Thank you Prof.Dr.Michael Granitzer for the overview, after watching this video I've applied to the university. I have done Bachelors in Tech and scored according to German GPA 2.4, please tell me If I will be able to get admitted to the prestigious University of Passau.
Hello! Could you email your question to masters@fim.uni-passau.de or to the Academic Advice Service advice@uni-passau.de? They'll be able to answer. In the meantime, good luck with the application! We hope to be able to welcome you in Passau soon.
How can i understand about 110 ects points , i am little bit confused , though i have 2.4 german gpa grade along with 2 years of relevant experience in it industry. Please reply
Hello! The University's academic advice service is best placed to answer your questions about applying - could you send them an email (advice@uni-passau.de) with details of your qualifications and experience? Looking at the Academic requirements for the Computer Science programme, there are two possible scenarios: 1) You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 2) You have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with computer science subjects making up at least 110 ECTS credits's worth of your studies. (As a rough guide: Bachelor's degrees are usually made up of 180 ECTS credits, so if 110 of them are in Computer Science subjects, that is almost 2/3 of your courses and modules.) Either way, your final grade must be 2.7 or better (2.4 is better than 2.7, so you should be ok), or you should be among the top 70% of graduates in your cohort. Good luck with your application - we hope to welcome you in Passau soon! -RH
Hello! Thank you for your interest in this degree programme. There is no entrance exam. You can find a list of the requirements on the web page www.uni-passau.de/en/msc-computer-science - under "Entry requirements and application information". Hope this helps and we hope to be able to welcome you in Passau soon!
Hello! Your best bet is to email masters@fim.uni-passau.de to discuss your specific qualifications. They'll be able to advise you. Hope this helps and good luck with your application!
i have 15 years of education , (12 in school and 3 years in bachelors degree), will this be hurdle in taking admission in this course, i just want to make sure that my application is not denied solely on the fact that i had 15 years of education instead of 16 years
Hello! There is no requirement for you to have spent a certain number of years in education in total. What's important is the ECTS credits or their equivalence, and that your undergraduate degree is a 3-year degree (or more). You can email masters@fim.uni-passau.de for more detailed advice. Hope this helps & it would be great to welcome you in Passau soon!

Please if you can tell about part time job for English speakers international student there. Also tell us about visa extension issue depending on blocked account ?
Hello For information about part-time jobs, the iStudi coach (www.uni-passau.de/en/istudi-coach/) or the Centre for Careers and Competencies (www.uni-passau.de/en/zkk/) are best placed to advise you. In terms of visa extensions: you will probably have to apply for a residence permit to extend your stay in Germany. The rules are very similar to those when you apply for a visa - you will have to prove that you have the financial means to stay in Germany, which is often done by having a blocked account. For more information, see www.uni-passau.de/en/immigration-formalities/residence-permit-for-international-students-in-germany/ Once you graduate, you can extend your residence permit for up to 18 months to look for a job, and once you have a job, you can apply for a long term permit known as a Blue Card.
