Great video! I bought one and I think that this tool should be in every car. Even if you have roadside assistance, who wants to deal with being stranded somewhere with a dead battery?
I'll think you'll find its just a regular flooded battery, and its only a small capacity. Yes it is used to turn the engine over, if it goes flat, you're shit out of luck, despite the lithium battery packs the vehicle has. You can do a cranking test on a Prius. When the device asks you to increase engine speed to 2500rpm for 5 seconds, do it, then press enter ... It has already recorded the data it needs and is just going to show it to you

How can a battery that's been sitting around for a while showing only 49% voltage yet show 2 more cca amps than what it's rated at maximum when it was new??
Hi, thanks for this. i've just bought one and apart from needing to replace my battery the cranking test came up low for me as well. is this something i need to worry about? My charging test came up fine.
I know you posted this a long time ago but low charging can be more than just a faulty alternator. If your batteries internal resistance is too high, it can cause low charge. Likewise with loose/corroded connections.
An important note: there are a lot of adds that the bt100 pro test 6v battery and thats not correct. If you connect a 6v golf cart or solar battery the device indicate on screen low voltage and the test can not be run. For 12v this device work great trust me!!!

Will work for riding lawn mower. Such as a John Deere Hydro 185?

I think you misinterpreted several of the readings as well as the battery in your car.
