For a tree in early development it is already amazing, trying to comprehend what it will look like in the future one can only think outstanding and look forward to the final product! Job well done Josh!!
All professionals seem to have the same view on procumbens or green mound junipers. People have a low opinion of them but they are great. An ideal candidate for people of all levels.
It looks like what we call a star juniper in Colombia. And these are fantastic bonsai material. (as you know) I have one styled as a windblown and another that is just informal upright for now.
You are one of my favorite caretaker enthusiast that specializes Pacifically with Juniper bonsai Ive tried roots rock with Juniper but it’s was with a smaller Mama nursery stock with no Success 🤔and I’ve done root to rock with other trees like ,Fukien tea tree , Schilling holly , tiger stripe ficus which all Came out successful & what I’ve learned ,-or em still trying to learn?(always) is that the difference that I did with all these tree, is that they were slowly acclimated to sit on the rock, like I made a pot made with very small crosshatch leases-chicken wire & cheese cloth Wrapped it around the rock media /structure, with regular dirt soil and a bit of perlite & then Let it sit for the whole summer , but I didn’t do that with this Juniper Procumbens Nana specific specimen In which I was some how led to believe I didn’t need to? which was completely wrong And I should’ve never took that advice And should’ve chose my own voice of reason ,which I know for a fact that I would of never killed that little tree..😩 RIP mama juniper 😢🥺
this particular tree isn't actually root over rock, the tree was grown around the rock as young nursery stock. all the individual branches have been styled to look like separate trees. the best species for root over rock are things like trident maple, chinese elms or any ficus.
Hi Hugo, The tree is only 4-5 years old, it was put around the rock when it was very young. The tree was wired around the rock while it was young as closely as possible and then allowed to thicken to fill the gaps.
I also have herman on the other hand, The reasoning behind them is i obviously love the show but anytime i see lily and herman i think of how easy it is to misunderstand someone just by looking at them, you should always get to know someone before passing judgment and find the good quality's in people. Lily and herman are there right in front of me every day to remind me of that simple fact.
That tree is something else... And you are very patient..
thank you very much!
Love Josh's videos! As a newbie who is always looking for more information I always learn something new from him. Love from Canada.
Beautiful work .

WOW looks great
I have a nice idea for a pot
Junipers for some reason always are the most challenging to keep alive in my opinion. Totally not a beginner tree lol
You literally leave them alone and they will live.....
@@ogsxl Lol I literally have the worst luck with Junipers. I can grow ficus for days, but junipers always die on me.
Juniperus procumbens "nana" 👍
Absolutely beautiful! How old is the tree? How did you bend it to stick to the rock so nicely? Nails or wiring?

@@BonsaiEn Amazing work! Well done!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✅
How many years did it take to get to that point?
How long has this tree been in this pot ?
Josh... is this an artificial rock? Tell us a bit about the rock itself? Did you choose it... or have it made? Thanks
Hi Barbra, as stated in the video the rock is made from cement in a mould. Friends of mine make these rocks. :)
Would love a link to whomever made the rock. You didn’t say who in the video.
I couldn’t focus once I started wondering about your surprise devotion to Lily Munster. What’s up with that? There’s gotta be some story behind it.

@@BonsaiEn Now that is the kind of explanation I was hoping for!
Just touched the tree a lot and said a whole bunch of nothing.
