I wish I could zoom in on the stitching, it's kind of hard to follow because both the leather and thread are black RIP. But it looks like when sewing together the two bottom pieces in the beginning and sewing together the two top pieces towards the end, kind of looks like lacing shoelaces??? I think I'm just lost on the stitch where you sew together and overlap the top and bottom pieces.
I want to wear a plague doctor inspired outfit during the pandemic, like a long black coat and a top hat, but in my country it can get you in trouble to be anonymous on the streets and stores often refuse to let you in if you wear a full face covering mask, so this half-mask would be a perfect solution!
Thanks. I usually do time lapse but since this was a short build I wanted to try something a little different. I'd probably go back to time lapse in my next build.
I have a couple of questions because I’m interested in trying to make this but I’ve never worked with leather before 😅 When buying leather to make this, how much would you say to get? Also, what was the tool you used to punch out the larger holes? What kind of needles are you using to thread the string through? Thank you!
It doesn't take much leather, maybe about 1 square feet or a little more. I used a 1/8in hole punch to make the breathing holes at the bottom. As for the needles, I used 2 inch blunt tips, very typical needles for leather work.
i really like the half plague mask accessory, would love to wear one someday! literally reminds me of overhaul xD
This is the most beautiful hand made plague mask I have ever seen. You have my compliments.
Be prepared, Mirio. I'll be coming for you 🙂
Anyone have an svg for this pattern? Even if it's paid. I wonder if all of the extra steps in the beginning can be done with a cricut maker.

Thanks! yeah I made this mainly due to the inconveniences of a full one. Hope you enjoy it.
Great video! Very helpful. If I could add a suggestion, time lapse would help a lot! But either way still love the vid!👍

how light is this? also what material did you use?
Hi! This is so cool! I was wondering if this pattern would be adaptable to fabric?
I've never done it, but I've had several reviews from customers that have made this in fabric, with some adjustments.
Paintyee Sweet im gonna give it a go!
Could I modify this to work with a facemask?

How's breathability in this? Have you done any tests by wearing it for prolonged periods of time? Thank you!
I haven't done any prolonged breathing test with it, but there are enough breathing holes in it that I'm sure it'll be fine
do you think 4oz leather would work well for this or would 5oz be better?
4 oz would work, but 5oz is better, as long as there's a stiffness to it.
@@Paintyee thanks a ton!
I have a. Ton of extra leather
