them.
My 2 cats are rescues, and they were a real tough case to see; feral kittens put into negligent foster homes, and then I rescued them at 6 months old. They needed a metric shit ton of patience, work, and space to get any kind of adjusted, and only after 2 years have I really noticed a daily difference. But I knew and respected that cats need the independence and the time to figure things out for themselves; they're not like dogs that are dependent and come around rather quickly (in most cases). It sets me into an instant seething rage when I see tiktoks and videos of people scaring or otherwise torturing their kittens/cats bc they jump and "haha cat go *boing* funny", but it's not funny to them and it's very damaging for them over the long term. If everyone gave their kittens and cats respect and independence, there'd be no one saying "my cats just an asshole" and they'd realize the torment they put their kitten through turned them into the asshole cat they are today.
I didnt realize I was ranting about cats until now. Thanks for the lovely video Gab :)
This is so heart warming. Almost all of the cats I've had were rescues. As if now I have 4 cats who are 14 (Bubba), 12 (Missy), 5 (Critter) and 2 (Aurora). There are some disagreements between the older and younger ones but they are still learning their place.

They're ALL SO ADORABLE! seeing the lil ones reminded me of how tiny my fur babies were when I brought them home...they fit in my ballerinas...now they take up entire chairs.
Our family used to donate a lot to the Cat Protection when we could afford to, I think my mum might still donate to them. They do great work and I believe we might have gotten our childhood cat through a contact of the Cat Protection, but I don't remember. Super cosy vlog and it looks like you had a wonderful time ☺️💖

Those little black kittens have my whole heart!! I adopted two little black kittens about 6 months ago now when they were around that size, now they're so big!!! I didn't really notice them growing but to look at that...they've gotten wayyy bigger than those little cute balls of fluff!!
So many sweet little faces!! This is awesome - so cool you can help them out. ❤ the black kittens remind me of my two, Freddie and Zora.
I wish I could adopt them all! I really want to give a cat or dog a home, but I'm not in the place mentally or financially to care for another being. But seeing them being taken such good care of and hopefully finding their forever homes warms my heart! ❤️

As a fairly new fan, I had no idea Gab was such a kitty warrior. Honestly makes me love her even more.
I saw the title and clicked immediately! I love cats. I have a kitten that me and my husband rescued from the streets back in August 2022. We think she wasn’t out there for too long because she looked healthy and the vet even said her vitals and everything were great. We named her Simone. Her and our dog are practically best friends ❤️
This is precious. I work at an animal shelter and I'm always up for cat enrichment. Its nice to see these healthy cats, I'm glad to see they had everyone in PPE playing with kittens. However, cats as a species ARE social. They evolved from African cats which are pride animals. However, every cat is different. Theres issues in describing animals species in wide swathes, it ignores the needs of the individual. Thanks for promoting adoption! We microchip all our animals so I hope they manage to as well!
I love that the thumbnail is a black and white cat and the kittens "showcased" during play were black. Black cats are often overlooked because of silly superstitions and/or prejudices meaning they take longer to find a furr-ever home for. But theyre just as lovely as any other color cat! Well done Gabs and CPL! Being owned by a mini-panther or a dapper tuxedo is awesome!

Wow, it's really amazing how much space they give the cats & kittens to live within, as well as all the work they put into making sure the cats have the best chance of a successful rehoming. Even with this short video, you can really tell how much the staff care, and it is fantastic that they have such an impressive facility to work with.

We have 3 cats already and this makes me want more 😂 two indoor cats that were sisters from an adoption center and 1 outdoor cat who I made friends with and now she’s our garage cat that comes and goes 🥺 I love all of them

I just adopted a 7-year old black kitty named Odin about 6 weeks ago from our local shelter and he's brought me endless amounts of joy (and some measure of anxiety as a new cat mom), and is just the best boy. Shelters, especially no-kill shelters, are such a godsend!

Ohh cat’s protection! 😭❤️ growing up our family adopted two older cats from here (one whose owner had passed away, the other who couldn’t move to her owner’s new apartment). They really are so thorough in making sure they go to the right new home (the cat bios on their adoption sites are always so personal, honest and cute). Great to see the support 🥺

What an amazing facility and such cute friendly cats. I love how wholesome and kind you and your content are and the community you've created here. All my cats are rescues and I volunteer for a local cat rescue and fostering program that specializes in disabled cats. Its always so amazing to see the cats that come from the streets and the wild learn that humans can be safe and grow to be brave loving cats.

I was working in an rescue animal shelter for years and I am glad that people are shwoing more and more interest in shelters. Thank you for your work and that you are giving a future to animals that had a rough start or moment in life.
Lookit all those sweet faced kitties! They all look so healthy and content. Such an amazing charity. I love they had everyone glove up and suit up with the kittens to not spread contagion to their tiny immune systems. They really care about making their time at the center a positive one so when they transition, they have every chance to thrive.

I was so happy to see adults & black cats in this video, because they're some of the ones who have a harder time getting adopted, along with disabled cats - we adopted two adult kitties when I was in middle school and they are my babies. one of them is missing an eye and that's part of why we adopted him. I mean we immediately fell in love with both of them lol but we also knew that he would have a harder time getting adopted than many other cats there. our other cat was his best friend and we found that out the next day when we went back for him and we're so glad we did, they're like brothers & we love them so much. thank you for all of the work you do, I know all the kitties you help would tell you how thankful & appreciative they are if they could!
