    Prof. Dr. Uda Bin Hashim is an eminent figure in the field of Microelectronic and Nanoelectronic Engineering. He earned his BSc Hons. degree in Physical and Applied Physics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1987 and subsequently joined Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) before moving to MIMOS Berhad. Over 14 years at MIMOS, he gained extensive experience in CMOS wafer fabrication, including international training in Ireland, the USA, Germany, Japan, and Kyrgyzstan. After completing his PhD in Microelectronic Engineering at UKM in 2001, he joined Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) as a lecturer, eventually becoming the first Dean of the Research and Management Unit and later a Senior Professor in Nanoelectronic Engineering. At UniMAP, Prof. Uda Hashim played a pivotal role in developing the microelectronic curriculum and establishing a state-of-the-art teaching fabrication facility, the first of its kind in Malaysia. Under his leadership, the Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE) was recognized as a Nano Malaysia Centre of Excellence. He has published extensively, with an impressive H-index of 41 and over 8569 citations. His research interests span nanobiosensors, DNA chips, and nano lab-on-chip devices for applications in medicine, food, and agriculture. Prof. Uda Hashim's contributions to science have been widely recognized. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Malaysia Research Star Award and the Top Research Scientist Malaysia award. He holds 13 patents, with significant commercial applications. His ongoing work includes leading projects on COVID-19 diagnostic devices, emphasizing rapid and accurate medical diagnostics
