  • In this Dyson Airwrap video we’re focusing on the conical barrel attachment and how you can use this to create the best voluminous, bouncy curl results. This unique barrel design-wider at the base and narrower at the tip-creates a more defined curl, and I can’t wait to show you how it works.
    I’m also giving the i.d. Curl feature another try, now that I’ve had a chance to fully understand how it works (or at least I think I do!). I’ll walk you through the steps, share tips for getting the best results, and give my honest thoughts on this styling tool.
    If you’re curious about the Dyson Airwrap or the conical barrel attachment specifically, this video is for you. Let me know in the comments what you think of this attachment and this look or if you have any questions- I’m happy to help!

    Stunning result Chlöe. You’ve definitely mastered the technique . Slow, neat, methodical and trusting the process is definitely the way to go. This is night and day compared to your last flustered attempt (which did make me laugh I must confess) 😊

    I lost my curls because I dye my hair and I'm awful with curling irons. My hair gets stuck and I burn myself struggling. I know it might be too expensive for someone good with this stuff but for me it's a saviour. I'm not even great with the back of my head but it works.
    At first I couldn't figure out the app and tried to use the cooling button which made it even harder for the back of my head but after this video I can use it perfectly. Now it saves time. Thanks a lot. ❤

      @ I did ! I found to Let the curl set when it's still hot & not use the cool shot worked best for me! However, I spent $850 AUD for mines and I don't quite think it's fully worth that money so l still have a 45 day return policy on it. Still playing around with it seeing how I go but not thinking it's worth that money xx

    Great final result. I’ve been struggling with the 30mm conical. It grabs the right hand side of my hair really well but I’m having to wind the left side. I have the 20mm conical one from the previous version and that has such a stronger grab. You seemed to have mastered the technique though so I’ll stick with it. The cool shot definitely isn’t as cool as the previous versions.

      Thank you 🥰 and ahhh really? Perhaps try holding it almost around the middle like I do here and guiding the end around first (personally I think this works best anyway and keeps the section nice and neat rather than just letting the airwrap suck it all up from the very ends)

    Fab video - thank you! I usually spray with hairspray after I release the curl - -never thought to try this while cool shot is on. I don't have this version, just the ordinary Multi styler. May I ask how you would clean the barrel? With so much hairspray I imagine this will get quite coated with product and it would be really helpful if you can advise the best way to clean the barrel of product build up?
    Also, if you had to chose, would you stick with the ol version Multistyler or choose the new ID one? I have very fine, thin, poker straight hair prone to get oily if too product is used. What would you recommend as products to prep my fine, thin straight hair? Thanks again, your video was great and so helpful 😊❤

      P.s I should have said old version Multistyler above!

      Thank you - so pleased you enjoyed the video 🥰
      To clean hairspray or general products off from tools, wait until they’re fully cool and give them a good wipe with a baby wipe or cotton wool pad soaked with warm water on & squeezed out so just damp
      I didn’t actually have the old airwrap beforehand, but I do know that the attachments are actually larger with this new I.d. curl one I have (the round brush and both of the wand attachments are wider) and some of my viewers have noted that for fine hair, they will be sticking with their old one because of the smaller heads which is completely understandable because if your hair is fine, naturally quite straight or struggles to get shape then you want the smaller sized barrels
      And not sure if you’ve seen some of my other videos but I always recommend the Maria Nila volume spray (it’s very lightweight and doesn’t make the hair sticky) and comes out like a fine mist which you blow dry into damp hair
      I also LOVE and used to use on my fine haired clients the Kérastase densifique mousse - it’s soooo lightweight and just plumps the hair up giving fullness and body
      Hope this helps! 🧡

      Hello, I have both versions. I bought the new id in haste because I thought my older one was dying not realising it was different. I also have fine hair that doesn’t enjoy lots of products. There are pros and cons. The biggest cons for me is that there isn’t really a cool shot anymore because it is now to turn on the Bluetooth. The cool shot was very good if I was pinning my hair or had more time. The id is only for when you are using the barrels. I often watch UA-cam to elevate the boredom when doing my hair but having your phone close by it keeps trying to connect to the Bluetooth, so remember to turn it off. The app can also glitch and not work. The pros are if it is set up perfectly to suit your hair it cuts the time down. There’s a three stages roll, heat and cool. Flicking the button up moves you on to the next one. I’m not mad as apart from the fast dryer all the attachments were new to me but I would buy the original as I feel it’s more reliable and will last longer.

    • @ChloeSwiftStylist
      @ChloeSwiftStylist  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you so much 🧡 I definitely think the airwrap is great for curly hair - I’d smooth out first with the smoothing brush like I did here. If you are after a real smooth result which lasts, I would say ghd (duet blow dry) is better for smoothing curly hair and for this result lasting… but then it doesn’t give this level of curl of volume I’d say - they’re so different! Maybe also check out my video with the shark flexfusion as this really does everything 🧡

    Great video Chloe! I would love to try the conical barrel as I think it would work well with my fine, thin hair. I do have a 20 mm barrel, but it barely sucks up any hair at all so I have to roll up my hair manually. Do you think the conical barrel would have better "sucking power"?
    Also, have you tried out the new Dyson hair products - ie, Chitosan pre-styling cream & Chitosan post-styling serum. They are supposed to help hair styles hold longer plus reduce frizz.

    • @ChloeSwiftStylist
      @ChloeSwiftStylist  Місяць тому

      Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 🥰
      I don’t think the conical barrel necessarily has better suction but I believe the suction has improved with the attachments on more recent updated versions of the airwrap. So this is the brand new airwrap and if you have one which is a few years old, this could explain why your suction is not as good as what mine appears to be here?
      And no I haven’t tried the Chitosan products yet but I want to!

    Is it possible to do this one handed, if it was already sectioned? From what I understand it it supposed to wrap “itself”, but i keep seeing you starting the wrap manually - can you please just show us if it can wrap all by itself? Im getting another shoulder surgery so it would be super helpful if it can do it without me turning or twisting it (which required you to leave another hand up so you can finish twisting all the way to the root….but i dont “think” you need to do that. Is that correct?

    • @ChloeSwiftStylist
      @ChloeSwiftStylist  Місяць тому +2

      Yes it could grab the very end of hair by itself, I think I explained in the video but I’m holding it at least half way up the hair so it can get to the roots sooner (helps dry root which is thicker and holds more moisture) and then again on the top, this was very different here and yes I wrapped it more like a tong again to get it on the roots first and this is what has helped create the root volume. You can definitely let it wrap itself from the ends up, yes 😊 it may not be as neat with the section but totally doable

    I thought the softer hairbrush attachment was to be used behind the hair to create volume in the hair while smoothing. The final look is so nice.

    • @ChloeSwiftStylist
      @ChloeSwiftStylist  Місяць тому

      Yes you could still do this too and kind of lift the roots up and bevel underneath, it won’t get a huge amount of volume - but rather smooth the hair out whilst still keeping some body to the hair 🧡

    No, don't buy. Dyson is not better than your usual hair dryer. And definitely not good for curling - waste of time and product. My ordinary curler takes less time and delivers a result. This one doesn't!!!! My hair curled with Dyson is back to straight regardless of product amount or quantity that I use.
    It doesn't make your hair shiny. It doesn't take away the fizz. The cheap options that you find on the Internet do the same job, if not better. But I wouldn't recommend you any. If you have a good straightener and a good dryer, don't waste your money on Dyson. Better buy yourself a spa break and enjoy it. I regret buying a Dyson and regret giving it a chance, I should've returned it immediately. I am still using my old appliances.
    Out of 10 people around me that have Dyson, 8 regret buying it. The other 2 have bleached hair that does stay curly if curled by Dyson or its cheaper version.

    Great tutorial but spraying hairspray while the hair is on the wand is not recommended and I would think this is bad for the tool. It’s far too expensive to risk damage.
