The fact that Adidas and Puma are both German brands founded by two brothers who split up after a falling out, and that the two gaming console rivals are choosing one over the other, actually makes the whole thing funny.
Funny came here to tell the story of Adolf and Rodolf Dassler as well, people thing adidas is sone kind of acronym but is just adi short for Adolf and das short for Dassler.
That record making "toy" is a collab between Yuri Suzuki, Jeff Mills and Gakken Magazine. Jeff Mills being "the Wizard" founding one of the most important Techno Collectives in the world in the 80's (Underground Resistance), being known as "The Master of the 909" (the Roland drum machine) and still to this day an incredible performer/producer/artist. Yuri is a musical artist, in that they make art from music or music from art, but also is a product designer who has worked for Teenage Engineering and Disney. Yuri has made experimental instruments for many people, including Jeff, and this collab with Gakken (science magazine in Japan) and Jeff is an effort to keep the wonder and fun of vinyl available to everyone.
@@gogomonstertruck To me, they kinda have the same footprint as the puma’s, like PG’s shoes went to add some functionality to the playstation design, while it seems like travis n puma use the logo primarily. A little corny, but PG’s are game console shoes, not corporate reskins.
Austin I'm pretty sure that the record player recorder did work because it works by putting the vibrations into the inside of the groove so It recorded everything that it heard around it plus what the speaker at put on there
The game scent was a kinda cool concept though. Reminds me of those cartoons back in 90s that would have scratch and sniff cards to follow along with in the episode. The Wild Thornberries was the best one
fun fact. Adidas - Adi was short for Adolf as in Adolf Dassler, the founder of adidas, his brother Rudolph after years of working together, they had a falling out and he split off to make his own company, Puma.
2:19 @austinevans you got that ass backwards Xbox had to settle for Adidas and PlayStation got Puma. It wouldn’t better with the other way around because I wear a bunch of puma clothes and I am on Xbox.
Actually, the puma brand was purchased by Adidas years ago like many years ago actually. Even though the two brothers found it after the split the corporate entities ended up merging as recent as the early 2000s I believe possibly 2010s.
There was a PlayStation X Nike collabs with the Air Force 1 and a PG sneaker. And there was an extremely rare Travis Scott X Playstation Jordan 1 low that goes for 25k
Game scent would be nice with some meditation music or right before bed with some lavender etc. I could see a spot on my nightstand or even in my living room but not as it’s given use but as something that sends good smells to match my music
That game scent thing might actually be pretty cool if you’re playing in VR and want to be more immersed. Only problem is if you play with a headset on, it won’t hear the sound cues.
I'm surprised there was no "Do not try this at home" disclaimer for the mini-saber. I could see some child watching this and then grabbing their parents and playing with it now that they know what it is.
Man I love Hacksmith but $100 for a Torch is a little hefty when you can get them as low as $3 at a corner store and they can get pretty intricate without being expensive
@@maxkendal5152 Can you explain, im lost as to what you mean just for future refrence, im only in late 20's never really used a record, a good example of this is we never had a tv that wasnt flat screen. I remember the one as we grew up was an lg it had a dvi port no hdmi and only supported 720p. was a plasma tv. Also when we upgraded the tv service when hdmi became a thing we had to use a surround sound for sound as the dvi to hdmi didnt support sound. It was very expensive. Interesting XBox/Addidas, Playstation/Pumas. Two rival companies makes deals with shoes companies that formed from the rivalry between two German brothers.
The record cutter; If you can't hear the speaker, it ain't working. Somehow no sound is getting into that thing. Are you sure it's supposed to be hooked up to a normal line output?

You hit The head on the nail! And i dont really see Puma as a brand you settle to..
Though PlayStation did have Adidas product placement in Spider-Man 2 last year and irl.

Never would i think austin evans would have a dab torch on his channel and not even realize what it was for.
Yup, the only use for a torch
The fuck is a dab torch
@@Death_Sweet the marketing for this torch was specifically for that so
@@Quade-torch for taking dabs, aka smoking weed

What an absolute delight of a collaboration!

Honestly Paul George’s playstation shoes clear both the xbox Adidas and puma’s

@Crylilbro6473 why would someone not use the app perfect skip everytime straight to content
Shh we don't talk about sponsor block out loud. UA-cam trying to get rid of it. Keep it underground yo
