In terms of utility though, Walter is mostly so newbies can catch up IMO, no one who is up to date in the main story actually needs Walter, if you beat Manfred chapter, Damazti chapter and Sanguinarch chapter I think you have the ability to live without Walter and wait for her next rerun.
Summary: Walter is a tool, Ash is a trophy.
i started playing like two weeks after her original banner ended and i spent 2.5 years being bitter about it. i'm not skipping her 😂 fomo/collector brain won't let me
During that time I barely had any resource even gacha and I was bitter because I didnt get her in like 70 pulls but my friend who plays the game once a lifetime and doesnt read the story got her in like 20 pulls. Gonna pull for her since this time I was prepared. I got Ela early and still got 150 pulls left.

kinda wished ash's s3 could detonate on heavy enemies, that way her s3 could potentially have some use vs the heavy elites and tanker bosses. (ie. explodes for the 800% damage if it hits an enemy weight 5+)
but as it stands, she is like a v0.9.b of exusiai, but hindered by the lack of impact of aspd buffs to be useful in buff/debuff squads. ash still a decent cheap unit to deploy to deal with drones or quick early enemies.. if they are a problem down the line
you can deal with drones with literally anything that hits air.
Nice timing omfg.I would love to see a module that makes ash viable compared to other high tier units .Maybe it would be too broken if a module removed the stun needed for the extra damage? Edit: What im walking about there is alot of more powerful ops than ash could possibly be if no stun needed .
I never seen a module can change what a skill does tho its always change talent.
Rhe closest thing i see is shining module which change how her talent work if u use s2 or s3
Ash's 2nd module increases her stunning duration.
Thus she can get more dmg on S2.

Her module which increase her stun to like 6 second instead of 4 i think?, she would have enough time to kill things she wouldn't be able to and yeah thats a huge dps increase
With how it's not just Ash but the anti-air marksman archetype in general struggling thanks to the higher def enemy because they are high in hit count but low in damage, a 3rd mod that take advantage of the class rapid fire nature is the way to go, kinda like how Mystic Caster like Eben can apply Necrosis and it helps him a lot.
So for a 3rd mod, the trait can enhanced into "Prioritize Aerial unit and reduce the defense of the enemy this unit is attacking by 15 per hit, up to 20(30) stack" and for Ash specific talent, her stun grenade can have % def reduction on it.
This will help all the anti-air marksman with their damage as Ash can see a noticable gain in her S2 without relying on Stun anymore while also future proofing the archetype, giving them some team-comp benefit. The super tanky enemies will still have to be taken down with Besieger though so it shouldn't be that broken.
Why you should not skip Ash: she is a character from a rerun that hardly will have a comeback and even if it has will be a long term from now and she is a cool waifu :D

As R6 player I'm going to pull her, I play this game because I saw my friends play it and tower defense games are my style. While I was trying to find a sniper support unit,I found her and realise that Arkngihts has a collab with r6, so I pull everyone in ela banner and next one is going to be Ash.
Ash might not be that good now but i must redeem myself and pull her this time

She's an AA sniper who can stun, nuke 2 times per deployment and take care of many elites, but not usually bosses. She doesn't suck, she's outdoing her role.
But nowadays you have other snipers that cost more than AA snipers, are easier to get and will be more critical in more situations than her.

The only thing you want to roll for her besides being a Collab unit, hot, and limited, is the fact she enables the 24hour base. She's a QOL unit for the base and that makes it so tempting.
And here i am still using Ash. 😂
the thing is you dont need strong meta operators to play this game, if you look at guides there are low rarity clear options and even nicheknights lineups, even this video uses sniperknights, going the collector route is more enjoyable than chasing meta all the time
The metric on whether an operator is good or not is if they can solo a boss or not .-.
She is a DPS unit so she should at least deal enough damage to shred them enough.
but this isn't a game where all the job is done by a single OP (unless it's one of the most broken available) it's a game where you have to use your entire squad.
like to say that mountain can be an unstoppable lineholder...but he can only hold a single line, if there's more, it doesn't matter how good he is, you'll need the rest of your squad to help.

If I wanted an anti-air sniper to be a boss-killer I'd just use buff-army Exusiai. She has value outside of one-cycling Patriot or whatever.

That's a bit of an overexxageration. Even at launch Ash was simply good. Not OP. Not broken. Definetly not RIDICULOUSLY OP either. Just a good operator.
People just overhyped the hell out of her because she was a limited operator. I mean in high end clears you almost never saw her in peoples clears even at her launch. CC clears with her are non existent. She simply was never necessary, just good enough.
While she's certainly gotten worse it's not like it's by an insane amount. Even without the powercreep she already had competition that made her not neccesary, just a nice alternative.
If she released at the actual LAUNCH of the game she would have definetly been OP. But by the time she released the standards had already risen too high for that to be the case.

I think it was more a case of she was the only one of her kind for a while but like I said in the video they didn’t really future proof her so over time she got overshadowed

Also, funnily, CN theorycrafters said that "If I can buff Ash/Schwarz to only deal with the crocs in the bot lane, why don't I just buff Chalter to deal with all lanes instead" So that's exactly what they did and for the highest risk clear, none of them involve Ash and they just rotate from buffing Ash to buff Chalter.

if you ask me, she's Exusiai-Era.. and does comparably, or even better than Exusiai's S3 (stun, controlled activation, bullet-system etc.).. more to anti-air operator, not anti-tanky enemies lolz
120 pulls isnt cheap and wisadel is right around the corner, i prefer increasing my chances for Wisadel who's a true powercreep than getting someone i know I'll never use

An Old times where the collab came I really want to get her but due to lack of pulls I wasn't able too after 100 pulls which is very sad. I think her modules got the same situation as W and Fartooth where it doesn't fix the issue of their talents and kit but only enhance it's effect rather it could be better that she gets a bit of RNG to stun enemy just like Kross Alter but I understand that you can give outside sources to stun enemies but still I hope it could have been better since she's limited.
Honestly, shredding elites on a relatively fast cycle is a decent niche still, while she's definitely not as flexible as other strong snipers nowadays, which might be an issue, that's pretty much it I think
Luckily I don't have to Skip it or anything like that, since I have it in Pot3 since the first collaboration.
Well she help me alot in IS stages and other crowd control stages for flying Enemies and its fast skill charges for S2 , afk for s1 and s3 is well idk depens on the enemy maybe because it has push perks well i hardly use her s3 but LIMITED is LIMITED!!
if you guys managed to get Ela then you absolutely do not need Ash unless you really want her as a collectible.
Even if her damage has fallen off and struggle in most cases, I kinda like her anyway because throwing a flash grenade will always be funny so I went and pulled for her.
And with HG pushing more hit-count based gimmick, I think having a pocket 30-hitcount on demand is still good. Sure Exusiai exist but you have full control on Ash with much faster cycle and Archetto works better with multiple targets than singular. With so many nuke button in the game now and Walter outright shooting things out of the air, I can see them wanting to rebrand Anti-air marksman which has been struggling in general to more than just aerial priority. The fast attack speed on the Anti-air marksman is the easiest to go with.

She is not strong comparing to modern operators, and i dont see a reason to pull for her.
She is limited? Yes, and what? This still does not make a reason to spend my orundum, the only reason i can admit is a waifu factor, but even in that case i'd prefer save pulls for next banners with interesting ops.

As a fomo this is real 😅. After i have like 70% of the ops in this game and having enough power to trivialize any stages i couldn't care less on OP character and what not.

Nope i will all in for R6 banner 1 and finally get all of R6 collab operator, i prefer skip all banner than skipping Ash! She use firearms, use grenade launcher, and she is cool operator. All thing consider and i prefer skipping Ascalon and W alter than skipping Ash ( just my preferences). Cool/Badass character is better than op or meta character, also it's rare Cool/Badass character release in Ak because cute character exist and thats not my thing.
If only they made her new module changes the stun into a debuff special to her.
And no one even talks about her S3.
There is also the great terror that looms in the aniversary, which is Walter/Logos banner
Eh, Wisadel will return later (unfortunately), Logos is in normal banner, while this is probably last chance to get Rainbow Six characters (considering situation at Ubisoft). But sure, pull for whoever you want.

Yeah, ops with stun is instant trash due to alot of boss now have stun immune. And every 6* is obligatory to able to kill patriot with one skill cycle. That is the current meta. And if you want to have fun then please ignore that

You know why they are still regarded as good even tho they doesn't kill bosses ? Bcs they do their job exelent or bring new stuff to the table. The other failed not bcs they can't kill boss, but bcs they bring nothing new while also arent any better than those before them, or the value they bring is so small that it doesn't even matter.
I recently just pulled ash after pulling ela (and before that shu) and it would be really funny if I somehow pulled wisadel aswell. I employ a strategy in my pulls called winning it significantly decreases the chance of losing

There are two people in the world: those who seek meta operators, and those who seek their favorite characters.... And there is me, who seeks the meta and my favorites.
Luckily I got Ela with the 20 free pulls, so all the funds I had allocated to her can now be used for Ash without issue.
Ngl she got powercreept but other than that she still can help with some content and is also quite fun to play with, but ig people either pull for true limited, character design or collection. Some skip if they wanna build pity on other banners and really want future units.
I wonder what it would be like if Hypergryph Buffed their past operators to be viable in today’s arknights? 🤔
Like not up to W-alter standards or brain dead teams but enough for past operators to be more fun or just general gameplay (stat buffs or maybe even a module for operators to changes their skills)

When someone says an operator sucks, 99% of times it's simply the player that he is not good enough. 😂 Ash is good if you know how to use her and her stun on demand. Ash is bad only if a player does not know how to play the game.

@@sebby5060 Not entering in that kind of argument. Let's just say that if you consider only meta and raw power, sure there are better ops than Ash. But you use Ash in sinergy with other Ops and exploit her stun on demand. In that, she shines and in higher difficulty scenarios it helps a lot. You just need to be able to develop strategyes.
Only pulled on her Banner to complete Team Rainbow, no to extremely low chance of rerun, and i am not risking it haha

To be fair, she's not bad at her job. She's about on par with Exusiai. I wouldn't say she sucks as much as she's just been outclassed in the four years since her release.
Im the ash havers since the first collab and she standing in the middle ground, a lil above average if im being biased but the main problem ash has isnt about how she relies on stun for me, majority of enemies ate vulnerable to cc still so shes work alr in normal content but her targeting is ridiculously bad because she sometimes doesnt aim on the right target you wanna kill. Anyhow i still like her as a collection 😊

I watched this and knew. I watched your upcoming op videos and I knew. I pulled anyway because I wanted Frost. 3 5-stars in the first 10 (including Frost). Amazing. Surely I'd cut and run right?
Anyway, I got Ash in 54 pulls (not bad!). Also some other new arrivals: Mr Nothing, Kirara, Frost, Blitz. And wouldn't you know, that's 360 yellow certs which means I can get Bagpipe from Kernel Locating and also Horn in a couple weeks. Still 200 pulls in the bank not counting OP, so the question becomes whether I pull Ascalon or not.
Im f2p, got Ela in 110 pull and guess what...I STILL HAVE 410 PULLS LEFT. Im getting Ash to complete my R6 squad. And if im lucky with her banner i might even pull for Ascalon while keeping 300 for Waltuh.
Awful take honestly. She might not be as good as she once was, but I definitely wouldn't tell people to skip her. Maybe if you were a brand new player with no resources and had to choose between rerolling for her, or a different banner to start sure. However anyone with any saved resources should definitely consider this banner, as it may never come back again. It took 3 years for the rerun, so it may never see another one. She still has crowd control niches, and can be used for quite a few other things too. 20 free pulls on the banner means AT MINIMUM I would suggest anyone go at least until they get 1 six star op from the banner. Getting 20 towards your pitty and walking away without getting the six star on what is probably a 1 chance banner would be quite dumb.
My opinion, pull until you get all 3 ops if you have the resources to do so while not putting the W/Logos banner out of reach. Skipping this one, regardless of FOMO would be a rough move to say the least.

she made sniperknights unfun to play on most maps and I would prefer if she didin't exist but I do want to keep playing it because thats the most fun way of playing the game for me so I'm going for max pot
