TURN ON CAPTIONS For secret silent explanation! Huge tones from the Pittsburgh Modular Taiga Keyz. These patches were too nice to hide in a talky review/demo so i thought i'd put the sounds up front and centre in the heart of the action.. it's what its all about after all.
There are 4 tracks in total.. trying out different patching ideas from simple non-patched using the internal semi-modular internal patching to duophonic mode using an additional VCA to split the oscillators into 2 groups - 2 osc going through the filter and 1 osc going through the Low Pass Gate.
I've used the arp, the sync'd LFO to modulate the waveshapes for a pseudo filtering effect, the mod tool to control the filter cuttoff and I think on one of these I might have been using the random mod tool to add some randomness to the BBD for a lofi chorus effect - if not try it anyway! Once you start you cant help exploring :)

wow, that opening was impressive.
Terrific usage of subtitles- it really enhances the underlying ideas without interfering with the music. Well done!
Thanks… I don’t know why I never thought of it before. 😁
@@StarskyCarr I suggest you mention it in the video description or at the beginning of the video- in case others don’t already have CC enabled.
Great demo Starsky :)
Cheers, means a lot coming from you.
All sounding great mate! Love it 🙂👍❤
i was just googling the keyboard version yesterday, love that 2nd track, soulful, thanks as always.
Love it . Sounds like Crash course in Science. Great tracks💯
more videos like this please, is important to see demos of machines in a music context only too
Thanks. I try to put stuff like this in most of my reviews, but sometimes i think they get lost.
Loved this mate, it really is a powerhouse in the right
hands 🙌
We'd better find the right hand in that has.. ;)
Slick tracks! Neat sounds from Taiga well conceived, adroitly performed. Listing to these on a Saturday night. Your jams do indeed evoke Saturday night vibes. Good stuff. That bassline to the Big & Beefy track... *drool*. 🤤
Great tracks. The Taiga is a beast! Just discovered your channel. Subscribed. Thanks.
Another Carr 😁
Love the tracks! Thanks for showing some of what Taiga Keyboard can do. I like the idea of the release knob as a performance control.
Thanks.. and yeah the beauty of big knobs!
@@StarskyCarr I really hope you took some samples from these jams. Amazing sounds. Great tracks too.
that was frickin awesome! good to see someone who teaches who's actually a gun at using them. well done!
Nice panel layout visually
I really hope you sampled some of the sounds!! Really great jam as usual.
I made some wavetables of those wavefolding oscillators
@@StarskyCarr Great, thanks
Oh my, that sounded really good.
Absolutely LOVED those tracks Mr S. The third was …oooo tell us what was on drum duty please :)
We need more of this sort of stuff, love the reviews but getting back to just some tunes..bliss.
Yeah. I use the reviews as a way to explore different synths and different ideas. I rarely finish them as a complete track .. just do the fun bits! Its crazy how many people don’t realise the effort that goes into the tracks in the reviews (or don’t even listen to them) .. I know the views on this will be much lower than other stuff, but as I realised there were 4 nice little demos together I thought I’d put them out separately.
The are all impressively different, I almost forgot you where demoing a synth… it does sound good. I’m trying not to focus to much on this … my gas really is being ticked. Hope you get a load of positive feedback and get motivated to finish and release some more on here.
@@StarskyCarr but he asked what was on drum duty! :) I was wondering too - the Taiga wasn't doing drums was it? I know it could, but that would be pretty impressive, the way those sounded
@@billmcnelis5999 drums are samples. nothing 'interesting' like vintage DMs or anything.
Great video - love that you actually did music with it. Many modular type videos are just water dripping sounds and overmodulated flubber-noise
ooh flubber-noise, that's my next challenge :)
nice tunes! ❤
Les sons sont sympas. Bravo
superb!
[Looks directly into imaginary camera] “Nice!”
Great😉
🔥
* also are any of your tracks/songs/ditties on Spotify? I'm always looking for new synth music to listen to
What modules did you put in the 2 slots?
Also, that last segment sounded like The Future/Pre-Human League stuff. The more I hear of this gizmo, the more I think I want it, but it’s competing in my GAS headspace with the Mantis.
There’s a Qbit Mojave - a granular effect. I’ve been playing round with it so wanted to give in an outing. The other is an MFB visual VCA - to do track 2 an extra VCa was useful. (But not 100% necessary) - having the eurorack version I knew it would be handy!
Same problem in my GAS headspace. I like the basic sound of the Taiga, but after all I‘m more a preset than modular guy => Mantis!
Veddy nice 👍👍
Thanks you veddy much 😂👍
Ok Ok.....I want one :)
phat^^
