    Really like how you serve the viewers. You explain who the iem's are for. You focus on how individual preferences relate to the products you review. Your own preferences are only used as a point of reference, not a goal. Incredibly well done 👏

      That is the issue right, I mgiht not like bright sets, but is a set executing on a bright signature well? Is there enough balance. Too many new reviewers just say something is garbage because they don't like it but that isn't how it should work. At least explain why or what parts don't work. Thank you

    Thanks Paul for this detailed review. I listened to this review twice. As a 69 year old with a lifetime of music system building and music enjoyment….I identified with your description of these IEMs. With that I purchased these IEMs this morning and Amazon delivered them this evening! Yes, same day delivery. I just spent 90 minutes listening with Qobuz on my iPad Pro. I’m using a $100.00 portable DAC/amp with my iPad. This is no doubt my limiting piece….with that I’m hearing everything you described…. beautiful balance and detail with very nice vocals of all kind. I’m stunned with the space between musicians and instruments. I say this coming from enjoying my Magnepan .7 speakers and a very nice system driving them.
    The IEMs are beautiful and all the accessories are very nice.
    Thanks again Paul, this is the most enjoyable $250.00 I’ve spent on my hobby.

      Cadenza4 is a bit of a sleeper but Letshuoer knows how to tune and picked a few drivers that match well. I don't say every $200 is worth $200, but that one is for that combination of drivers and tuning. Glad you are enjoying it.

    I wanted to ask how does the cadenza 4 lower treble feel? Does it feel a little lacking?
    Am asking this because I'm not a fan of how the Dunu Titan S has that lower treble tuck right after the upper mids boost. Makes me like it less than 7hz zero which feels much more totally accurate in that area.
    Thanks for the great review as always.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  9 днів тому +1

      By your description, probably going to be a bit under for you. Zero is still a hard set to beat for the price and most people will spend a lot of money chasing something better but may not find it. Not sure if their Kima 2 is better in that area than Titan S

    Would you say this would be an upgrade over the Moondrop Katos? If so, is it a "worth it" upgrade, or not quite enough of a step up, and what would you recommend instead? I listen to literally all genres, but acoustics, ballads, and songs focused on vocals and pianos are in the rotation most frequently. Had the Katos since release in 2021 and like them, but I definitely feel like im miss something on a lot of tracks and would like to step up.
    *Edit*
    Just read through some of the comments and your replies. After seeing you explain the potential issues with the $200 range and how it may be better to save up for the $400+ market, I may do that. Would still love a recommendation based on my initial comment tho 😁

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  6 місяців тому

      Yeah, the $200ish range is really tough on your "worth it" point. Simgot SM4 is an outlier, better than the price, but you need to reconcile listening to a slightly brighter set. That is where Cadenza4 did well. Is it boring, sure but there are lovely mids happening. I don't need the treble hype sound all the time. Beyond that, you have Hype 4, EM10, DaVinci, Aful explorer all just being released so sit back and wait a bit. Hybrids are tough, good idea on paper, hard to execute well.

    Fiercely competitive price bracket. It's tough to stand out. I know you like Zenns Top in the $500 range. What are your recs at 1k? Monarch MKIII? Like your analytical approach in these videos. Well done.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  8 місяців тому +1

      Never heard Monarch, but I like most Thieaudio. Their tuning and driver choices are usually solid. I'd probably pick up a used UM set in that price range rather than buy a $1k set. Something about their style is different from everything else and if I am paying that much, it needs to be different than what I can get at lower price points.

    Could these be a good end-game candidate for a serious audiophile, or is there something obvious keeping them from that level? The Black Friday deal has me interested.

      End game unless you have you eyes on EST or microplanars. That is the limitation on 1+3, you want be more resolving that those sets for now. Does that matter to everyone? Nope but that is what you get at Variations prices.

    Looks like the little brother to the Studio4, so a fantastic natural set. Too bad I outgrew this price bracket. :(

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  8 місяців тому +2

      Yeah, the tuning is similar to lots of sets that tried to hit the same balance, not go too warm, reveal the mids. I think $200usd is a short term point for most people, its a hint at what you can get, but not quite there.

  • @KmtS9
    @KmtS9 8 місяців тому

    Oh shoot. Looking like this really is right along my alley. Favorite sets that I own are the Sonus, P1 Max, and Hexa. This seems like a good step up from those, correct?
    Would love for you to get the new Ziigaats in, the Doscinco and Cincotres. Would be an interesting comparison between those and the Cadenza 4. Might as well throw in the Hype2 and Tea2 in there. 😅
    Another thing I'd like to ask is how this compares to the next step up, like the Hisenior Mega5-EST, Xenns Top, and even the Hype4? I was initially set on just saving up and going straight for the Mega5-EST, but the Cadenza 4 is making me consider taking that intermediate step in the ~$300 range.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  8 місяців тому +1

      That is the issue with the $200usd level, you get a step up from Sonus and maybe Hexa, but still a gap to the big boys like Top or Hype 4, probably Mega5. There is always going to be a limitation on a 1+3 and Letshuoer clearly wanted to use nice drivers, but it rarely works out that

    • @KmtS9
      @KmtS9 8 місяців тому

      @@PaulWasabii thanks for this Paul. But yeahp, I'm just asking questions hoping for a different answer at this point. 😂 But really looking like going straight to the $500-600 range might be the wiser choice. We'll see how the rest of the year goes for IEMs. Still hoping for a miracle in the $300 range!

    Excellent review as always, very intresting!
    I was thinking of the getting the Truthears Nova or Chopin which are cheaper than the Cadenza 4. Is this a better upgrade to the TRN ST5? My complaints with the ST5 is one note bass and bit to harsh metal BA timbre at times ...
    I'm pro minor EQing...
    You liked the Hype 2 a lot, how does it compare to the Cadenza 4?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  8 місяців тому +1

      I would say if you have Hype 2 and are EQ'ing, just EQ it to Cadenza 4 roughly. It is just going to shift the balance and tonality a bit. I don't think I would own both Hype 2 and Cadenza though as I like both, but perhaps not enough to own both. I actually started EQ'ing Cadenza bass closer to Hype 2. The bass is really good on Hype 2, its a keeper just for that. C4 is nice, but not the same as Hype 2 on the low end. I think both tuning teams are top notch and very capable at these hybrid tunings.

    The Tin HiFi T2+ is my jam (along with the TRN ST5). Does the Cadenza 4 fit that profile? (have the Pula PA02). If not what set would you recommended as an upgrade or major upgrade in the T2+ sound signature? or should I just stick with what I have and enjoy!

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Місяць тому +1

      My default response is if you have a set that you like, don't chase the rainbow. You will get something different, perhaps something you like and then a part of it you do not. As far as safe, likeable sets go, Cad4 is there, but I would also say it is more of a sidegrade to Pula. Cad4 uses nice drivers, but you are going to pay a lot of money for some refinement.

    • @kontrolenthusiast1099
      @kontrolenthusiast1099 Місяць тому

      @PaulWasabii very insightful as always. You have experience with a vast quantity of sets I've never heard and most likely never will. Seems I'm current as far as Cadenza 4 with the side grade Pa02, although lacking said refinement.

    Hello from Japan.
    I got the Cadenza4 today and I really like it, but I'm interested in increasing the bass a bit with the EQ.
    Do you have any recommended settings? If so, please let me know.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  5 місяців тому +1

      There isn't one general EQ solution but if you can PEQ, you can add a low shelf that increases midbass and subbass:
      Filter 1: ON LSC Fc 400 Hz Gain 2.0 dB Q 1.000
      I tend to use Graphic EQ and you would do something similar, move the sliders that you have at 400 and below up 1or 2db. Then turn the EQ on and off and listen for changes in the low end. Not enough, try 3db. That is literally how I do it, small changes, and turn on/off alot to see which is better, on or off.

    • @asaki6100
      @asaki6100 5 місяців тому

    Another great review. Currently have S12 pro and Dunu Falcon Ultra so looking for a Hybrid, would this complement the other 2? Like Dire Straits Pink Floyd Fleetwood Mac soft rock, Jazz, Classical. Thanks

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  8 місяців тому +1

      Actually it would and if you go down that path, remember what I said about a slight EQ bass boost. It hits those rock tracks that need a slight foundation and those male vocals. Hybrids are weird, they are almost between your S12P and the Falcon. Some people are really into 1DD sets, especially nice ones, I like planars typically more than 1DD. What do they have in common, easier to tine 1 driver vs 4 and that is why there is a $200usd curse. Its hard to pull it off at that price point.

    Your graphs in squig link actually seems closer (this vs cklvx). Only real difference seems to be in the upper treble. Haven't heard any but the cklvx's graph seems close to aful p5 and i didn't finda that one too impressive. (espcially considering price) I like a bit better bass (more controlled, less bloated, and a bit less in general) and better tech (separation, soundstage, detail retrieval). I also listen to a lot of different genres so i like eclectic sets. Would you say this suits my bill?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  8 місяців тому

      Yes, as I said, my nitpick is that dip in midbass or both if you like more. That Bery coated DD is nice and tuned down compared to other warmer sets trying to hide something. As I said, they stacked the deck with that DD, a Sonion, and a couple Knowles. You have already experienced the $200usd curse so I would hesitate as you might be looking for something more capable and more money. As I said, this price point is really hard as there is always going to be a limitation vs sets that are slightly more expensive.

    Hi Paul. I would appreciate your advice. I’m looking for a good neutral set for orchestral music, classical, jazz and electronic (a-la Bonobo). I’m pretty low in budget and I’m looking for Cadenza 4 (like it due to the price), Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite and Blessing 3. I know that Blessing 3 is a little bit more expensive but I’m willing to pay if it worth it. It would be my first iem headset. Previously borrowed moondrop LAN from a friend of mine and I pretty like it.
    I would appreciate your advice.
    Thank you and have a great day 🙏

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  7 місяців тому

      If I was low on budget, I'd get the Lan. It is surprisingly good for the price. The hardest part of this hobby is finding something you like and you found one. To be brutally honest, get the Lan now and then at the end of the year when there are the biggest sale periods, re-visit the options. Even LetShuoer tends to put their sets on sale a few times a year. Orchestra Lite is another one I would watch, see if it goes on sale. Its all BA and slightly more risky purchase than Lan.
