For those of you who want to make a version of this that is less unhealthy: Use 1/4 cup of olive oil instead (which is more than enough) and omit the pancetta completely. Use all lean ground beef (85 % or higher lean) for the meatballs. Bake the meatballs in the oven in a two-layer pan that has holes in a top pan in order for fat to drop out. There, now you have something delicious *and* healthy.
Our son just landed in New York this morning! That place is a melting pot of good eats, for sure. This recipe is not hard at all to make. Can't believe more restaurants don't use this sauce for their red sauce. Maybe they'd have to sell their tables as real estate, too. Absolutely ridiculous. Thank you for sharing.
Not to bust, but you said crushed, but used chopped. Tut offers 3 versions of its SM “style” tomatoes and they are all excellent. So, which is it? Chopped or crushed ?
RAO's jarred sauce is a joke , I tried it once to see if it was worth the insane amount of money , nope , it's worth the same as a 1 dollar can of tomato sauce , Lovely cooking show you have young lady
Thank you, Anne ❤ I agree, most jarred and shelf stable products aren't worth a salt! Rao's is def capitalizing on the "name". More power to them, though!! 😘😘
In this day and age of inclusiveness, I’m surprised they keep people from dining at their restaurant. Their loss not letting you eat there. Should be first come, first served. I am guilty of buying their marinara in the jar. It’s the only jarred sauce I buy.

The best meatball on the planet. Been making them for years. Great video.
Couldn't agree more! And thank you 😊
Awesome as usual, best channel on this platform
You're the best! You've made my day!🥰
Well I made this last night and it was delish.
@meangene8437 yay! It is delicious, isn't it Gene? And so simple, too. The least fussy meatballs I've ever made. My new go-to recipe 😋
Yes, not complicated at all. We just had the meatballs and sauce with garlic bread.
I found the same recipe on the NY Times column. I like to use the meatballs on a sub/hoagie/grinder rather than over pasta.
I LOVE meatball grinders 😋😋
Looks fantastic
Thank you 😊
Amazing love your videos
Thank you, that makes me smile😁

When Jimmy Fallon made meatballs at Rao's restaurant, the recipe was slightly different. Looks delish!
