      One tip I’ve got is to look at gear that you can resuse in different ways in the future. So for example, if you have your eye on a $160 plate carrier that’s out of your budget, consider getting some mag pouches you’ll eventually put on a plate carrier when you can afford it, and in the meantime, just wear them on a belt. For airsoft beginners, it doesn’t even need to be a tactical belt. It can just be a plain old belt looped through some molle pouches.
      Then you can get a battle belt. I don’t recommend the old school style that condor sells. I recommend the more modern two belt systems with opposing Velcro. These will give you the most stability. Tacticon makes a great one for $30-40, but they run sales all the time, and they even have great dump pouches, as well as other products you may find useful.
      An item like this will serve you well not only when you don’t have a plate carrier, but even when you do get one.
      Once you’ve found a good budget carrier, or have saved up enough for that dream purchase, you can run the belt and the plate carrier together.
      Another example would be getting a good chest rig with removable pouches, as even if you own a plate carrier, on hot days you may still want to use a chest rig.

    Thanks so much for these tips! I am 21 now and in college and haven’t played airsoft in years. I played from ages 11-14, but player and staff toxicity at my only local field drove me out of the hobby. My fifteen year old brother now wants to get into airsoft, so I’m looking at getting back in. It’s easy for me, because I’ve kept all of my gear. I have followed all of these tips in some form or another and can attest they work, but I did get burned once buying a used gun and I swore never to do it again. I was always very trusting and a guy I knew who I considered a friend, but looking back was never very faithful to me, offered to sell me a gun he didn’t want anymore for around $40 less than it cost brand new. I used it in a game before buying it and it broke down, so he fixed it and the next week I STILL BOUGHT IT. I don’t know what I was thinking, because the night I bought it, the selector switch fell off the side during a night game and I never found it. It was a $15 part to replace, and he was already selling me a gun without a flash hider and that he had painted(when I’d have preferred it one solid color). All that to say, it has sat in my garage all these years and never been used again because I never got around to buying the new parts, and I have always regretted buying that gun when I could’ve bought something new.

    I know a lot of people like the full gear with the plate carriers but it partially defeats the purpose for me. I like just wearing a t shirt and a leg harness because I actually enjoy the aspect of the BB’s hurting. It makes the game more exciting and more adrenaline filled in my opinion. A huge thing is to pick a camo style you like and stick with it. Buying new stuff later for a more uniform look because you decided you like multicam and all of a sudden your black mag pouches and accessories don't cut it anymore.
    100% agree on those last two, your story is a lot like mine. I used to never spend much on gear or run cheap stuff because I didn't play often. Now that I am in a position to play more I upgraded everything........then upgraded again.......I cannot stress enough springing $100+ on a good plate carrier is so worth it. Your loadout is more modular which lets you try new things. I run a G36, but just got an ARP9. Switching a single placard takes two second between games to switch from one platform to another. Absolutely amazing.

    Another saving tip is know your platform.. if you like AKs dont buy a cheap M4 as your first gun as then you have to buy all different magazines when you finally get your AK same goes with pistols ECT

      im about to buy myself a Hi-capa 5.1.... made sure to check if it had aftermarket stuff and the upgrades seems to be endless....so the money well spend, if something breaks its 100% fixable... also pretty much all hi-capa 5.1 mags are compatible... HPA upgrades possible.... and since i want to play speedQB the performance is pretty good

    • @dalejones6248
      @dalejones6248 Рік тому +1

      I have to disagree; EVERYONE should start with a cheap M4 as their first gun imo. They might not be everyone's cup of tea, but they have the widest amount of aftermarket availability as far as mags, parts, and so on. Buying an AK to then have less availability on the back end for parts and such, being a little different to work on vs V2 gearboxes which most SMGs, ARs etc all share, different hop units, it all adds up for newbies first getting in.

    • @Ferret_Pirate
      @Ferret_Pirate Рік тому +2

      @@dalejones6248 read my comment again… what I’m saying is don’t buy a gun just because its cheap when your final goal is another gun because you then have to start from the beginning again but if you stay with the same platform then all the accessories transfer over..

    • @dalejones6248
      @dalejones6248 Рік тому +1

      @@Ferret_Pirate read my comment again. The simple answer is that's absurd. NOBODY is going to stick with their first RIF forever other than through legacy purposes, NOBODY ever does in airsoft, you and I both know what you probably bought as your first RIF you may well still own, but you don't just own that type of platform because it's in the nature of airsoft (especially starting out) for people to work out what they like, what they don't, what works well with their playstyle, etc. A cheap banger M4 for £150 you can run for 6 months and kill while you just play the game and learn where you end up most on the field, how you play, are you an aggressor or do you sit back and plink, do you try to be more supportive, are you an objective chaser, etc is a MUCH better alternative. The 2 things starters should look for, in truth, are 1) that the brand is reputable and 2) it has a MOSFET, so the electronics don't shit themselves and die. That's what I tell everyone first starting asking what gun to buy - go buy a Cyma M4. M4 mags are peanuts, everyone uses them, parts are readily available, upgrades are bountiful, they're easy to sell, it's just a no brainer for a beginner. Buying something out there like a G36C or MP5 as your first RIF would be absurd for those same reasons. Buying an AK to decide you don't like it and end up with AK bits about yourself while everyone you play with runs M4s etc and you decide you want an M4 is no different - your point not only doesn't make sense, but is counterintuitive, you're basically telling people spend big bucks starting out. While working out if they even like the hobby, if they like that platform, if it suits their playstyle etc, a cheap gun you won't cry about when you kill it (as all FNGs inevitably do) is PARAMOUNT.

    • @Ferret_Pirate
      @Ferret_Pirate Рік тому

      @@dalejones6248 mate we are talking about people on budgets who don’t have alot of money and play airsoft… i was just continuing on the point in the video “try peoples guns and see what you like” so I continued that point by saying if you liked a AK don’t go buy a cheap m4 because then you need to rebuy accessorise and things…
      I agree most people swap guns eventually after finding the play-style they like and i do agree buy a cheap M4 first aswell especially because theres so many options even if you stick on that platform you can go dmr or cqb or something completely different like a arp 556 and all the accessories transfer gun to gun but if your on a budget you cant do that as your money’s limited and you cant afford to do that..

    As a hardcore paintball speedballer I tried airsoft once and rented one of these cheap rentals with no plate carrier just a mag and my paintball dye mask and I did not have that much fun. I think what deters people from playing is the gear difference. This goes for many things but if I had to go from my $2000 luxe setup to a tipman rental in paintball I probably would not have as much fun and I think the same goes with airsoft. You need to invest to have fun it's just a risk you need to take to enjoy the sport is what I feel like.

      Thank you! There is a lot of disscussion about that topic and the best answer I could find over different forums etc is that springs dont wear out if stationary (either fully compressed or not compressed at all), they wear out if they are being used. The US army research did some testing for that over 5 years and the preloaded magazines didnt loose any spring pressure, only the ones that were used

    • @SethAbercromby
      @SethAbercromby 8 місяців тому +2

      In extremely simple terms, springs work by wanting to return to their 'resting' position, but as you point out this isn't a perfect process that slowly fatigues the material (any time a spring stretches it wants to be slightly longer and any time it compresses it wants to be slightly shorter). If you leave a spring at a certain compression for long enough, that will slowly shift the material towards making that its new 'resting' position. Effectively your spring will lose power because it will attempt to return towards that shorter compressed state rather than its fully extended one.

    For BDUs and other military clothes, here are my tips as someone who's been able to wear the same Army uniforms for years and years:
    1. As he said, do not wash them if they don't need to be washed. Febreeze is a great thing.
    2. Turn them inside out before you wash. Yes, it works.
    3. Wash on COLD PERM PRESS cycle. You can tumble dry, but again, PERM PRESS cycle.
    You may also want to wash with your patches left on, especially name tapes and other things that take up the entire velcro area. This helps keep the velcro strong over time - but the tradeoff is that your patches will slowly fade too. So this one is a personal choice IMO.

    Here is a tip ive learned after a few years dont buy molle plate carriers, harnesses, or vests. Start with a fixed system. After you play with them you might want to keep it or buy molle and build based on what youve learned ive spent around $300-$400 on chest gear just to realize that micro chest harnesses have what im looking and airsoft ones are $50-$100. Start cheap and borrow from those who are willing, take your time to learn what works for you and build yourself from there. Also don't buy all black thinking you'll look cool. Buy either camos or soild colors based on your play area, black just stands out and paints you as a target i live in nevada so i buy tan/desert colors and camos.

    want a tip for BB companies to save something aswell? :)
    DON'T throw away low quality bbs
    why?
    because APS shotgun replicas exist :) and they literally function how a shotgun is suposed to be...you don't need any quality of BB here...
    + grenades
    + mines
    + other weird applications..
    i would buy all these rezidual bbs...if only i could find them...

    tip 1: dont buy from novritsch
    tip 2: dont cheap out on eye protection, x800 and wileyX are my personal recommendation in combination with a exfog unit
    tip 3: kam-39 crossdraw vest, g&g cm16, 4 midcaps, a nimh battery is one of the cheaper but reliable ways to start
    tip 4: there is a subreddit where you can ask more specific questions
    tip 5: never trust youtubers completely as they are paid by brands

    Shopping tip:
    I might receive some backlash for this but I don't really care cause if you don't agree with me, then ignore this comment. There's no need to get mad.
    Amazon sucks. It just does. (For airsoft). The variety of products they have is terribly low. And everything they sell is cheap junk from China. Everything is low quality, they don't sell any good brands. Lots of people I know order off of Amazon and wonder why I don't. They say they do because it's cheaper and the shipping is quicker. This may be true, but is it worth it for the quality of the gear? I have never bought any airsoft products from Amazon and have spent over $600 dollars on gear. I suggest real airsoft distributors like Evike. Some people don't like it, but I think it's great. They have lots of choices and things are higher quality for the price you pay. This might be more of an opinion since I really don't mind paying tons of money, I just have to work harder to earn it, and I don't mind how long it takes cause I can wait. You might not like how shipping isn't free, but guess what? It's free if you spend over $149.That may be dumb to you, but, come on, it's Evike. If you ever buy something from them, it's gonna be over $149. SO stop buying shit from China, and get the good stuff.

    So so , aber wenn man eine Email schreibt wie die feder entspannt wird von der ssr4 (deutsche Version) dann bekommt man die Antwort....auf Dauerfeuer stellen und einmal abdrücken.... Bloß das das nicht geht und eine weitere Info bekommt man nicht. Oder man schickt eine Pistole wieder zurück weil das hop up nicht einstellbar ist und man wartet auf Antwort oder ersatz nur kam bis jetzt nach knapp einem Jahr nichts zurück, weder die pistole noch eine Email. Down here in the underpants of the world aka South Africa, Novritsch gear and guns are the most expensive. I understand Novritsch went with the idea of buying a pre upgraded shooter to save having to upgrade others and pay for techs to do em. But in ZA its still cheaper to buy a GnG ARP, drop 3K on it, and youll still have a lot more change left after, rather than buying a Novritsch gun or Plate Carrier. How to save money, dont buy Novritsch lol.

    Here’s my tip to save money. Step one: don’t get into airsoft lol. Get some real guns haha. No but airsoft is fun and the gear doesn’t make you good, start out with a cheap sprint pistol, then invest in a good AEG because aeg is so easy to get into. Once you’re comfortable with the AEG think about possible upgrades.
