JOHN. PLEASE DO NOT STOP SHOWCASING THE UPCOMING TALENT! I appreciate that above all other bmx bloggers. from the little guys...to the constant bangers, you cover them. And it may not seem like it to all, but for that one rider who works hard to land that one trick you film.... It must mean a lot to have the world to see on your channel. Not to mention, I appreciate what you do and how you expand your videos to not just the riding, but to showcase the full extent of the bmx culture. PLEASE DO NOT STOP WHAT YOUR ALL READY DOING. For the old guys like me, and the up and coming... Much props John Hicks.
Hicks, what's up from Alaska! the personality in these videos is what has kept me here. There has to be substance within the videos. If you're here for just tricks, you're not here for the right reasons. Also I just want to say a huge thank you for what you've done for me. My brand new bike got stolen about a month and a half ago and it really brought me down but your videos are what has kept my motivation! One of my amazing buddies is letting me use his extra bike until I can get my own again, so every single day after work before I ride, I watch your videos, get hyped and I go out and give it 100%! You do a lot more than just make videos, John, you impact peoples lives. Keep doing what you're doing. Thank you for your hard work, -Jake p.s. (from other videos) POV action cam clips are awesome with the right angle, i hope people don't turn you away from using them.
I like the mix in your videos. A mix between real life, and great cinematography. The group rides where everything is chill and laid back and everyone is just out having a good time are my favorite videos. Keep up the great content!
Man I'm deployed overseas and I look forward to your videos everyday which is one of the highlights of my day over here ( don't tell wife hahaha). Can't say that I would say change anything up just keep them going......PEACE
You are definitely right man, the creator is a big part in the success of the channel. What you are doing is awesome. Angles, music, your camera settings etc. I watch tons of UA-cam, other thank BMX also, and I enjoy vlogging as I have a few videos up myself. But all the stuff I watch all the BMX channels I follow. Nothing gets me as hyped as your videos! And like I said I don't know you what so ever except what you put in your videos. But just how engaged you are in the videos makes me hyped for the next days. I've seen other videos where you were at filming and they make a video and it is incomparable to yours just because of your personality and your own style. How you keep us on edge waiting for the next clip or what not... idk man don't stop whatever your doing because it's awesome and I really appreciate the work you put into EVERY video EVERY day. Because I know it's not easy!
You can tell you're really invested in what it is you're doing and what it is you want to do. You see the potential of the path that you're on but want to remain true to all the BMX heads who started following you from the start. Follow your lead. Follow your heart as corny as that might sound. Progression and change occur but you'll still be Hicks. You have to be authentic to you. Thank you for the content. I never imagined I'd be watching so much BMX.
From Colombia, I have to tell you that I love to watch your videos and the way you show BMX. I lost my bike in an accident but thanks to your work I'm near to the sport I love
I have never ridden bmx properly in my life and probably won't in the future but I love all of the OSS related youtube channels and especially yours. It must be nice knowing you are entertaining people who have nothing to do with bmx like myself. Your videos never seem rushed or uploaded for the sake of uploading, keep it up man.
When i wake up everyday first thing i do is check if the boy john hicks uploaded a video 🙏🏻, every video you post is so well edited and filmed that i look forward to checking what your going to upload tomorrow . Favorite youtuber no doubt and when you ride with peep game that shit gets hella crazy ! 😂 i love it makes me wanna go ride all over town , i appreciate what you do on documenting this sport ✊🏻 .
What I like most about your videos is the positivity and good vibes you put out and it's not all the same stuff either you get out there go to different spots with different faces and I really like how you shed some spotlight on the young guns and just meet so many people so much diversity so much southern Cali culture I use to live out in Santa Ana and I spoke with you briefly at the Still United Jam when they premiered the video and it never fails anytime I wake up in the morning and watch your latest content and it's uplifting it just pushes me to get out there and ride and I can't thank you enough because you have more of an impact on people's lives than you could imagine thanks for everything Hicks !
Good job you keep it real its just another day in our lives as BMXers. No attitudes, No egos, No glam, etc.Ive only started watching for a month or so. Digg the rides through the Getto's COoL. Keep it reel🎥 Adam... 🏁🏍
wise words spoken, to be honest when i started watching this channel i wasnt even riding bmx but now i feel its in my blood. very motivational stuff john. word up from vancouver island. BC
Yo Hicks your an inspiration to me bro Im an 18 year bmxer I gave up on bmx after I got my hip replacement on June of 2012, now last year November 2015 I had a knee surgery I tore my meniscus thought about giving up but I started watching your videos man your truly an inspiration you motivate me to go out riding we need more people like you in this world I'm sure your inspiring many teens from different parts of the world. Keep up the great work. Peace
Hicks I really appreciate how involved you are with the community of BMX i really dont think you even know how many people that ride you inspire i watch all these guys when they see you try to go big when you are filming you are making a big inpack .. you may not be some pro rider but your name well be up there with the best of them people 20 years from now we'll talk about when John Hicks films was around you are an error in its own I wish you much success and keep doing what you're doing
As an unsucessful young, black, filmmaker from the absolute middle of nowhere who is in love with bikes/biking/bike culture, you are exactly where I want to be in life. The personality, the social group, the following, everything. Hearing tidbits of your past with bmx and filmmaking makes me so inspired. From that I genuinely know that I'll eventually reach my stride one day. All of the thousands of miles ive ridden and the years of footage ive recorded will be of some use to other people some day. Keep doing you to the fullest my man. I have no complaints or criticisms. Just stay human and keep dudes like me all across the world driven. All love and positive vibes from Indiana. (P.S, I watch you before bed every night.)
Hey man. I'm 28 just got back into riding again trying to squeeze it in between hectic lifestyle , love your channel! Learning a lot of new things too keep up the great work man 🙌🏼
Love the style of your videos Hicks! Its awesome how they show all different types of things in one video but have a couple key components that your fans like, Keep at it man!
John u inspire everybody to get up and jus ride I can honestly say being a bmx rider myself if it wasn't for bmx and u I wouldn't be here today thank u John hicks
Another great video hicks . I like the fact that its not just wall to wall tricks with some dodgy sound track. you put great personality into your films along with all the great riding keep up the good work
Glad you turned into someone for kids to look up to as a role model figure. Nice to know those streets didn't tear you down just made you want to grind more. Respect Man
HICKS, im all the for the idea of having the videos centered around whats going on in your life in the present, evolving as you do too. As a bmx rider of ten years no doubt i love seeing the riding. But the dialogue that you create along with the riding makes these videos special to me. With that said, your hustle is inspiring and captivating. Your story is yours to tell my friend, and I'm glad your logging it for the world to see. Cheers from Asheville, NC.
One thing that makes your videos great to watch is the fact that you're living in LA. The "California-setting" makes everything look so much better imo. Not saying you're videos aren't good anyway but the great weather, cool city, nice scenery just make it so much cooler. I mean most of us don't live in such a nice place. This was one of the reasons why I initially started to watch some of your videos tbh. So I think you should make sure to always bring some of that Cali vibe into your videos ( the sunken city video was cool for example)
I really enjoy these videos Hicks! I look forward to them almost every day keep it up! Much love from Boise Idaho. You inspire me to start my own vlog. ✌🏻️
A man I live in Tulare ca and I've always wanted to learn how to do tricks on bmx but just never happens . Keep up the good work and always keep trying to Change the negative to a positive .
Always killing it. The q and a is interesting too. Liking the idea of interviewing some riders in your videos. Hyped you got merch too.. Waiting on that tshirt drop to place an order!!
I've never rode a BMX bike in my life but I agree with that last guys comment you're genuine and you vids are put together well they're entertaining as hell.
Seriously, there are so many great BMX channels with crazy tricks compared to this, but I like your personality and attention to detail in your videos.
that dude elliot trunk was right you can see the amount of effort you put into your videos through filming , editing , riding , just pure hours put into your videos , ive always said it and always will you deserve way more subs that you have because of the work you throw into your vids .
i dig the responding to comments section. you said you suck at talking but you're more willing to just "talk" than a lot of people who do these sections and sound like they're reading off a script. kinda follows what i've said before about this being a more "real" channel than most cause you're showing all the failed tricks and little stuff going on around you instead of a scripted 10-20 minute "TV show" where everything goes just as planned. makes total sense cause you said you're into documenting more than anything. all i can say is keep it up, i'll be here watching.
Hey John, I'm new to the channel and I'm going to be honest, man. This channel is fire. I love the content you post, and the way you document everything. I love how the content you post makes people feel connected, in a sense. This channel got me hyped on BMX. Keep doing what you do, man, I'll be following.
Love the interview idea, I think you'd actually have good questions for people not just like how much do you drink and smoke like some people would. I love your channel you inspired me to get back into filming and making videos, not necessarily vlogs. But edits, and music videos, and things of that nature
Aye hicks, i discovered your channel about a week after i started riding bmx and i have to say your videos give me the inspiration i need to keep going and send it. I hope i could be as good as you are one day. Thanks for the inspiration and keep doing what you love ! 💯
I really like your videos I was on UA-cam about 2wks ago your video was recommended and now I love watching your videos I already was into bmx but now I am more than ever you really inspire me to bmx more
Your edits have been getting better, don't stop improving. Also, at the beginning it was dope how you started over the park and flew down to yourself. It was like a rendition of 'Where's Waldo' that I'd call "Where's the lightskin homie with the bike and camera gear all over the bike lane.' That could seriously be an intro you use a lot though.
Hicks, the tricks and all that stuff is great but to be honest, I wouldn't of subscribed if it wasn't for how much of a genuine and nice person you are, you inspire me and others to be a good person and also to keep riding BMX. Keep up the good work! I look forward to your videos every day even though they come out at like 2am for me haha. Love you HICKS
Hey john my names Henry from London England love the content love seeing LA through your eyes keep it up man I watch all your videos you brought back my love of BMX so thank you look forward to more videos 😃
Love the way you film , certain clips like (FLOW) the close up slow mo angles are really fire I want to see more of that .. Watching your daily videos and the rest of onsomeshit motivates me to ride everyday and progress much love from Miami keep doing what your doing .
Here in spokane there is not much to ride so always inspired to ride and hang with the homies and helps when some one out here is putting in work like you
your positivity and motivation is so nice to hear every day. Its dope to see that one person actually wants everyone to try there hardest and push what they love doing. Keep up the sick work, Shouts from Cheltenham, England
I agree with don't stray from bmx. But if you ever get bored of it, I'd rather watch something you enjoy filming. If you're bored making a video, I'm gonna be bored watching it. So do you man, love the videos
you're that man john, I love your filming...I'd like to see more spot searching, everyone's got parks near them, but LA is a dream destination for most because of the street spots. Idk just my thoughts I just always love the discovery aspect of a new find
Yo man I'm a blader and when watching your videos it inspires me to go out and skate even though you film bmx, I guess that's cause I'm the only blader where I'm from and I skate with a load of bmx's haha. Keep up the dope videos man your the sickest UA-camr out there 💪🏾
you got me hooked to TCU, Hollowatersesh, and riders especially Begin who i just met now im hyped that you got your own channel and grinding dope videos keep it up. San Jose
Hey what's up, just wanted to say great videos and keep it up seeing lots of uploads frequently and I like it even tho it's john hicks film, I don't feel like I see you ride that much, this video was better but when you are with groups I don't see you pull out a trick. That's what I have to say keep up the good work🤘🏼
Hey John I'm a huge fan of all your videos and can't wait for them to come out each day. I think what makes your videos so special is that it's the full package. You always have banger clips but I love it how you interact with the viewers, almost makes me feel like I'm almost there. Keep doing what you're doing and I'm sure you'll make it big. Hit me up if you ever plan on coming to New Zealand! Cheers, Bill
Yo Hicks. Much love from Malaysia. I watched your vlog on the daily and one thing is that, it inspired me to wanna go to LA and experience the culture and the place itself. Your documentary on Venice Beach and how the atmosphere is like, what Skidrow is and DTLA itself is fire. Would love to go there one day.
Hey man love your videos!! Seriously like that you pay such close attention to your followers and that you do truly care about your content. Stick with bmx though, ride or die man!!! You're videos are starting to grow on me and I'm starting to seriously consider getting into filming and photography in Phoenix, AZ where I'm from. You kill it man! Thanks for just being a great guy and portraying your personality and thoughts into your videos. Makes it a lot more personable. Keep killing it!!
honestly started watching you because bmx now i watch you because your videos are great and they are just so entertaining to watch and i still do watch for bmx
Adam LZ got me started on watching BMX and even got me interested in riding, but your filmmaking is way more my style; it's artistic while still being relaxed. Overall you just seem like a genuine and dope person which is why I gravitated towards your videos over other vloggers and filmmakers
Honestly one of my favorite UA-camrs I love all your content love everything about bmx I'm inspired by the group of people you hang with and you I started bmxing when I was about 2-3 and have been riding all my life and recent got put on the Haro Development team and would love to ride with you some time. Stay Up and Keep The Dope Videos Coming
Keep up the great work much respect... Love the videos I look forward to seeing them as soon as there up... Been out the bmx game for a while (work/family) but I feel like a never miss a step watching ur videos....peace outtttttt from Chicago
Yo John I watch your videos daily! Keep doing what your doing. It's entertainment for me since I've been out of the game for the whole summer. I also watch other vloggers and I personally like to watch your videos the most. More videos of the OSS boys and the PEEP-GAME dudes 🤘🏻
im here to watch you homie! Dont ride bmx or even have a bike... keep up the good work bro love your personality and film making technique. imma always support you freal
Keep doing what your doing Hicks, been watching the channel everyday since I saw your first video. If I wanted to watch tricks only I would go buy a BMX vid, vlogging keeps me coming back, Cheers!
your vids motivate me so much to get a bike and ride, I'm saving up and about halfway there. it sucks how expensive bikes are and since I live in canada it's even more expensive, but keep up the good work
Yo Hicks honestly i used to not care about Bmx atall. I just thought it was boring but from your videos Ive actually started to like it a bit. I still wouldnt do it but i can atleast appreciate it now. i ended up finding it interesting because of your videos and i might just take up film too. Just wanted to tell you Keep up the good work homie. Mad respect from Bc Canada.
i really like watching you guys progress and get better with riding...thats whats keep me coming back and watch your videos...unfortunatly my bike is shit as hell^^ iam just on an old 2005 felt vault complete...this dont make that much fun to ride...but i will continue riding! Greetz from germany mr. hicks keep it up man
This is a bit late - But I just found your channel a couple weeks ago. But to go back to your one point / comment at the end. Im loving the BMX stuff (Even though I have never been into it. I was into Aggressive skating for over 20 years), But what got me subscribed and loving the vids is the lifestyle and your personality. Even as a skater for over 20 years. I get it all. So by having a good mix of BMX / Lifestyle will get you a variety of subscribers.. Even the guys that don't ride. I would still love a monthly edit of all the best BMX clips
couldn't agree more with the ending of the video .Honestly love the content and the amount of personality in it if that makes sense love your vids pretty much watched them all and they got me more into bmx I was always into it but your videos got me motivated to get more into and now if I'm in school or at home I'm thinking of what spots I could hit on my bike your channel is a huge inspiration for me so thank you youre doing an amazing job with the channel and bmxing keep up the great and hard work but don't forget to rest every now and then
I'd enjoy like a behind the scenes, maybe show your editing process and the production that goes on between filming and the video hitting the channel. Other than that keep it up, your films have inspired this middle aged man to pick up a bike again, and the feeling that gives me is the freedom I felt when I used to ride back as a kid. Thank you.
hey my name Is Ricardo Rodriguez and your shit is really inspiring I started riding when I was 12 and I'm 16 now and to be honest your videos Is what keeps me riding. I wanna find people like you to ride with that don't put people down that would be great. I think your a great rider and you killed it in this video. I just made this UA-cam channel I haven't put nothing up yet but I will soon. hope we can meet and ride some time. keep doing what your doing thanks
I agree with you on how you want to put more personality in your videos. You remind me a lot of Scotty Cranmer and his channel has developed a lot like how you want to. Keep inspiring, because while tricks are inspirational enough, backstory completes it.
I'm from Portugal and your vídeos are an inspiracion to me keep doing a good work like you have been doing I like the fact that you exposed a rider life, since I start watching your vídeos I rarely watch TV I sold my bmx a couple months ago because I needed and now I'm joining all the money I can to buy another one and see your vídeos gives me strength thankx for it and keep doing what you are good at riding bmx and vloging 😉👌👍
JOHN. PLEASE DO NOT STOP SHOWCASING THE UPCOMING TALENT! I appreciate that above all other bmx bloggers. from the little guys...to the constant bangers, you cover them. p.s. (from other videos) POV action cam clips are awesome with the right angle, i hope people don't turn you away from using them.

You just make the cleanest vlogs outta everyone I've watched bmx or normal, just daily class content!! Keep smashing it from England!
hicks is a vlogger who knows how to film and edit a video very well. props man. keep em coming.

Love you HICKS

your positivity and motivation is so nice to hear every day.

Idk just my thoughts I just always love the discovery aspect of a new find
really enjoy the new filming angles you seem to be trying in the videos
Yo man I'm a blader and when watching your videos it inspires me to go out and skate even though you film bmx, I guess that's cause I'm the only blader where I'm from and I skate with a load of bmx's haha. Keep up the dope videos man your the sickest UA-camr out there 💪🏾

Would love to go there one day.
a weekly recap edit of ppl you film that week
Loving the content lately John. You've inspired me to ride bmx and get into film making/videography. Keep it up
I'm from Germany and i find you make The best bmx Videos on UA-cam
very rare do you find a seriously good filmer that can ride to a high standard! mad props bro!
Keep killing it!!
honestly started watching you because bmx now i watch you because your videos are great and they are just so entertaining to watch and i still do watch for bmx
waking up and seeing a new video gets me hyped!!
Adam LZ got me started on watching BMX and even got me interested in riding, but your filmmaking is way more my style; it's artistic while still being relaxed. Overall you just seem like a genuine and dope person which is why I gravitated towards your videos over other vloggers and filmmakers
Thank you for another awesome video John !!! 💯💯💯
talking is never boring it gives your perspective
so glad I found you. i been looking for good Bmx videos and since Bmx vs. security I've been a huge fan. your the best #earlyGaNg

Yo John I watch your videos daily! Keep doing what your doing. It's entertainment for me since I've been out of the game for the whole summer. I also watch other vloggers and I personally like to watch your videos the most. More videos of the OSS boys and the PEEP-GAME dudes 🤘🏻

What's the ig
+Zelik Medina they literally said it like 5+ times in the video
+tclbmx at least you got it right
This is a bit late - But I just found your channel a couple weeks ago.
Do whatever you want with your video as long as you keep the roots in bmx it's dope
couldn't agree more with the ending of the video .Honestly love the content and the amount of personality in it if that makes sense love your vids pretty much watched them all and they got me more into bmx I was always into it but your videos got me motivated to get more into and now if I'm in school or at home I'm thinking of what spots I could hit on my bike your channel is a huge inspiration for me so thank you youre doing an amazing job with the channel and bmxing keep up the great and hard work but don't forget to rest every now and then
I'd enjoy like a behind the scenes, maybe show your editing process and the production that goes on between filming and the video hitting the channel.
Ayyyyy. John Hicks with another fire film 🔥. Keep doin you and your thing man. So blue tho haha 💎👌🏻👍🏼
John hicks I'm from the Caribbean and I enjoy watching your videos keep it up
I agree with you on how you want to put more personality in your videos. You remind me a lot of Scotty Cranmer and his channel has developed a lot like how you want to.
Keep inspiring, because while tricks are inspirational enough, backstory completes it.
I'm from Portugal and your vídeos are an inspiracion to me
keep doing a good work like you have been doing
I like the fact that you exposed a rider life, since I start watching your vídeos I rarely watch TV
I sold my bmx a couple months ago because I needed and now I'm joining all the money I can to buy another one and see your vídeos gives me strength
thankx for it and keep doing what you are good at riding bmx and vloging 😉👌👍
I hope I get another bike going and ride with you one day. The vibes are gold"
That interview idea is dope. You should definitely do that.
