You can - there are aftermarket options available. There is physically no other way they could magically add the hardware to your vehicle OTA, so that’s your one and only option either way lmao

The headlights don't make it "cyber", it's just a refresh like the 3. It's not stainless steel and angular like the Cybertruck and neither is the robotaxi.
I think that what matters most is the parts that change. Just how many cars can they produce of the older 'model' Y before they have to make the other? With Highland in China I think they offered a slight discount to clear the last of the previous 3 production while still offered preorders at the same time [just no specs or price initially].

Stopping every hour for 45 min (and almost always need to unhook the trailer).

The Cybertruck is shorter in both height and length than a midsized Toyota Tacoma double cab long bed 4x4. It is a bit wider and a lot heavier than the Tacoma. But, the CT is still smaller than a full sized pickup truck.
The cost of steer by wire is substantially cheeper than physical steering. I wouldn’t be surprised that steer by wire comes to all new models of Tesla from here out.

GigaShanghai is a EV factory built from the ground up and is a well oiled machine. Much easier to upgrade and make changes to than the Fremont factory which is a giant maze of retrofitted sections. Its an old building

Giga Shanghai factory is much cheaper to run vs the American one, cheaper labour and cheaper material costs, combined that with the Chinese mentality, where the workers work really hard(remember how fast giga Shanhai was built), makes iterations much faster and efficient. Lastly the EV competition in china is much more intense, so in order for Tesla to keep the competition at bay, they are more pressured into making new releases there first.
Model Y is 5 years old and needs a refresh or it won't continue to sell..... That old trope is demonstrably false. Is more to it, better suspension, double glazed glass for quieter cabin, more range. Plus, more improvements. But yeah, the old model at a very good price is enticing.
They need to hurry up and expand the model Y into 3 types: the standard model that exists now, but get rid of the un-useable 3rd row, a smaller, cheaper variant ("model 2"), and a slightly larger version that has a proper 3rd row, just big enough for adults. They would cover 2 massive markets they don't currently touch (Civic-type compact hatch, small 3 row crossover like the Highlander).
