Rattle cans are handy for touch up work. Hard to be certain on the computer, but that shade of orange looks very much like "tower orange". I have found paint colors called
"tower orange, tower yellow, and tower red". These are specified colors for high visibility and safety for airplane towers and obstructions. I keep remnant (qts. and gallons bulk size) cans of alkyd oil base enamel paint in those colors on hand in my shop (for brush on, or you use your own spray guns, and find they're way cheaper than using rattle cans, if you you have much to paint...) and have found them great for sign painting for high visibility. Then I discovered they are also the perfect match colors to our road signs, down here in the States, anyways. Our "Stop, Caution and Warning" road signs here use these exact same colors. I've even restored road signs using these "Tower" colors. I'm a fabricator also, and enjoy your channel. When I fabricate right of way gates for the US Forest Service they specify a yellow paint that is identical to "tower yellow". Easier than color chip matching, just look for those "tower colors" in the quality paint brands.

Great info. I use the rattle cans only on very small touch up work. Yes they can get expensive. On the large fab jobs I'll use the HVLP guns and transport enamel by the gallon. A local automotive paint supplier mixes it for me. For the Kubota Orange I've also found Chevrolet orange being a very close match and when blended you'd never notice the difference. Appreciate your comments. Nice to learn stuff from others and thanks for the sub.
      Keep safe down there.

Re the grey Paul, for something you can make up, I took the grey tremclad and added black as necessary to make it match.then add Wet look hardener. worked perfectly..

Yes I've done similar especially when shooting paint with the HVLP gun. I think most are hoping to find an inexpensive oem colour grey off the shelf in a spray can.

My cost from OEM is nearly $15 while the local hardware store carries a cheaper paint which is also a great color match at around $6. I think the durability isn't as good as the OEM thought. I can't find a replacement for the grey yet.

I really like the quality of this paint. I used both the oem and this and I don't see any difference in it. Let's hope it holds up as well.

Hello, wondering if you have any info on the "excavator black" that kubota uses on there construction side of things? The orange on my excavator is called"bright orange II" from kubota.

    • @7863348
      @7863348  2 роки тому

You can check with your Kubota dealer. Some dealers sell their paint by the shaker can or even by the gallon and if that don’t work take a panel with that colour on it to a good automotive store who also sell paint and they will have a scanner to scan that panel then get the paint code to mix you that colour. Good luck.

Paul my Kubota dosn't have the front fenders on it do you think they actually help protect the tractor or are they just for looks?

I did that mod for the cool factor. I don't think the BX can go fast enough to flick debris from the front wheels so lets just go for the looks lol.

Bill Longland If you are in the USA Massey Paint (Red and Two Greys) and Kubota (Orange) paint is available at Tractor Supply. Can buy it in spray cans up to gallon jugs. It's very inexpensive, I think under $5 a can.

Interesting name change by one vendor, or just poor typing.
Valspar sells one named "kbota" and it seems to get good reviews on Amazon. Sells for about $.8.77 USD currently for a spray can.
    www.amazon.com/Valspar-5339-24-Orange-Tractor-Implement/dp/B000LNWUXG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8
If you spell it "kubota", then the products can be purchased by the quart (for a sprayer) for approx $14.34 USD.
    www.amazon.com/Valspar-4432-24-Kubota-Tractor-Implement/dp/B00A92BJP4
Odd, or interesting, or maybe neither. :-)
