I think Fawcett will surprise a lot of people. Dude has bulked up and should get a go early with our injuries. He has to be ahead of our draft picks as a key forward. Teams normally play a back 7, forward 7 and mid 7 and have the 22nd guy either an extra mid, def or ruck. I'd roll with this first round Back Vlaustin, Blight, Broad HB Treszie, Balta, Brown bench Miller who also pinch hits in the ruck C RalphSmith, Taranto, Banks Fo Nank, Hopper/Prestia (who ever is fit), Seth Campbell (for pace) Bench Mcaullife. HF Lalor, Fawcett, Mansell FF MRJ, Lynch, Bauer (third tall and plays second tall when Fawcett/lynch is resting) Bench Steely Green. (Between Green, MRJ, Mansell and campbell resting forward that's alot of speed/pressure) Last guy is Short play him halfback or mid if needed.
The interesting thing is that no one - not even the club itself - has much idea what their best 22 looks like at this stage. It will make for an unpredictable first half of '25 but I'm not buying the doomsday prophecies that says they must necessarily finish bottom 2. With a bit of luck with injuries & guys like Lynch, Prestia, Gibcus & Hopper all playing regularly the team must improve. It'll also be interesting to see which of the draftees hit the ground running, play the first game & then have the most impact.
Good content mate, rate your team and knowledge! I rate McCauliffe really highly and he looks like he’s spent the off season in the gym so would love to see him step up and be a regular mid
Questions: Tigers drafted 8 players & 10 players (4 traded, 4 retired, 2 delisted) left, so what happened with the other 2 places? Were they filled by upgrading rookies? If so, why didn't they take anyone in the rookie draft? And, do they have a train-on player they can take in the PSSD? Can't find anything about it on the club website ....
I’d like to see a young key forward aswell but you don’t want to have to many debuts in round 1 against Carlton so I agree! Maybe give them a second to warm up in the vfl
They're not rumours, theyre quotes from Yze "Mykelti is moving really well. He’s done one before and he’s a powerful man so whether that helps but he’s probably in front of a few of the bigger boys. So Tylar, Judson and Gibcus are a little slower than him but going well. I think from round 3 or 4 they will start to integrate back into some footy. So at the start of the season they will be unavailable but they are progressing nicely."
On the big stage get a few young blokes out there to experience it. My Rd 1 team would be B.- Vlastuin Gibcus Broad HB.-Balts Blight Brown C.- Ross McAulife Ralfsmith HF.- Lalor Faul Campbell F.- Rioli Lynch Mansel R.- Nankervis Tatanto Prestia Int.- Smillie Short Hopper Banks Sub.- Trainor I don’t rate Hopper , to me he was a big recruiting blunder
I wouldn’t risk it with Gibcus and Young to early on the hard grounds at that time of the year where in the past injury’s has happened Rance , Gibcus , Cousins ? All in that round 1 game. I think we need Balta back with Blight who did a good job on McKay last time 👏👍. I think Armstrong or Faull could get a game to have a key forward with Lynch. Lalor and Smillie are more than capable of doing some damage coming of the beach or as Sub ? But I do agree don’t play to many of them in round one! Bauer is a must in the team up forward if fit ?
Not convinced Kossi will be in the final 22, i think you have a pretty well rounded team though. PS No way are we winning 8 games, but li like your confidence. I still think if we win 2 or 3 it would be acceptable.
I think Bauer will start over Kosi and I'd expect Armstrong/Faul to play over Kosi too. Otherwise, if U have Gibcus playing then Lefau would be playing who they say is ahead in terms of recovery who would otherwise play. If Gibcus does not play, I'd see Brown starting and one of Trainor/Trezise/Blight taking the spot on the bench. I think the major issue is going to be back-up ruck. Lynch isn't durable enough for that position, Kosi didn't do well which is why they played Ryan. This could potentially be a reason Sims actually get a game to fill that back up ruck position
@@centrehalfbench7 I think 3 debutants is doable considering our draft haul and mass exits Plus we have an emergency we can always sub one of them out. I think it's important we get the new kids in big games so they get that experience. The recruitment team spoke a lot about drafting kids for those big games where it matters and Round 1, will game at the G is a great place to start. But also depends on their pre season and injury updates
Yeah Taranto look completely burdened and to be fair was and gave up on so many contests, we were in so many games but literally had zero belief to finish them out for the win and I feel like they manifested that into reality. I want to see the Tiger Spirit win, lose or draw and get them back doing a bit more work on mindfulness like the old days and start the kids heads out right from the get go. Great job
If Ryan doesn't play we still need a back up ruck and Lynch isn't durable enough for that role. So Sims has a good chance there unless Faul or Armstrong can also learn some ruck work
I think with Bauer he is a 3rd forward option ? Not your key forward he does need to be a forward/midfielder to complete his game up forward ? And bring pressure on the opposition backline! I like him in the team as if you deliver the footy to Bauer or Armstrong more times than most they won’t let you down in front of goal! You can have the best mark but if they let you down in getting the goals with opportunities then it hurt the team. Bauer and Armstrong still have a lot of work to do in development of there game ? But if you understand they are leading forwards and you kick it out in front of them where there Strength is at ? then they will kick goals for you. There are many great key forward in the game that where like that Jason Dunstall and Tony Lockett were some in the past that you needed to kick it out in front of them with good disposal and let them do the rest in finishing. Some would say Jeremy Cameron is a lead out forward as well? I think Faull and Sims will be more the marking in the pack forwards as Armstrong and Bauer are lead out forwards that can do damage to the opposition in front of goal. The best thing is we have options now to get the mix right? And if we can understand to play to delivering to each of the forwards strengths then we will do well with those’s options! Its so good to have big key forwards now that we didn’t have much of in the past other than some of are greats in Riewoldt and Lynch in recent times. I also said when Riewoldt retires will miss him a lot ? As you need Forwards that a least 90% of the time you know they will kick the goals the team needs as a key forward! 🏆17 🏆19 🏆20 🐅🐅🐅
Great work. You just need to stop mentioning Harvey Langford we didn’t even draft him 😂
🤣
I just hope they play Kozzi over him 😂 we may be one short otherwise.
I knew someone would pick up on this, only realised when I rewatched it once it was uploaded hahahahah. Meant to say Harry Armstrong 🤣
Great vid…always enjoy them…
Thank you boss really appreciate it

Yeah he’s looking huge as of late… pause

yeah he has gotten absolutely huge over the offseason! Also appreciate the support
I reckon hopper should play half forward. Can kick a goal and can play a little bit tall.
This is the best one I have seen. Used facts and opinions
Hopper should be used off half back because he has a good footy IQ and very good kicking skills
Interesting call

@ damn I knew I forgot someone lol, I’ll fix that
No Bauer is criminal
I like this team, would just swap Sonsie for Hopper the spud
@@seanprice2990 not a fan on Sonsie

Apparently Fawcett is also looking the goods
Yeah he looks like he’s put on a tone of weight
06:51 I’m pretty sure Harvey Langford won’t be playing for Richmond in round 1 especially seeing he was picked up by Melbourne in the draft. Lol
Hahahah I knew someone would pick up on this, only realised when I rewatched it once it was uploaded hahahahah. Meant to say Harry Armstrong 🤣
Kozza could have a better season then last if Lynch can stay fit all year. Kozza isn't a number 1 forward, hes a number two at best
Not convinced Kossi will be in the final 22, i think you have a pretty well rounded team though.
PS No way are we winning 8 games, but li like your confidence. I still think if we win 2 or 3 it would be acceptable.
If balta plays back, then miller can pinch hit in the ruck and kosi can Get comfy in the vfl
Yeah if our team was healthy we could win a tone of games but we will probably win like 2 lmao
If smilie has the tank, i would love to see him on a wing
Interesting maybe in the first year
If everything went perfect we will win 8 to 10 games. But I'm guessing tho it will not be that way. So I'm guessing 6 at the most.
I think Bauer will start over Kosi and I'd expect Armstrong/Faul to play over Kosi too. Otherwise, if U have Gibcus playing then Lefau would be playing who they say is ahead in terms of recovery who would otherwise play.

Blight over Miller, Faull or Armstrong over Kosi, the rest looks pretty decent

I’d love to see Bauer start
Sims will play before round 4

Kozzi aint getting a game in our AFL lineup. Armstrong, Jonty, or Fawcett surely ahead of him imo🫡
Let’s wait three months before this speculation, hey?
I'm failing to see how we lose a game this year
Hahahahah real
Jonty Faull instead of Koshitzke
Yeah probably later on
Hopper shouldn’t be in the midfield should be a half forward/ midfielder playing more half forward
Look I don’t think we brought hopper in to play half forward but he may play there more this year
Bauer 192 cm lol
There’s a website that has him at 190 or he was just generalising and rounding up to 190
@ club website has him at 192 cm
