The flashlight is a single use, disposable one that gets activated by dipping it in water. You can’t redip and get a whole new charge, but it is true that you supposedly get “days of use” once it’s been dipped. These kinds of flashlights are good for shelf life and portability

Beware of those microwave bowl covers. The plastic around the magnets on the one in our microwave last night suddenly melted and the magnet began to arch on the microwave, I caught it just in time before it would have started a fire.
Metal can go in the microwave as long as there are no jagged, rough edges. You can put a whole stainless steel bowl in microwave without any problems, but a fork will cause it to arc.
@@NotKanisteezy So, a brand new metal bowl is ok, but once you've whisked a few eggs in it, look out? Interesting. I knew you could put metal in the microwave, but I thought it had to be wrapped to cover the surfaces, never heard of the rough edges being the problem. I've seen some crazy microwave videos, like nuking a grape and getting plasma from it.
I have a version of that cover. It stays attached to the top of my microwave every day. I use it all the time, my son, not so much. He just leaves it attached to the top and heats his food with no cover. 😅
Warning: don’t put any random magnet in the microwave. Most magnets are made of metal. And as any other metal, they explode in the microwave. The magnets in this video are “polymer-encased” magnets which are “microwave safe” according to the sellers website. I was not able to find any external sources on these type of magnets. Every time I try to find the specific science on these magnets, the cover keeps coming up. And by the name it seems that these rate magnets covered with polymer plastic (which doesn’t protect against microwave radiation). As an engineer, I’m highly confused on what these “microwave safe” magnets are. So be safe if you are going to try this product.
If you place anything metallic including magnets inside your microwave oven the radiation will be reflected back into the magnetron inside of your microwave, this can result in overheating and likely an automatic safety thermal overload shutdown, or worst case scenario a fire or a directed energy weapon on the loose, tuned to vapourise water
Metal can go in the microwave as long as there are no jagged, rough edges. You can put a whole stainless steel bowl in microwave without any problems, but a fork will cause it to arc.
My guess is that it has two electrodes inside that form a battery using the water as the electrolyte(makes me wonder if it would work better with salt water). Likely whatever power made is very small though so it would be pretty impractical for anything much bigger than that flashlight. Edit: looked again and it’s 72 hours total. Not rechargeable. My guess then would be that it has some kind of acid that the water just dissolves. Still pretty useful since the terminals in the battery wouldn’t corrode until you dip it in water giving much more shelf life than regular non rechargeable batteries.
