Thank you fot this video, this is sooo helpful ❤️ I wanna tell you some of my experience. When I first performed in college, I hadn't any anxiety before the performance, but as soon as I sat down at the piano I was so scared, honestly, I've never played so badly. So i understood that i should do smth with it. I watched a lot of videos, and tried to do as they said. And i played very great! So, here's what affected it: 1) i had much more support from teachers, classmates, family etc 2) i tried to ignore bad thoughts, i tried to think only about good things 3) during the performance, I didn't think about the audience, but about the music I was playing, and when I made some mistakes, I didn't focus on it, I just continued playing 4) I made my mind to think not selfishly, I mean the music which I play is much important than me, I'm just a person sharing this wonderful piece I think it's all, hope it will help someone. And I really hope that it will work for the next performances too😅
In my experience, I have yet to meet a professional musician that doesn’t get *some* kind of nerves or anxiety before performing. I always say it’s not about getting rid of the nerves, it’s about cultivating a relationship with the nerves.
What were your worse experiences with performance anxiety and has anything ever helped you overcome it?
