While their lives in captivity are bleak, the one thing I've learned through all the books and documentaries is that the trainers truly love the orcas. It's why so many trainers found it hard to leave SeaWorld- because they couldn't bring themselves to stop taking care of them.
I actually feel like SeaWorld was way more open with the public in the past. They used to do documentaries like this ALL THE TIME. Now because of everything they’re way more closed off. This old footage just makes me so sad. How have things gotten so much better yet so much worse?
