There will never be any musicians in the present or future who will be as talented or original as SRV, Hendrix etc, why do the good ones always die early?
Yep, that's exactly what he said. I've read in one or two places that he was born in Tucson and moved to Texas when he was 9. He grew up in Dumas, which is just north of Amarillo. So in a sense Stevie's telling the truth
@TruthAxe yeah just look at his vodoo chile at this venue. but his mary had a lil lamb and tightrope... some of the best and my favorite. i remembered he said in an interview that when he not feelin it he turn it over to someone else.
@Vaughanaddict and @THEBIGKOSTRINSKY This is regards to 7:57-8:04. What happens is that he pushes the bend and hits the B and/or the high E string to make a Hendrix-esque lick. Unfortunately that would put it into a different key. So he's marking his mistake. I love his playing and he's my fav guitarist ever. He, however was a man and did make mistakes. I also love the veteran musician who just marks the spot and goes on. Great musician, great man! Miss ya buddy!
@cmc2234 If Stevie was still alive the tour wold be called the G1, because the other guys wouldn't have the balls or the skills to go up on stage with him :D
@THEBIGKOSTRINSKY...., i guess that means to chalk one up. someone told me that. i guess he figures hes at the top of his game here. might as well mark it down lol
