The lyrics still feel very american to me, simply because of the way the phrases are built, but it's an incredible job. Made me think of 19-20th century romance songs.
Hellagur's story is somewhat tied it with Patriot's as they were once officers of the Arknights version of Russia, Ursus. Both tired of the bs Ursus was doing, they quit, Patriot becoming a rebel while Hellagur inherits a clinic to save the very people his country tries to slaughter off the face of the world. They are both tired of war, but fate shackles them towards warfare as Hellagur's clinic was hit by the Reunion attack, forcing him to join Rhodes Island. While Requim was about the tragedy of Patriot and Frostnova, this song talks about how Hellagur is just tired. He isn't like the unstoppable Wendigo Patriot is, or the new blood Frostnova, he's just the guy that resents the way Ursus is but can't do anything besides inherit a clinic to try and soften the blow the infected are to deal with. The two even shares this idea in a side story where Patriot meets his former ally after the victory over Chernobog. Patriot does not celebrate, in fact, he has a hard time believing they won over the overpowering Ursus, while Hellagur just wants a normal life away from the violence, noting the happiness in the city that Reunion had destroyed.
You forgot one thing, there was this event in Ursus, called "Bloodpeak Campaign" where Ursus began to purge it's military of it's veteran general to began "anew". Had Hellagur not retire in that time, he'll be as good as dead, used as political target.😢😢

I instantly remembered all these sad pieces I used to hear in school during history lessons or in movies about war. They are all about how war is a terrible thing and how people are tired of it, but they have to accept their fate because everything's already happened and there are no way back. So I can't really listen to this song a lot. Brings tears to my eyes due to reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with the game, you know. Too much unwanted associations. But maybe this was a point. People from other countries can appreciate the language and style this way. Now there are three Russian songs in Arknights (this, Requiem and Lullaby), and I personally feel that they are extremely good at capturing and portaying... I don't know how to say it, "Russian soul"? "Russian feel"? "Russian reality"? Can't say that all Russian music is about neverending suffering in the cruel cold world, but most of classic pieces that live long and stay in people's heart for decades probably are.

@@HerrscherofSimp3164 Hey back. Arknights is a really great gacha game that I wholly recommend and is very worth it. I've played a couple gacha games for years, and Arknights is the one I stayed with. The story and lore is deep, and the combat mechanic is interesting. It is also very, very forgiving for F2P players and the devs are also very generous with the in-game currency. The first three chapters doesn't have the best writing due to translations, but the pace picks up a lot after that. It also has dark themes, but don't let that deter you! As for the gacha aspect, I will say Arknights has one of the best gacha system ever and have rather good drop rates. The best thing is that (like FGO), even your lowest rarity Operators are viable for any battles. So Arknights isn't just a "only the SSR/six-stars" can help you win.

_Proshanye..._ - what a beautiful piece. It has that wartime or after-war feel to it. Lyrics say a lot but what I meant to say is that there are a lot of Russian songs about the war - its losses, the pain it causes, the suffering, the loneliness, the shallowness, the despair and so on. I’ve been on a spree of commenting on your Arknights videos over the last few days and honestly I thought I had said something here already. My friend told me to listen to this song like right after it was released and I forgot to, then finally remembered to listen to it 6 months later and god DAMN. It pains me to no end that not everyone is able to appreciate how lovely this piece is. The song does such a goddamn perfect job of conveying this feeling of hopeless reflection in the style of old Russian music, the same way songs about past Russian/Soviet wars and other horrors do, and on top of that was released just in time for Russia to invade Ukraine. There are so many negative connotations for people with any connection to those countries or their histories, and reading some of the comments of such people on this video just hurts my soul. It’s so indescribably gorgeous and laden with emotion…but on the other hand, it’s so laden with emotion. This song really does what it tries to do far too well thanks to current events. Man thinking about this and the resulting feeling of internal conflict is just making me angry now.
oh my goodness, the deep cello intro was enough to get my entire attention in 1 sec, and then the vocals kick in. What a beautiful, melancholic piece, I love it!
OH LORD I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!! After seeing your emotional reaction to Lullaby, I kept thinking to myself that Proshanye would be PERFECT to hear you react to and god you did not disappoint. It's always always always been one of my all time favourite operator themes. Within all the glory and hype and even sometimes solemn moments we get from Operator Themes, none have so starkly represented that the future we're fighting for at Rhodes Island is built upon the backs of so much tragedy and pain, that war is not something glorious or something to be coveted. And having Hellagur's theme be this mournful dirge, this gorgeous but unequivocally sad and terrible requiem of parting could not be a more perfect representation of this dark, unglorious truth.
Finaly some Helladaddy. He is a war veteran with 40+ years combat expierience as one of the highest fighters of ursus and his theme represents his mentally perfect.
Hellagur's theme sounds Tired, Calm, Determined yet Desperate, Prideful yet so Ashamed of what he has done in fighting for so, so long. Hellagur was also good friends with Patriot(The wendigo from Requiem) Both served The Ursus Empire, a once glorious country which has now become a very corrupt, unstable and weak country after the failed invasion on higashi, the bloodpeak campaign where they purged their own ranks and the most bloodiest uprising in Terran History known as the Great Rebellion along with the unexpected death of the Ursine Emperor.
Tired old badass retired general... Still a badass who wouldn't let go of his sword. Even though he's overwhelmed by many new release units, still my favorite character, his s3 attack SFX is just so good.

glad you like Hellagur's song. as you said, you can feel the regret and lament of a old soldier, who fought a gruelling kill enemies & at times his best friends. while he want to put down his blade forever, but to protect the new blood n budding life, fate has a cruel humor for him. i love seeing official art of him with younger character giving them sweets or protect them the rain. showing even after the horror of war, he still retain the strength to fight and care for the future generation.
A song about a man who has seen, went, experienced, lost, suffered long enough. We don't know if he's at his wit's end or not, and yet he fights for a cause that is just. That's what war does to a man
YES. YES. YES. YEEEES! When I started watching your videos on Arknights, I knew that it was gonna be good when you got to this one. This song just hits hard. Whoever sang this leaves me moved. Listened to this on a cold snowy night down by the lakeside, felt like I was _there_

"Fun" fact: this song release on Feb 22, 2022, Russia's Defender of the Fatherland Day, and the day Russia attack Ukraine. And I do believe this is an anti-war song.
By almost a tragic irony, the song was released on Feb 24, 2022, same day Russia matched into Ukraine (I seriously doubt Hypergryph knew Putin was going to pull the trigger on that day...)

glad you like Hellagur's song. as you said, you can feel the regret and lament of a old soldier, who fought a gruelling kill enemies & at times his best friends. while he want to put down his blade forever, but to protect the new blood n budding life, fate has a cruel humor for him.
i love seeing official art of him with younger character giving them sweets or protect them the rain. showing even after the horror of war, he still retain the strength to fight and care for the future generation.
A song about a man who has seen, went, experienced, lost, suffered long enough. We don't know if he's at his wit's end or not, and yet he fights for a cause that is just. That's what war does to a man
Theme of a really old general who passed through really lots of bad events and responsible for so many ended lives... Both enemies and allies...
This is such a great video, thank you so much for listening to Hellagur's theme. I enjoyed it a lot.
Man was absolutely hypnotized
YES. YES. YES. YEEEES! When I started watching your videos on Arknights, I knew that it was gonna be good when you got to this one. This song just hits hard. Whoever sang this leaves me moved. Listened to this on a cold snowy night down by the lakeside, felt like I was _there_
Это невероятно! Its incredible!
My God, this transliteration...
It took me about 5 minutes to realize that this is the word "goodbye"
Absolutely beautiful. You should give Shining's theme "Winter Absolution" a try too.
One of my favorite character.
This old general was a comrade-in-arms with Patriot when they're still in Ursus military.
I didn't understand a damn thing but still very cool.
I also just noticed that your background have nightmode. Very cool.
I wish that you would peek at Wiki to learn more about the characters that theme you listen to, perhaps you should do so when you will do Magic Theorem as the lyrics of the song mean so much when you know story of Dorothy's Vision.
Even before I knew the translation to the lyrics (though thank you for sharing them, loved them) its always been easy to see how much weight poor grandpa is carrying. That said, if anyone wants to see Hellagur being a little less, well, broken, to any new doctors out there who haven't played through the side stories we get to see him have some fun in Heart of Flame
Someday in the near future, I wish to hear you sing in one of their characters theme songs 🙏🙏🙏
i see that you do many arknight song and i wanted to share that one with you "Heal the world" if i'm correct it's writen by the one who compose the ost for Made in Abyss. i hope you enjoy that song. thank you again for all your video :)
I recommend arknights’ “winter absolution” for some more Latin-style vocalism!
I'm here! I was alerted to the sound of sadness!
You know it's gonna be a tearjerker when it's in Russian. Immaculate track.
I've been waiting for so long for this one
So glad you enjoyed this one.
Oh boy i sure hope to see some Path To Nowhere songs covered here !
Been waiting for this since Requiem 👍
Arknights finally back :D
oh i was waiting for this one
Limbus Company; Mili - Between Two World’s
Something extra to touch on that I haven’t seen anyone address is that Hellagur is an insanely good fighter. He is capable of taking boss level enemies on 1v1
The lyrics are just something else.
🥹🥹🥹
I’d also love to see him react to Shining’s theme
The russian oldman theme his so hard
음악에 이렇게까지 잠기는 사람은 처음본다. 다같이 슬픔에 잠기는 사람.
:)
This is Hella Gold
The first few seconds alone.... wow
Ursus.... My Homeland....
Considering he has over **40 YEARS** of combat experience...
Lovely
Any chance we could get an Ambience Synesthesia reaction?
It's the name of Arknights concerts, there were 2 so far and the 3rd was recently announced.
Yea
Hey Hey heey , less gooooo
I don't mean to be arrogant and cocky but for a while i kept on nagging on the comment section for Marco to cover it and hehehe you are welcome
can i ask something did you ever think to collaboration with Arknight to make Classic music like this ? i sure with experience you have about music will make a masterpiece like this. in my opinion 😁
I mean it doesn't work that way but I'd love to
@@MarcoMeatball hahaha i know it but i really hope hypergraph notice your video about Arknight and starting to make classic musik using russian or germany language because they rarely use German-language songs even though Germany also has a lot of great classic music / folk song
Psssst, you should listen to some of the music from Gundam: Hathaway's Flash.
Will you sing this song too Marco ?
(like La Signora and Scara)
Maybe!
Finally!
How was this first play was a very sad tone and a fragile old man sing along its refleck on the character design and how was he is old and how was he desperated on this his memory that he describe to us and shown to us how he was been made off this whole time
Hellagur theme is hellagud
Nice
Interesting. In some places there is no accent, but in some places it is downright creepy. I wonder who sang? Although, the game is Chinese, so it is quite possible that the Chinese...
The feeling when the word "war" (voina/voyna) in the pronunciation of foreigners becomes "voiNYA" :D
"Fun" fact: this song release on Feb 22, 2022, Russia's Defender of the Fatherland Day, and the day Russia attack Ukraine. And I do believe this is an anti-war song.
I hope you could review Counter:Side ost too, altho well probably only 2-3 ost that are good
I don't know the meaning of the lyrics, but I can feel this song is about missing someone who passed away ☕
Try Lumen's theme
Marco I will beg of you to do Reed The Flame Shadow’s ost from arknights
By almost a tragic irony, the song was released on Feb 24, 2022, same day Russia matched into Ukraine (I seriously doubt Hypergryph knew Putin was going to pull the trigger on that day...)
Can you listen to winter absolution by arknights?
All hail Hella-daddy
Can you reacts to Arknights Roaring Flare BGM? Its very good
