Not working at all signal dies more than 3 feet from the transmitter- even over wire know is good. Instructions and videos are useless
You can try to increase the signal strength of the transmitter, and then increase the sensitivity of the receiver

I was unable to duplicate the first test scenario with 2 wire 23awg. No matter what I did the signal strength and sound crosstalks with the ground wire and went past the break. Reading the same signal strength each time.
Maybe you can try, reduce the test signal
I wish you could do this video with real underground wires! This is not helpful!

I bought this. Looked for days. It could only narrow down my buried well to a 12 x 20' area. It would 'hit' everywhere with equal intensity.
Returned it.
Showing it being used with cables above ground what good is that.
Because there was no 3D animation before, the cables were exposed to look more concrete.
What would cuase locator signal to fade in and out?? I'm tracing a live underground 120v. I'm tracing fine with a solid sounding signal and then it stops, but continues to do an in and out type of signal. Any reason what would cause this. I have leads on live line and ground connecting to emitter. Thanks
Please stay, the position where the signal disappears is near the breakpoint. Hope it helps you

Do you have to shut off power in order to connect it to the wire you’re tracing?
NF-826 may cause damage when it working in cables with strong current .
but nf-820 can testing in live cable .For safety , do not recommend testing while the power is on
How deep can it scan?
Just turn on the function to use, scan mode. The hold time can be set in the setting to wake up

Приобрёл данный прибор. Ожидал от него большей мощности. В землю кабель закапывать не пробовал, разложил на бетоне и тестировал. Обрыв одной жилы в кабеле находит с расстояния меньше метра при условии максимальной мощности как на передатчике, так и приёмнике. Короткое замыкание находит с ещё меньшего расстояния. Заявленную величину в 2,5 метра можно получить только подсоединив щупы с разных концов кабеля, то есть сделав петлю.
