Old video but through my research, bubbling O3 through a water column (tank) really doesn't integrate it into the water, 90% of the ozone generated floats to the top and isn't absorbed. a Venturi drawing O3 into a pressurized tank (10-50psi) is a more effective method of oxidation.

So would injecting it right before the water pressure tank work?

Great Job Alex!. Can you get us some more info on how to piece together the Ozone system on the cheap using spa parts? I am looking to setup Ozonation for a 600 GAL backyard system.

an exception to what he says about only two types of water softeners, replacing calcium with sodium or potassium, there are other options, such as what we've been using, Katalox Light media which is different, and does not require salt or potassium permanganate regen. backwash cycling. i really learned a lot from this video and his other one, so i ordered a Del Ozone 100 module from LoveYourHotTub, for our settling tank. i was planning to use a pool chlorinator, we have 25 ppm iron and bacteria from the well.

Anyone interested in adding ozone to your water please do yourself a favour and do your own research. I know this video is dated but look into AGP and Mazzei injection. No need for "airpumps" and UV bulbs to generate and push the ozone into the water. With UV bulbs and Ozone generation you need the right type of UV bulb and the output is approx 1/3 of a quality generator. In this setup the only ozone most likely coming from the generator.

Good job Alex! I have been drinking o3 water for many years and washing all of the veggies in it before consumption. You video was tremendous. Time to build a smaller version of one of these for the bathroom water for drinking and for dental health. I would put one in every bathroom. How about trying your hand a smaller version for people on city water systems and not just wells. Standing by for a sink type system. Proud of you ... Dr. Bill

put the ozone bubbler inside a corrugated paper filter in the tank, it draws the water through the filter removing solids, regularly rinse the filter to maintain efficiency

Great video. Thanks for the effort. Have you noticed any rust bubbles appearing on your well tank? My well guys claim the ozonator is he cause of these rust spots, and installation of the ozonator actually invalidated the warranty on my well tank. I've patched a number of spots, both with welding patch plates and JB Weld type repairs. Eventually I will have to replace the entire tank (going to a non-metal replacement).

Now add a bunch of activated charcoal into your ozonating tank, it creates fullerenes (my guess) and feels amazing in your brain and cures sinnus congestion issues instantly. Also super amazing with psychedelics especially ayahuasca

What is the best storage tank material for ozone resistance? Can't some plastics breakdown into the water itself?

Hello Alex. Hey would you mind making a review or simply check on some videos here about the ozone laundry systems that some companies are claiming that you don't need to use detergent to wash your cloths anymore and compare it with your ozone water treatment system you show in this video, and please give us your personal opinion about it. I would deeply appreciate it if you could do that for your followers. Btw, I love this video!!

  • @markalankrueger

Ahh! Found it at Revolution Ozone! Why are the plastic ones cracking? Is the plastic being used in the factory light sensitive to extreme oxygen? Triple O should include stainless UV lights to begin with instead of offering a two year warranty with two extra plastic lights.

The Mountain Garden A little known fact is that Alex is that he was born with a fuzzy striped tail, he normally keeps it hidden under his Florida Keys T-Shirt, but from time to time it comes out to wag, especially when he is in a good mood. He declined having it removed because, well, it's a fuzzy tail! 7:30 in the video. Sorry I let the cat outta the bag Alex. :)

Many growers are unaware of the level of oxygen present in their irrigation water or that raising the level of oxygen in the water will produce a plant with a better root system.
Also, more oxygen equates to better taste in drinking water

I'm planning to build a system like you have. Thanks for the tour.
Questions: How did you set up your well pump to automatically top off your cistern? Most well pumps I've seen have a pressure switch. Did you have to setup a float valve in your cistern and rewire your well pump?
Do you run your ozonation 24 hours a day?
    Thanks!

i see that unanswered comment was 2 years ago MrLedee, how did you end up setting up your cistern float valve?
I'm doing this now, and am a bit leery with my choice, a Schneider float switch i've mounted to the top of an IBC 300 gallon tote. makes me wonder if i should have used one of those switches that u anchor to the side of the tank and it floats and hangs freely from its tether/cable?

    • @TheMountainGarden

This is polyethylene tank. We never use chlorine, the ozone is enough to kill anything in the water.

    Couple of comments:
How are you preventing over oxidation so you don't produce soluble and harmful permanganate? Isn't the fact that your water has oxidizing properties evidence of over-oxidation?
Secondly, it seems that if you're getting so much sodium in your water that it becomes unhealthy to drink, you're doing something wrong. How much calcium is in your water before treatment?
