i used to call it that way but someone replied that it doesn't really stick, also calling it windmill-core is also kinda restraining it to one specific region, I'd argue that windmill is an equivalent of the CBGB'S tho' whereas freak punk not only sticks but also works as a descriptor for the music itself kind of spoken word post punk with perhaps criptic and repetitive lyrics delivered in a grandiose, but freakish manner, often infused with a feeling of urgency or paranoia and many times with an odd time signature
@@attila-botondrazman44 not bad, there is surely a krautrock influence over there, i like freak punk better because it has a better sound imo, but not bad at all
I wouldn't say freak punk. Their older stuff is surely mathy post-punk, but cavalcade clearly centers around a fusion/70's prog sound. It's spastic, mathy and heavily fusion inspired sonically. I've heard people call it jazzcore.

Someone make the saxophonist a full-time member/baker.
He more or less is. He's been touring with them since around 2019
They've moved on from the new york pizzaria to start their own restaurant. How time flies.
Chefwear is comfortable and super hip
me after watching this performance: chef's kiss
This is definitely my tempo.
I hope Matt starts playing live with the others again. It'd break my heart if he leaves the band
he's supposedly touring with them later this year.
@@shakey215 :D
Yeah he is 100% a key member of the band. It’d be interesting to hear his addition to songs from cavalcade
I hope he comes back chilled & relaxed - no backflips.!
@@r7coo to be fair the backflips were pretty cool

Parts of Cavalcade definitely have Jeff Buckley vibes, weird coincidence?

matinee or evening show?
I'd say an adequate name for these bands (bc nr, bm, squid, etc) is
freak punk
Windmill core

It should be hard-kraut or even kraut-core
