    A woman in China received blood donations from civil servants like police, firefighters, and soldiers. However, after finding out more details about the powerful aunt in this case, internet users started to become angry as it is likely an abuse of power involved and a lot of communist privilege.

      There are tons of immigrants similar to this (children/relatives of Chinese rich) out there working for the CCP in other countries.
      The influence goes beyond China but it is the most concentrated there.

    Li Keqiang didn't even go to the top-ranked Shanghai hospital for cardiac symptoms (with a 95% resuscitation rate). He ended up at a traditional hospital with only a 60% survival rate. Both were 22 minutes away, so it's not a matter of one being closer...

      @@jasonnash4452 from wikipedia: The Tiananmen Square protests, known in China as the June Fourth Incident were student-led demonstrations held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, China, lasting from 15 April to 4 June 1989. After weeks of unsuccessful attempts between the demonstrators and the Chinese government to find a peaceful resolution, the Chinese government declared martial law on the night of 3 June and deployed troops to occupy the square in what is referred to as the Tiananmen Square massacre. The events are sometimes called the '89 Democracy Movement, the Tiananmen Square Incident, or the Tiananmen uprising. The protests were precipitated by the death of pro-reform Chinese Communist Party general secretary Hu Yaobang in April 1989 amid the backdrop of rapid economic development and social change in post-Mao China, reflecting anxieties among the people and political elite about the country's future.

      In mainland China the government has all its citizens blood type and organ data, so if a government official needs something, they can find the perfect match and make the person “disappear”. it is not recommended to do full body checkups and blood donations in mainland.

    If my humble google research is correct, partial liver transplants are a thing and the organs of both donor and receiver are able to regenerate. It's pretty amazing for doctors (and alcoholics) that the liver is able to do so.
    So no, nobody needed to die to get that girl a healthy organ.

    • @ChinaInsiderWithDavidZhang
      @ChinaInsiderWithDavidZhang  6 місяців тому +34

      Not just one organ, she had multiple organ damaged. And I said she may not have gotten a liver transplant, but the fact she was admitted to the transplant ward means they had the operation ready. And to have a transplant surgery ready means they found a donor supply already, regardless if the actual operation was done or not. And that is scary, because it usually takes months to years to find an organ donor, not days.

    • @NickJaime
      @NickJaime 6 місяців тому +2

      Yes, it can but finding a match and the organ not being rejected by the body is more common than you think.

    • @tricktap8502
      @tricktap8502 6 місяців тому +11

      She had multiple injuries to multiple organs, the likelihood that she survived without healthy and fresh organs is very low, and it takes time for that whole process unless they've already got those organs. If the aunt can mobilize a whole region just for blood transfusion I can't imagine the organ thing.

    • @johnmudd7882
      @johnmudd7882 6 місяців тому +9

      Livers are able to regrow but they aren't actually able to truly regenerate. Liver structure is complex and when you take out part of the liver a mass of cells takes up the place of the missing liver but aren't actually very functional as original liver tissue because they are missing the structure and organization that makes the liver work efficiently. It's a process called compensatory hyperplasia. So no, a person generally is not able to donate a liver more than once.

    The only way i see this being ok, (outside of all the external context of socialist propoganda) is if the civil servants who rushed to donate blood did so voluntarily or for an amount of money they agreed to, and not in exchange for their freedom, continued existance, or some other implied negative consequence of declining some CCP big wig.

    • @Killjoy_Mel
      @Killjoy_Mel Місяць тому

      You would pressure and threaten other people less powerful than you to give up a part of their own body to save your family? To answer your question, no, I would not. Because if I did that, then when one of them comes to me later and tells me "my daughter is dying from kidney failure. I demand your sister donate her kidney, or I will make your life very difficult" then I don't get to cry and moan. If I'm allowed to use coercion and force to get others to donate parts of their blood and tissue for my family, then everybody is entitled to do the same for me. And I want to be able to donate my body out of free will, not because my rich superiors will f-ck me six ways from saturday if I don't become an involuntary donor.

    They react to it, in large part, because many conduct themselves this way at all levels of society. It's the foundation of 关系. It exists here in the west too. What pisses people off is that the breadth and depth of their 关系 isn't at the same level as others. They get special treatment of their own, just not at the same scale. I'm talking about average Chinese citizens, not the poor who receive very little help of any kind from anyone.
