Thank you very much Mr. Puzzle for your beautiful Video and Review!! Yes, of course there are even two better ways to open the slider with just a light bump in the right direction and with the right movement. You need to think a little out of the scheme, solution is not immediate, but I assure you can guess it from some logical deductions and allow open the slider very easily. Will be wonderful to see another review in the future where you try to find at least one of the two smooth solutions to open the slider, I'm sure you'll reveal the secret!! After watching this Video, on the description of next GEARLYs I'll definitely need to add that is"prohibited to bump the Puzzle either too hard or in a way which can force and damage it, solution don't require this" ;) , even if it will suggest the solution, otherwise the first instinct is to start bumping it hard randomly, risking to damage it. Thank you again, glad you enjoyed it and see you soon for the next Review!!!
@Brian Cairns I appreciate your suggestion. Not physically possible in this puzzle, it should be completely redesigned, but I'll clearly keep the suggestion for next ones. Anyway no big bumps are required, but only a good one in the right way guessed from logical deduction, but maybe better to specify in the description. Thank you
@Brian Cairns Thank you very much, I appreciate. I actually was not going to redesign it at all, but only inserting the new sentence on the description, because first: the actual full solution is not yet revealed, and second: I assure the slider can be removed with a light bump if you discover the trick behind it. No brutal force is needed and there is no reason for it to break, also during testing the puzzle using light bumps. Also, the Puzzle is stronger as it seems, unfortunately Mr Puzzle found the most weak point, and also was not warned from the puzzle description to don't bump either too strong or with the two discs in a bad position which can force them, what happened happened. Anyway it's the first time I see one break, I bumped a puzzle very hard everywhere and I also threw it from the second floor and was still in great conditions =) The unique thing then is to insert the new sentence on the description to avoid that people will start hit him strongly or using brutal force. It's more difficult as it could seems finding one of the two solutions but I assure there is a logical reasoning behind everything. I've manually checked and solved many times any Gearly in circulation. Thank you again for your comment
You should use stronger materials perhaps laser cut opaque plastic or acrylic would be a far sturdier option. Would probably move smoother as well. Imo you can't really expect someone to find the so called correct bump position on a hidden component like that, its up to you the designer to make sure things like this cannot happen.
@@simonw3858 Thank you for the comment, and appreciate the suggestion. Already tried different plastics, too rigid and crack even without bumping due to the puzzle shape. Less strong magnet will allow either to unlock the puzzle too easily or not to lock it during reassembly. Therefore, I added a particular, which was almost guessed in this video, to help the solver guessing the correct way to lightly bump with logical deduction. Therefore, I'm expecting that requiring not to bump hard the puzzle, solver can find the right way to solve it. It can be a difficult request, as you think, in fact from my point of view here is the difficult of the puzzle. As long as there is a logical way to guess it, it's part of the Puzzle. Anyway, as you said in the other comment, I surely learned many things from this first experience, especially from good comments like your, I'm glad for that and already I'm working on a new Puzzle =)
I really appreciate your honest appraisal of each puzzle; you give really good critical feedback where necessary and even your rating scale is very consistent.
Yeah I don't like puzzles that require being struck, for this very reason. The magnet has to be pretty strong to avoid people accidentally bumping it, so you have to hit the puzzle and risk damaging something (like your table or hand). And of course you don't necessarily know if bumping is required or not, so it could be pointless.
Apart from its obvious shortcomings I really liked this puzzle. He’ll be sure to improve it after having seen your struggles 🤪 But I also loved mt.Fuji, so beautiful 🗻🏔⛰
That looks like an interesting puzzle but more of a frustrating experience just unlocking it once you know the solution rather than a pleasurable experience
4:36 lmbo, that surprise LUL 8:53 at first when you said broke I thought it was some strange way of saying you solved it, like you 'cracked the code' or something, but I guess this time it wasn't just a linguistical variation 😂😂
My thought with the Fuji book would be to drop a thread through the middle, and tie that to a button. Stick the covers together to hold it open (with something like blutack, some removeable sticky stuff). Then you could hang it for display.
I'm not a fan of the lazer cut wood. I understand it saves on production costs but it would be nice if there was another version that was not cut by lazers. I'd be willing to pay more for one like that but I just don't know if I could get behind this version. Its just a matter of personal taste.
I missed the point of the first piece that was removed... ultimately it was put back in, and left in for the remainder of the solve. Was it just a red herring? That gadget made my eyes go wide in surprise, was not expecting something so beautiful from a tiny lil book.
Hi Groo Wanderer and brian Cairns! The piece you're mentioning helps the stick to move from one magnet to the other thus freeing the way out and then keep the stick attached during final solving, otherwise the way out will be closed again by the stick. The piece itself is not able alone to unlock the mechanism, you need a light bump in the right way which you can derive from some logical deduction.
I feel like bumping those thin gears into your palm is rather painful lol. Bumping would make more sense if it was a flat side or if there was an indicator to hint you to do so
The maker rated it an 8/10, but what do you rate it??? It seemed pretty simple compared to some, it was just difficult to open the single locking mechanism.
I love your channel Mr. Puzzle! You may want to know that it's not a good idea using gestures you don't know the meaning of. Italian gestures change their meaning (wich can also be offensive ones) according to different contests and regions. You may not always have a comprehensive italian person as interlocutor. Thanks for sharing your amazing puzzles and solutions.
Happy New Year! You forgot to tell the difficult rating of this one. And if it broke the magnet is so strong indeed. Hopefuly the design will be revised
I have a complaint this puzzle gave me nightmares. So before I went to bed I watched this video right well I ended up chocking and coughing in the middle of the night and woke up and said I’m chocking on circles. I would personally like a refund for my traumatic experience 😂
I just posted this same comment on another video but this one is a lot more recent so I'm gunna say it again.. I don't understand how Mr.Puzzle doesn't have more followers! What is going on here?! Is this another April Fool's joke or something? (At this moment in time has 705k subscribers)
Hard bumping necessary to solve a wooden puzzle...and surprisingly it gets broken. Greeeeeat idea by the designer. I don't like that one. Looks like an interesting maze puzzle (and partly it is), but it would be way cooler, when the ''magnetic piece/tool'" is necessary, maybe on a certain stage of the solving, to move the hidden slider in a certain position to unblock the way so it is possible to get finally through the maze.
I got mine on Christmas Eve and had exactly the same problem. Two of the green coloured pieces fell off and I had to glue them back on. The release mechanism is also really sticky and I might see about a return. It’s a shame as it’s a nice looking and feeling puzzle with an interesting solution but let down in its manufacture ☹️
Hi Peter, I'm really sorry for your experience, I personally checked all Gearlys several times before shippipng. The mechanism seems sticky because you need to find the best way to unlock it which derive from some logical deductions, think out of the scheme and contact me for any problem or if you need some help with the solution. Hope you'll re-evaluate the Puzzle after finding the solution! Cristian
@@cristianpoliziani9210 Hi Cristian. The pieces had fallen off in general use with no force used. I had worked out the solution as Mr. Puzzle had but The sliding pin won’t release.
