Klay Thompson was benched for the first time in his career ending a streak that began as a rookie in 2012. The Splash Brothers Era is officially over in Golden State but that’s the last of the Warriors’ problems. - Спорт
This is why i love Westbrook. His mindset set him apart from AI and Carmelo. He lowered his ego and accept his role as a bench guy and mostly their energizer of the bench
W Russ
Westbrook had NO CHOICE but to lower his ego & taking a lesser role. That's the price he had to pay to continue playing in the NBA.
yeah after he was living a lie for two and a half seasons
@@blue-phoenix115that’s the point though some players went to the bench kicking and screaming whereas russ accepted his role for the chance to win a chip
@@hualchr6697 at least he realized it unlike Carmelo and AI
Seeing Jalen Brunson in the graphic for post scoring leaders among Giannis, Kuminga, and Jokic is crazy. JB is unreal at his size
He’s crafty but it’s not about height when you have a certain type of game. A lot of bigs these days are scoring more and more outside which is opening the floor for that type of style.
but people were convinced that he was just a good role player when he was on the mavs. Im happy to see him thrive

Can you blame them? He had not hit the next level yet.
@jnmc2498 at first I could not blame them, you are right. Though when he was havingl 30 and 40 point games consistently I could 😂
Rus and Klay both needed some time to accept the fact that they work better on the bench now, but deserves real respect for doing so
nah Russ better
@@cameronpowe7257 yeah cause that was the commenter’s point his point was that they both are learning to adapt not who’s better
@@goldenharp5415 Russ learn better
Russ learned first and in a worse way and Klay is still just riding his boat about to experience the same pace as Russ.
Klay's resilience and humility in accepting his new role is truly admirable. It's not easy to come to terms with a change in circumstances, but he's handling it with grace. #Respect
👊
Era ended in 2019. 2013-2019 was magical man😭. Life long warriors fan and im grateful for those 2. Always will. Glad klay can take on a new role for us
Klay was key to the 2022 ring tho and was also good last season
Klay was not key to the 2022 ring, he was just a role player
@@emilfrederiksen.1622bro did you see his splits and watch him play he was awful? Or are you just saying stuff? He shot them out of so many games and played mediocre defense. His nickname should be klay 5-14 Thompson.
@@nydibsI second this. JORDAN POOLE was the key to the Warriors winning in 2022 because whenever Klay was struggling Jordan Poole basically was a third splash brother not to mention the elite defense Andrew Wiggins played on Luka Dončić in the West finals, and Jayson Tatum in the NBA finals.
ROLE PLAYER?????@@nydibs
It’s definitely not over and I hope Klay remains on the bench. Just an Manu and the Spurs, having an ace come off the bench will help you win. The Splash Bro era is still here, but in a different format. Hoping for the best! 🙌🏾
Nope it’s dead lol
Guy is nice, genuinely a nice guy. Rooting for him so hard. Humble, hard working, willing to take a step back, and see the big picture. Only a matter of time before he resets and those shots start falling more and more.
Lol he’s a egotistical simpleton. An incredibly boring athlete
Klay be saying this shit i’m so blessed and grateful to playing then he’ll go right back to sulking and putting up bad shot after bad shot
Dude has the worst energy on the floor
At the same time, he is only human. Having so many up & down games, is it any wonder that his emotions/energy on & off the court follow that very same up & down fluctuation??
I know that if I was widely considered to be the 2nd best shooter ever, next to my teammate who is THE BEST shooter ever... and I lost most of that talent through no fault of my own (2 of the worst injuries a b-ball player can have), you can damn well bet that I'd go insane while trying to come to terms with a new reality... a reality where I'm no longer at the top of my game with still so much left in the tank.
@@sofaking1180 Hayward had said an incredible piece about the 2018 Celtics, when he and Kyrie were coming back from injury. They were still trying to prove they still got it, while Tatum and co were staking their claim as the new alphas after reaching the ECF.
It's so applicable to Klay, Russ, and AI. Up to them how'd they react to the demotion. Russ accepted it, AI rejected it, it's up to Klay.
@@amplesstratleholm7609Russ had no choice cause he was going to be out the league , ai was cool with being retired, and Klay knows this is his last chance
F off, I want him to succeed and I don’t care in what role if this is what it takes for him to be a good player then so be it.
Klay is an extraordinary man of incredible character. Can't blame him for struggling to come to grips with his new reality. It is a very difficult and painful thing to have to accept. His humility is inspirational. #11 is AMAZING!!

It’s interesting to see so much of Klay’s emotional journey as an nba player. You don’t often see a person grow and mature and fall and get into trouble and apologize and etc. I’m not saying he’s done all that, but I’m saying it reminds me that all these players are people first not athletes first.
He's a champion and can deliver when it matters most. Wait till the playoffs!
I'm still worried about game four klay

I am happy teams are still willing to make trade deals with the Dubs. If I were a team GM, I'd always think of possibly acquiring a Jordan Poole.
Ik Poole sucks this year but the dubs could have kept him for like another year for him to raise his value a bit bc Chris Paul ain’t doing it
Love how JB is second in post points 😂
wow, Not even 1000 views, Im early. Also Klay used to be my favorite player, hope he recovers soon.
Klay has been done since the injuries. But every now and then he has a good game for every 15-20 bad games he has. Golden State is going to really have to rely on the young guys like Podz and Kuminga. Also worth noting, every time we think the run for the Warriors is over it’s not. So they’re not done until they both hang up the shoe laces.
Finally, a true comment.
I am speaking about it since previous season. Like about a need of playing more Kuminga, which finally happened and as I am saying about need of true big man to protect the rim and grabbing rebounds.
True
IF KLAY WILL ACCEPT THE BENCH LIKE IGGY DID, I CAN SAY WE CAN STILL PUSH A DEEP RUN
Good job klay. They love u up and hate u when u down. But im here all year round. Good sht legend
Hate? It's honesty. Klay isn't great but he is very good still.
He can be Manu Ginboli -- spark off the bench, getting buckets in the closing minutes, and playing very good defense.
Never been a Klay fan, but I feel bad for him. As for the dubs, they’re done, and I’m glad. The media lovefest for them is sickening.
Klay has to get shown up by a rookie teammate to play good. That’s a bad sign. Getting shown up by other teams isn’t his motivation anymore he just wants to prove he’s still better than the new guys 😅 I pray he finds his lane ❤
Your content is great
More times yes but the narraitive he be pushing in this one aint that, because no way are the splash brothers over
Wiggins is already back. He's been playing at pretty close to his '22 playoffs form for the past month. His PoA defense is one of the best in the league
Klay dropping 36 is just a glimpse of his past self.
He is like a dying light, it may flicker every now and then showing flashes of his old self but no one can deny the fact that its just a matter of time before his light is snuffed out
Klay is the most humble player his face says it his character screams it love you Klay ❤

absolutely! trae in any angle looks like the person driving a UFO! pairing him with wemby is a sensible move
I truly love this for Klay. Not the performance. I know Klay can still do that. What I love is that statement he made. Bc that right there is what will give you the peace and the space mentally to go out there and perform the way he's ways performed since they became the Splash brothers. We love you Klay! And this from a LeBron fan! ✊🏽🫡
KLAY went to the bench less pressure good mindset . This might have interesting implications going forward. I’m impressed by how KLAY is handling this. Let’s Gooooooo
Doesn't matter who starts the game. Who's on the floor when the clock hits 0.00 in the 4th quarter is all that matters.
I think Klay got benched, because after that Clippers game he went completely ballistic on the coaching staff. It's better they experiment now than later. Kerr is trying to see what is going to give Warriors a spark on offensive with no Cp3.
Been over since 2022-2023
Yep anyone who watched last season knows this. Klays decline is not new
I mean Klay was never Ai or Melo, but it is nice to see him accept this new role in his career. He wants to play for a long time, that means eventually he will need to fill different roles and a hot hand coming off the bench will keep him in the league a lot longer.
Why does everyone think when someone says something like another you think it’s implying being on the same level it’s not it’s just that two good to great players having a similar circumstance and reacting differently thats all.
The comparison is fair here as AI and Melo had egos built of years being the number 1 guy in their respective teams that Klay didn't. Klay humbling himself to come off the bench was going to be easier as he was always more of a team player and more used to humbling himself to begin with.
The loss to the Clippers was tough since they blew a lead again, but they BARELY squeaked by Utah (who they had been dominating). Klay going moving to a bench player actually might be helpful since he'll be playing when they need offense without Curry and Kuminga on the floor. I don't know if he can be effective consistently, but maybe if he stops trying to shoot on the move and takes higher percentage shots he'll get it together. You don't forget how to shoot because of age (or even injury). He might just have to limit his shots to good ones instead of the circus stuff.
Klay still my man and will always be! Remember this, No one is winning when klay Thompson is hitting!
Shooters get old but will always be shooters!
Like the saying about a pants famous brand ,
Old Levi's never " die" , they just fade away!
Bronny and Thanasis could anchor a... certain type of all star team. Who else can we put on there?
Klay is a class dude. It's hard to watch him struggle so.
Using him in a different role will be very beneficial to them he doesn’t have to be the #2 or even 3rd option
Thing is, everyone aside from SC30, need to prove themselves on the court and then know what their place or role is. Klay’s performance this year is not a starter performance 🤷🏻♂️ hope this situation becomes his motivation 👊
I am not a Warriors fan but good job

6:45 correction Lakers have 3 tradeable first round picks this offseason 😅

What's your thoughts about doc rivers destroying the bucks
My goodness pleass dont let lebron end up in golden state. I'd have to switch teams I'm rooting for again.
Nah brother don't even think about that, it's all just media propaganda them pushing foolish false stories for content that bs will never happen, warriors organization is wayy smarter than adding that dude Lebron to destroy their franchise
Everybody falls off. Do it with dignity and grace.
It's sad to see a legend like this😥
The under 30 minutes graphic is messed up. The warriors have played 53 games thus far this season, and you said 26 games but the graphic is 20-9
Klay seems to shoot well when he isn't fading. Even Zach Lowe talked about it on his most recent podcast.
Don't know what it's like to pay attention to the shot clock during game. But - if manageable - maybe Klay should only be taking fadeaways & off balance shots when the shot clock is under 4-5 seconds.
Ain’t no way the warriors want LeBum James
That’s because at the end of the day Klay is a winner.
That humility comes with accomplishment.
He has several accolades that are higher on the chart of accomplishment than Steph Curry.
He will be back and it would be a mistake to count him out.
This is the best basketball channel on UA-cam. Mikerphone or whatever his name is not even close to this goat.
FlightMike? Or Mike Corzemba?
They both fell off. Can’t explain why, listening to them is unbearable to me nowadays. Casey is so much more engaging
Flightmike is kinda a clown. This channel is the goat of basketball channels
@@idiotrun1997Because FlightMike says the exact same thing over and over and just fills out his videos with fluff
We stand behind Klay !!
I been saying it since they won the chip. Imagine if in the offseason after they won they dealt klay. They would have been able to turn around and be competitive with curry way quicker. Whether they went with future picks to deal or young talent I have to believe they would have been better off.
If Klay can take on the super 6th man role it could be beneficial for both the Warriors and extending his NBA career.
Its funny to see how I said Giannis and Dame don't work together while a lot of channels were hyping Bucks as Potential eastern Conference Finalist
Yes the playoffs are different. That's why Kerr needs to trust and give more playing time to his youngsters now to prepare them. That means JK, Pods, Moody, TJD, Quinones and Santos.
If Giannis is available in the offseason then you would have been able to showcase your young players as assets for a trade.
GSW ceiling is probably a second round exit. Which is nothing to be ashamed of, as it means they maintained last season's performance even though they got older, as a team. 🏀
Bucks never needed "Dame".... I been saying that since the trade, while everybody else was thinking Bucks go win it all. Bucks getting "Dame" was actually a set-back because they gave up a player that was not only bigger, not only a bucket getter but a DEFENSIVE player and "Dame" has never been known for defense. Like I said since day one, "Dame" would have been better served in Miami.
Klay didn't think he made mistake because he didn't. He fouled Westbrook, most realistic outcome was to miss at least one. They could defend and get basket and be down 5-6 for like 18s left. Klay did very smart thing that didn't pay out.
Warriors dynasty is done ✅ young to the spurs confirmed . What a time to be alive
I didn’t even watch this vid. Klay was over when KD joined the team. Klay had to change his game big time when KD was there. Then he got hurt. So, it’s damn near impossible to go back to what you were like 5 years or so ago. I just wanna see him do well and play for more chips.
7:01 now wouldn’t this be somethin’ somethin’ 😲🫣😅
nothing lasts forever, dynasties will rise and fall
can I have a video about the twolves please
Clay have the arsenal and ability the problem is consistency and in playoffs consistent is the key and klay dont have it anymore
I LOVE when they doubt the Dubs!!💯💯
If klay ends up on Miami Lakers or clippers he might come off the bench this might prepare him just in case. But i doubt him leaving the warriors if he does I'd be shocked and if it's too my clippers I'd be ecstatic. But I'd hate to lose George and i never thought there'd be a day i say this I'd hate to lose harden so they might need to take a paycut or let one go.
Finally...about damn time. I blame Kerr, this took too long tbh.

Respectively, you’re tripping. And I was at the clippers game.
Let's go Brandin!
We really need a veteran center, someone that can grab the rebound
Here's my take on this. Klay has entered the "Miami Heat Ray Allen" era where he is the 6th man spark on the bench. Less minutes for him really makes sense because when he makes one 3, he goes for back to back 3s, with the 2nd shot being a clunker due to poor shot selection. It really looks like the young guns are gonna be the temporary help for Steph, by increasing their value.
0:38 It’s funny because this UA-camr thought Steph was trying to give Klay “dap” because he definitely wasn’t you can tell by his fingers. But it’s even funnier because Klay also thought Steph was trying to “dap” him and when he realized Steph was giving orders instead of “dap” he rubbed his hands because he knew it was caught on camera. 😂 but then again I know you only say certain lies so people like me could point it out in the comments. Touché
2:20 nahh actions are louder than words, that is not how he really feels, look at his body language at the court his demeanor at the bench, he is not happy, he is toxic
