Thank you !!! Hahaha just gotta yeet ! Haha gyro spam next I’m painting them up as we speak . And then after that probably try and make slayers work I think , then miners 👌
@@Dawiafterdark On the Slayers front do you think there's any way of including Giant Slayers or is the way Motley Crew's interpreted going to make it a non-starter? I have struggled to find out how the competitive scene deals with Motley Crew (asked a few folk online, but tend not to get an answer), but there must be something to work from as people are fielding Black Orcs regularly.
Motley crew is an absolutely broken rule , you attack with the models with the best welpons and kill the cheaper ones , or in the black orc case tank with them
@@Dawiafterdark So the Black Orc unit you faced in the final round at least looks relatively straightforward: Shooting at it I guess you can't hit the champion, the first casualty is a shield orc as there's one more of them, next is up to the O&G player (probably also a shield orc), next is whatever he didn't choose (so probably GW) etc. And they always get to use the shield for their save as long as there are more shield orcs or the same number. Is that right or does he have to take off shield/gw/shield/gw regardless? And if so how does it work if the difference in numbers of the different types is bigger (like the way Tom was running them with his Chorfs) - does he get to take off just shield orcs until the numbers left are even or does he have to alternate regardless? In combat he presumably has one more shield orc in the front rank than gw (or maybe the same number?) and then he gets the better armour save for everything at least to start with? How do you take the casualties off though? Presumably you can still wipe the front rank regardless - and maybe change what is the majority part way through and give the rest a worse save if you kill some first with say a character and leave gw orcs as the majority for your unit to attack? Slayers have another dimension - we don't have different armour saves within the unit but we can potentially have different profiles if we field Giant Slayers mixed in - there isn't even an entry for that in the rule, but I guess we would have to work it the same way?
Motley crue is a weird one if you play against a fair player then they will keep track and actually take the models with the shields away but if they are a not great person they might not , so make sure you keep track yourself when you play them , yeah slayers is a lot easier to keep track of! But still need to keep track of the great weapons !
Hi Richy! Great work as always with your content and keeping the dwarf army win rate higher than we noobs can! 😂 I would love to try a list similar to yours in my next game, I have a question for you. Does the Master Rune of Adamant makes the Anvil immune to S3 Poison arrows? (I’ll face 60 poison khemri bows) Thanks anyway 💪🏻
Thank you ! We dawi can do it !!! So it makes you immune to every up to str 5 apart from poison , I feel it’s not intended , but at the moment , it works so you need to hide your anvil , remember it’s not a large target so units in front of it block line of sight to it :)
What I've been wondering is how do you handle someone putting a unit of scouts 12" in front of your ironbreakers? They block your double march plan without you having to wheel, and if you charge they can just flee and now you're only moving a few inches at a time
So absolutely annihilate them with the drakes and anvil shooting and then just yeet on turn two , you don’t have to full send turn one , if I don’t get the reroll raves spell off turn one il save tweeting for turn two aswell :)
@@Justin_Sane3000 so that’s just if the cart isn’t around , if the carts around the get the full 27 inch move turn one , but I’ve found people target the cart if they can haha , don’t know what beer did to them !

@@Dawiafterdark yeah, couldn't find a link, but he did explain them in the video. So i went and watched that quickly first, before finishing the video here. Thankyou for your report mate, always good to see the dwarves going to war
That Greenskin list was still illegal I believe, since he didn't have a Black Orc boss for each of his Black Orc units (breaking Da Boyz rule). Also, did you consistently get value out of the Master Rune of Calm? Would you keep it or remove it in the next iteration of the list?
Yeah don’t worry I forgot to mention that bit basically he submitted a completely illegal list by accident and adjusted everything I just forgot to mention the black orc boss cheers for pointing it out I completely forgot haha . Honestly drop it probably I think some more bodies in the unit is more valuable or maybe hesitation on them , I don’t normally like hesitation as it makes people not want to charge you but I’ve started playing ultra aggressively so may be worth it
So I’ve won three GTs , got second twice , got a third . Won a doubles with the dwarfs , and won best overall three times at different GTs aswell :) all with the dwarfs :)
When your units are drilled you can redress your ranks by 5 before you move so I made the drakes shrink down and the Longbeards changed into matching collum to match forward :)
@@Dawiafterdark The thing I'm unsure of with that is how did the drakes then get back to being wide again? Don't they have do do all their movement prior to the Longbeards doing theirs? Or can you do all the units' drilled redresses first and then move in whatever order after that?
I wonder how dwarves in particular break the rule of never allowed to move more than twice their movement during any movement phase or even during a free movement (such as drilled). Theoretically a dwarf line can't be more than 14 wide (due to movement 3 characteristics), efter this it can no longer reform, redress it's ranks or do any of that stuff. It seems like most people seem to forget that there is a limitation for any movement you do in the game based on the individual movement of any particular model. A Dwarven shooting unit should probably stay at around 14-16 models tops for this reason. The theoretical width for most movement 4 units are 16 models. Depending on the formation they go from and to. In my opinion these limitation must be adhered to in order to reign in the most ridiculous line hammer shenanigans. You only get to ignore these movement restrictions if and when a unit make a required pivot, such as when fleeing or pursuing an enemy. But at any other time, NO model may move more than twice its movement or as much as a random movement roll or three times during a march in marching column.
Is this towards Andy’s 31 man gunline ? As my drakes at 18 only ever changed formations in either full reforms or squally keep them in the same formation they start in .
@@Dawiafterdark I think it is both, his was more extreme. You have to keep to the max twice movement restriction when reforming as well. Reforming is not you do as you wish... you may pivot and then freely redress the ranks to get the formation you want. But each individual model may never under the reform move more than twice it's movement. I think this is overlooked quite allot from what I have seen on youtube. In essence you must move each model individually and adhere to formation rules until you have the formation you want. During a reform you have to count the movement during the pivot and then the actual movement during the redressing the ranks to get intoe the shape you want. Going from skirmish to open order or reverse are the most easiest way to form long lines, but you are still restricted to movement. But close order can be quite harsh when you actually get down to the nitty gritty. In my opinion it also make the game a bit less line hammer and a bit more sane. I have no issue with the tactical use of going wide, that is a tactical choice between manouver and offensive strike power. Obviously we don't measure every model but make a judgement on how much they moved. But clearly in many cases models move way more than they should. It is also very likely to end up in a scenario where you can't reform as the unit now is too wide as moving the end model to the center line is impossible. Better to just not go that wide in the first place, or you have to wait for some of them to get killed... ;)
In my opinion this is the intention of the game designers to limit the line hammer but people have just not thought about this and just move the models as a group and don't really contemplate this, especially during reform and redressing ranks. Puting some restriction on this would be good. I hope GW eventuallt clear up the intention here in the FAQ at some point. They did state quite clearlt though in one of the FAQ and reiterated the twice move distance as well.
Sorry for bomnbarding you with this... but the time I have seen on youtube that people thinks pivots and reforms are free are staggering. For example a seven wide and three deep formation with a 25x25mm base unit that falls back in good order can reform as part of when they rally. If they just pivot the corner model have now moved just slighty more than 6" (movement are measure from start position to end position). So a dwarf at that point can't even pivot 180 degrees. Only the pivot when they fleet are completely free as well as when a unit pursue or when a unit counter charge. A Rally reform is not free movement, it is a normal reform manouver and adhere to all the rules as such. If you put your dwarf unit more than six wide it will not be able to pivot 180 degree on their reform, sad but true. We house rule this as if units that fall back may always pivot 180 degree no matter what, but may not redress the ranks if they are too wide to do anything else.
So the event allowed it , but going forward we agreed we’ve all agreed that and the falcon horn on grail knights can’t be taken , luckily didn’t win me any games haha

@@Dawiafterdarkthanks you so much for the fast reply ! I understood it well then 🤗 I played it correctly too but my opponent didn’t allow the part where I should have clipped his missdeployed orc boss on boar 🐗
No grudge written though as I killed him next turn with my Iron Drakes 🔥😋
@ yeah it’s completely legal to do :) you can only redress by 5 though :) and you can only move the mod la double their move :) so sometimes you can’t do it haha , yes !! Well done !!

Well done on the win - some impressive walking the walk (or indeed yeeting the yeet) going on from you at the moment!
I guess you'll be sticking with the deathstar or going with other 'non-traditional' builds (gyro-spam or whatever) until or unless we get some rules changes?
Thank you !!! Hahaha just gotta yeet ! Haha gyro spam next I’m painting them up as we speak . And then after that probably try and make slayers work I think , then miners 👌
@@Dawiafterdark On the Slayers front do you think there's any way of including Giant Slayers or is the way Motley Crew's interpreted going to make it a non-starter? I have struggled to find out how the competitive scene deals with Motley Crew (asked a few folk online, but tend not to get an answer), but there must be something to work from as people are fielding Black Orcs regularly.
Motley crew is an absolutely broken rule , you attack with the models with the best welpons and kill the cheaper ones , or in the black orc case tank with them
@@Dawiafterdark So the Black Orc unit you faced in the final round at least looks relatively straightforward:
Shooting at it I guess you can't hit the champion, the first casualty is a shield orc as there's one more of them, next is up to the O&G player (probably also a shield orc), next is whatever he didn't choose (so probably GW) etc.
@ thank mate! 💪🏻💪🏻
We the knife ear nation are very concerned with all these dwarves smashing people
That sounds like knife ear trickery to me , I will say this is because ed hasn’t been bullying people with his dark elf dragons for a month 😂😂
Hi there, big fan. You mention 3 inch vanguard and then triple 3 inch due to marching column... but dont you run a bugmans? Keep it up
@@Justin_Sane3000 so that’s just if the cart isn’t around , if the carts around the get the full 27 inch move turn one , but I’ve found people target the cart if they can haha , don’t know what beer did to them !
@@Justin_Sane3000 also thank you so much for watching !
is there anyway i can see the square based tournament rules, im interested in seeing what changes were actually in effect and get ideas for ways to change my own games.
So I think they might be on his video he posted ?
Honestly drop it probably I think some more bodies in the unit is more valuable or maybe hesitation on them , I don’t normally like hesitation as it makes people not want to charge you but I’ve started playing ultra aggressively so may be worth it
Awesome!

In that third game you move over/through your irondrakes with your big block of doom.
How did you manage to do that?
When your units are drilled you can redress your ranks by 5 before you move so I made the drakes shrink down and the Longbeards changed into matching collum to match forward :)
@@Dawiafterdark The thing I'm unsure of with that is how did the drakes then get back to being wide again? Don't they have do do all their movement prior to the Longbeards doing theirs? Or can you do all the units' drilled redresses first and then move in whatever order after that?
Maybe next turn he redressed again @@ClydeMillerWynant
@@Dawiafterdarkof course !
I already learned a lot of your tactics!
You might be the only one who gives insight into tactics that are really useful!
@@ClydeMillerWynant I think it may have either been the next turn or the anvil for move again :)
I'm trying to see where it says you treat champions as characters for runic upgrades? I love the idea of spending 50pts of core tax on a magic item.
So the event allowed it , but going forward we agreed we’ve all agreed that and the falcon horn on grail knights can’t be taken , luckily didn’t win me any games haha
