    it was awesome till you said MAC address keep on changing. Took me some time to research and get it clarified. for those who didn't understood it here is the explanation.
    A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique identifier assigned to a network interface of a device, such as an Ethernet card or a Wi-Fi adapter. It is used to identify the device on a local network and is usually assigned by the manufacturer.
    As a data packet travels from one device to another, the MAC address of the source device remains the same, it is the destination MAC address that changes. The destination MAC address is the MAC address of the next hop device, it is the device to which the data packet is sent next.
    When a data packet is sent by a device, the device adds the destination MAC address to the packet's header. As the packet travels through the network, each network device that receives the packet examines the destination MAC address in the packet's header to determine if it is the intended recipient.
    If the device is not the intended recipient, it examines the IP address in the packet's header and uses routing tables and algorithms to determine the next hop, the next device to which the packet should be sent. The device then changes the destination MAC address in the packet's header to the MAC address of the next hop device and forwards the packet.
    In summary, as a data packet travels from one device to another, the MAC address of the source device remains the same, it is the destination MAC address that changes. Each network device that receives the packet examines the destination MAC address in the packet's header to determine if it is the intended recipient, if not it uses routing tables and algorithms to determine the next hop, the next device to which the packet should be sent, and changes the destination MAC address in the packet's header to the MAC address of the next hop device and forwards the packet.
    Basically when your data packet is on global network it has global IP addresses. which router will look to get the next hop's MAC address. when you are on private network we use private IP address to get the next hop's MAC address. both the cases we find the MAC address from routing tables. Note that routing tables in global network is different from routing tables in private network.
    Say we are connected using wifi to a private local network before the last hop the last before node will load the MAC address our PC's wifi and send it to our PC. It will get that MAC address again from routing table.

    • @abhishekgopinath4608
      @abhishekgopinath4608 4 місяці тому

      Did you mean each device which receives the frame will check the destination IP address to see if it's the intended destination because the frame is hopped to the next device having the MAC address right so it is the intended destination according to MAC address in the header.
