ZS190 190cc engine swap for Little Ducati in vlog 043

  • In today's vlog 043, I show my ZS190 swap into my grom clone Boom BD125-8 Lil Duc. All the way from the unboxing, to the 125cc removal, to the ZS190 install, to the first start!

    The shift star mod and check the d comp on the engine is also good might want to look in too this

    You need just the coil and oil cooler on the l90 kit and if you want to see the gear indicator you need to take the wire off the 125 the 190 only shows when your not in gear if you care to see them.👍👌✌️

      yep in my later vlogs i got the oil cooler setup. i was considering swapping over the 125 gear indicator harness, but it would only show 1 thru 4, plus i still need to get an impact screwdriver to get it out. it's on the to-do list.

    Sick, bro! It's looking sharp! I see that the forum was helpful for info, and that the swap shop looked out with some parts, but where did you order the actual engine from? Is there a US retailer/distributor? Thanks for the video and I would be super pumped if you had any insight on what motor kit you got from where and what you're experience was like!

    Cut the black and put green in place and you good tape black wire off.👍👌✌️💯

    The original motor can be upgraded to a 141cc with a bore kit makes a good back up. we're did the muffler come from? the coil with the 190 need to be used. How is the bike working out?👍👌✌️💯

      Been running really good. I have not changed much except facing the carb towards the back, front mounting the oil cooler and running a quieter muffler. Everything else stayed the same. No issues so far. Very pleased with the results, however it makes me want a regular size bike like a CBR250 or an R3 now.

      @@jonathancunanan r3 would be sweet it has the most power in that class. I would recommend the 600cc class just because I have seen the 190cc race the cbr and beat it 🤔 so you might be disappointed. They say it's just as fast the 300cc have just a little more top end Wich is strange you would think its way fast but it's really not.👍👌✌️💯

      I figured the bikes weight with the 190cc would feel similar to a cbr250 which made me look to bigger bikes like the R3 or even the duke 390 but the ones I see are about 4K, where cbr250’s are sold for much less.

      @@jonathancunanan you ever think about the ninja clone you can build it using all Honda or most grom parts the body is the only part ninja style they made it to except all Honda parts it also works with Daytona 190/212 but it's a full size bike for the same price as the grom clones just a cheap idea for a full size bike

    How’s the ride have you gotten to take it out yet it’s a huge difference from the 125 to the 190

      i haven't yet unfortunately. my kit didnt come with a air filter so i am waiting on that to be delivered. i still have not figured out a way to install the oil cooler. i ordered a clocking flange to face the carb backward to make room up front for the oil cooler, but that won't be done until maybe next week or so. i will do a test ride with the air filter as is and see how it compares, hopefully this weekend. i will report back and let you know.

      Update : took it out yesterday and it does feel a lot different. Not sure if it’s all in my mind but it was a lot of torque.

      @@jonathancunanan yea they make a lot of torque not so much in the high Rpms but they definitely pull all the way up to 10k

      i bought it off a friend when it had 5 miles haha, he actually bought it new from Kronik Racing in Simi Valley, CA and stored at my house but eventually got a ktm 390 before he even rode it again.

      @@Resist_7 I think you are able to if you remove the seat cowl plastic and if you are both small riders but I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s a small bike as it is.

    A nibbi clutch cable off amazon fits the 190cc

      i was able to reuse the stock clutch cable.

      @@jonathancunanan just make sure it's not going to burn the clutch up and is in gauging right.👌✌️
