How things work as a child’s toy and how things work as a hobby-grade gadget are almost two different things. I don’t think I ever once thought about fps or accuracy as a kid, just that the thing “felt” good to play with.
I totally agree. Channels like this are good, but some people lose perspective. These are primarily kids toys, enabling cheap, accessible and SAFE fun whilst "shooting" their friends with darts. Looking at UA-cam comments, a very vocal group complain that Nerf blasters are neither powerful nor accurate enough, and are ill suited for use by the niche, but oh so important "hobbyists". Maybe they should take up Gelfire, Rival or airsoft instead? Meanwhile, kids just choose a cool looking dart blaster and go have fun. 😂
@@another3997 super safe, given that they won't hit the broad side of a barn. XD That said...I'm not buying a new ammo type so my kids can play, so Hasbro and I are...how do you say it...finished! Good riddance.
Opposite experience from myself and my friends playing with blasters as kids. If the blaster could fire a projectile, we DEFINITELY cared about accuracy and we preferred it fly FAST and actually do something to what we aimed at, if only to knock down a plastic figurine. A blaster that shot too slow or without consistent accuracy was GARBAGE.
Now as an adult with several children of my own and friends with kids who come to play, the same values hold true.
Priorities for kids:
1) shoots a projectile accurately and consistently
2) shoots projectile with sufficient speed/force to have an impact on the target aimed at
3) I can reload/reprime and fire it myself, don't need help
4) if all of the above are true, its looks don't matter too much, but I want it to look 'cool'
So it's inherited the magazine issue from Rival. Awesome.
Ha, yeah, it did. I'll take the trade off as someone who has watched literally hundreds of kids unable to correctly load a nerf mag first try.
Everything in life is a compromise of some sort. You trade one thing for another. If it's such a big issue for you, then I'm sure Hasbro won't stop you buying blasters from their competitors, who possibly don't have this earth shattering "issue". Of course, they too have their own "issues" to contend with. 😁
@@maritimefoam I suppose that's the perspective that's needed, here. This is a kid's toy, not an adult enthusiast's blaster.
Another great review of the new series! Thank you buddy! 😎
My pleasure!
Maritime
Great video as always. Thanks for the enthusiasm and fun you always bring to your reviews
I appreciate that!
Man they didn't even fix the issues with the elite darts
No, they came up with a new dart design, unique to Hasbo, that offers better performance than Elite darts, which are being phased out over time. Being the market leader, having a proprietary, patented dart size and design means they stop competitors copying it in their blasters. Remember "Accustrike" where NERF did all the R&D, but other companies produced cheap "Accufakes", whilst others came up with alternative dart and blaster designs, but all based around Nerf's standard 'Elite' dart dimensions.
@@another3997 if nerf wanted people to buy their darts, they shouldve just brought back accustrike darts, instead of the proprietary darts, which nobody likes, thats why ultra, mega xl, and hyper are already dead
@another3997 covered this pretty well.
I think this may be the one I pick up… you know… for the kids… 😂
i want to see the sniper modded with a long barrel and strong spring and half darts from dart zone
Something I haven’t heard a lot for newer blasters is the plastic quality of the new blasters. Maybe it’s just me but the colours make the blasters kind of look low quality or off brand so I’m wondering if the plastic lives up to something like a rampage or rapid strike for example, or if it feels like an elite 2.0 blaster like the echo where the plastic is a little thin
Looks like a fun Blaster 👍
Upgrade spring, pump kit, and like you said a bumper on the stock or something... As a starting place.
I love all your unboxing videos
Thank you!
I hope this'll be like a Retaliator for this series. Seems like you could take out the barrel lock and add your own metal barrel for improved FPS.
Does it have a sealed breach? Looks like the acc-ultra darts were much better, what do you think?
Not a kid, but I'm a sucker for any bolt action, so you know I'm grabbing it
Haha, this is what I am talking about! The bolt has it's fans! :)
Is the trigger wider than the Ward?
If only it fired good darts.
It’s 30 bucks aud should I get it or should i not
2:37 note: Sprinter comes with a 16 Dart magazine, not an 18.
Ah yes, noted! I’m sure there was even a giant 16 on the mag! Haha
I'm *so* tempted to use one of the magazines as a shotgun now....
Love the look of this, im into nerf but enjoy the aesthetics more than the performance. Pretty blaster and accurate gotta get one
Once you get one blaster… slippery slope haha
Yo también quiero vivir ese sueño señor pool, me encantan tus videos, saludos.
¡Muchas gracias por mirar! ¡Espero que lo hagas!
I do like this. Feels like I'm hunting dinosaurs 🦖
haha, I can see that!
Definitely a win for the kids. Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.
Thanks for watching as always! You need a super-supporter badge lol
@@maritimefoam well, when you are so likeable and we have such similar personalities, of course I'm going to support you. Plus, you've earned my enduring admiration by "giving" me blasters 😄
How difficult is it to align the magazine with a dart on the ground to pick it up, similar to how rival works
Ha, I mean, a lot more difficult since it needs to go in the mag a certain way, and align with the mag. Way easier with a ball, even though the theory is the same!
@@maritimefoam just asking, because especially on indoor fields I was always tempted to do it with the old school magazines but the pinch would damage the darts. The question was more if the clips were recessed too far or not to grab them. I can always twist my wrist around for the alignment but saving that last 8 to 12 inches off of a deep squat while carrying around a bunch of gear makes a big difference by the end
If I was looking at this from performance standpoint, I'd say Nerf went down hill but I love that this line is adding good gimmicks and making them idiot proof for the younglings. I'll stick to Dart Zone if I want my modability and performance worth
One huge difference between NERF and Dartzone is availability. Try getting hold of a Dartzone product outside of the USA (and parts of Canada?). In the UK, and I believe in most of mainland Europe, you can walk into many stores and just buy Nerf or Zuru X-Shot products off the shelf, or order them online and have them delivered. Not so with Dartzone, they're as rare as hen's teeth. I daresay it's similar in many other countries too. 🙄
I'm not sure how this is downhill performance wise? The new standard FPS is 90 instead of 70 FPS?
@@maritimefoamJust been spoiled by the other brands I suppose, nothing wrong with the Elite standard and Nerf doesn't dip below but seems like all the "pro" and competitive brands punch way harder. Different markets though and I'm learning to see it that way.
2:47 would this count as a tag in a war
Haha, I will say yes!
When it will release in india pls tell
Not sure! Ask @nerf on Instagram maybe!
That mag design made sense in the nerf ultra speed cause it's full-auto. It makes zero sense in a springer. This blaster could've been great if it was pump action, had slamfire, and shot regular darts. Instead, it's a typical bolt action blaster, which are all not suitable to use in a real game.
nah for hvz this would be a great high capacity blaster because its a pump action
I would prefer pump over this type of bolt, sure, but, fact is, for play, lots of kids love this type of prime, makes it feel like a "sniper". Also, the mag design allows for not having to prime it to insert a mag, it's more kid friendly. I keep saying it despite no one listening ha, but this is the new 8+ line to be released globally.
@metalsuccattack you say, "nah," but then you defend your "nah" by saying it's good for hvz because it's pump action, which is in agreement with my comment. You seem not to understand what I said, but still, you got a heart from maritime. That's like getting praised for getting a question on a test wrong. You are too nice Mr. Foam.
@maritimefoam being a sniper is inherently contradictory to the concept of nerf, which is a form of tag. If a kid doesn't want to play the game, they shouldn't be allowed to change it so they can play it in a way that it's not supposed to be played.
@maritimefoam the n series line is very kid friendly, so much so that they should've put "for ages 8-9" on the boxes, not 8+.
The way the nerfing community dumps on this blaster in particular is interesting to see when this is probably the most antithetical primary for the hobbyists, this is a childrens toy 100% unless you connect a pump to the bolt
Agree. And a fun one. It is 100% appealing to its target.
I Will also have collection of guns like yours
