  • In this video, you will see the removal of an old, cheap sump pump, and the installation of a high-quality sump pump plus a backup sump jet that requires a backflow preventer. both pumps are made by liberty.

    1. You can connect them to the same discharge pipe? I always wondered why not but everyone says not to. Not sure why its a problem(non plumber here) as because the whole point is to just have a back up for the malfunctioning pump that's no longer working. 2. what are those metal rods that so nicely hole things in place specifically called so I can order thanks. Again non plumber and not a super handy guy but a home owner and having to learn this stuff...paying someone cost my first child now a days lol thanks.

    Yeah, I bought one of those Sump Jets and a Zurn 720A but I'm not confident enough to install it, so it is still sitting in the box.

    Do we need to install the double check wall assembly you added for this sump jet to work?

      The problem is that you are connecting your drinking water system up to a dirty old sump pump. You need to be very careful.

      @@davejoseph5615what if you add a check valve on the 3/4 supply that feeds the back up pump

    A 90 deg vent elbow on the discharge pipe. Really?
